View Full Version : Benn's on going build
Cheers guys, updates at the mo are a bit boring i know...
Any is better than none :)
True, so to day i did this...
First time it's been out side since end of Oct.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9550.jpg
Now you can see the level of filth i've been working in..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9551.jpg
Doesn't look to bad.. Then sweeping it up looks worse..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9552.jpg
Got the battery out, wing off, servo and mc out, give the other side of the engine bay a wipe off. All ready to go to the body shop.
After clearing up in the garage and moving stuff about so i had some bench space to work on i started to strip the servo down to bare metal to re paint.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9555.jpg
Under a few layers of paint. All bare and now been etch primed and high build primerd to get a nice smooth finish. But finish it in black or grey? hhhmmm
Ever had the mc to servo join leak? This will be why!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9553.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9554.jpg
The std finish is like a power coat, add on that other layers of paint and you get a crap seal and leakage. So its all cleaned up now.
Also while i was on a roll. I paint my Zlet pump up in bumper grey too (crap pic)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9556.jpg
Picked the sump up Friday after work, so i can fit the zlet pump and bits and the sump tomoz so then the bottom ends all done, just need to finish the head.

Aswell as.. While the bumpers off, i thought it was time to weld these bloody bolts in, as if you push them out of place they become an ****..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20updates/Aprilbits15.jpg
Then painted the iron up ion black hammer right..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20updates/Aprilbits16.jpg
Ready for the bumper to be refitted.
All for the mo.i welded mine in ages ago real night mare when refitting bumper and bolt falls out you suddenly shout no you c**t
lol that's why i did mine for Pad, makes life easier.
Fitted the new oil pump yesterday. missed a spacer out.. but luckily i could fit it after.
Started to fit the oil level sensor blank and the thread pulled out of the hole.. So got a helicoil set today so i can repair it. Got a new torque wrench too.
So let the engine building start.
Should try doing one up when someones swapped the coach bolts for a normal one, utter ass!
Nut each side should sort that Mark..
Nut each side should sort that Mark..
Indeed, I was trying to pull it off of the yellow shell quickly to move it by putting bars in the front panel through the bumper mount holes, and discovered I had to take all the bumper off of the bumper bar first because the bolts just spun lol
Then found they were rusted solid and ended up taking all the L bars etc out too! It'll be going on pins when it's done anyway... but it is an ass
Even the slow updates in this wip are good! Car still looks awesome Benn!
mark, i found when i first took the bumper off all them years ago that getting the ones in the inner wings off was a nightmare, snapping one, read the haynes manual and it shows taking the bar off.. Done it that way ever since. John, cheers dude. Building the engine up so its ready for when the shells done.
Yep I always do it that way too, doesn't take the bumper alignment out too! But when they're rusted solid and spinning in the bumper bar because theyre not proper coach bolts its not so easy lol

Thank you very much Mr Lad.

I also welded my bumper bolts first time I removed my bumper lol and copper greased the threads. As said before this nova is up there with the best examples and the subtle mods on the exterior are excellent. Muchos respect :thumb:
I makes life much easier. No messing.
Thank you very much, that's really nice too hear.
Started fitting my blanking plate to the sump on the weekend only to have the thread pull out of one of the holes.. Ggrrr.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit11.jpg
So picked up a helicoil set to repair it..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit10.jpg
Drilled it, tapped it..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit1.jpg
Knackered 2 coils putting them in wrong, (never fitted them before and it doesn't say which way they go)
Fitted, bolt does up nice and tight..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit14.jpg
Said blanking plate. Never good for the price, altho it doesn't really buff up :(
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit16.jpg
Cracked on with get the sump on and sorted..
Modified Clet/Zlet pick up pipe, with new GM seal.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit4.jpg
No the Zlet block and oil pump are all M8 bolts, so the sump needs drilling out to match..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit17.jpg
M8 fitted..lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit18.jpg
Drilling the baffle plate was very hard, as there are inserts where the bolts go thru, so they would just rip out when trying to drill. So i opened them up then just sat them in place with some sealant. Not the best but it will work as they are held in tight.
Gave all the bolts and quick buff to polish them up before fitting (they are all stainless)(not the best pic)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit3.jpg
Everything fitted, as per the book, i put a line of RTV sealant over the oil pump and crank joins. Then around the m8 holes in the oil pump and on the gasket just in case cause of the above drilling.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit7.jpg
Needs a clean up and wax.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/Sumprefit9.jpg
Looks ok tho, Leaving it to dry while i finish building the head up.
So i started with this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup9.jpg
Rolled it over and after a good clean and check I bolted the head on.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup11.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup12.jpg
My spare tappits have been soaking in cleaner for about a month.. Drained the cleaner out to find all this..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup14.jpg
Took them apart..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup15.jpg
You can see the dirt and stuff still in side..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup15.jpg
And the dirty still in the main part.. This is why you take them apart to clean them..(does by pushing my finger in the hole)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup13.jpg
Fitted them all...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup1.jpg
Gave my cams a good clean as they had got dusty.
New water pump fitted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup2.jpg
Backing plate fitted, found this difference with where the plate screws on to the Zlet pump..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup3.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup4.jpg
So fixed that with... (even lined them up)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup6.jpg
Got the rollers fitted and cambelt backing things fitted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup7.jpg
Removed and refitted the oil breather and dip stick pipe with a proper gasket.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup8.jpg
Picked up some bits from the polishers to day..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/04042011470.jpg
That's the alt casing, dropped that and the cam belt cover off to be chromed.
This happened last week...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/30032011469.jpg
Off to the body shop.
Got most of the under side undersealed. But my dented chassis leg was a bit worse than i thought, so had this knocked up to day to fix the prob...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/04042011471.jpg
Oh and did this while bored...

Dude you should give the car a new look for this years show season.
imo it would look great with colour coded bumpers with gloss black laguna splitter and gloss black finless GSI side skirts
Where do you get bits chromed ? im wanting a few bits done and trying to find a good chromer lol

No no no, gloss black? Hate black bumpers/shirts on a Nova. Cant stand Laguna spiltters either... and i did paint he bumpers blue ones, but wasn't a fan.
New rims would do me...

I'm lucky, i found a guy local that could do steel.. But most bits are alloy.. Was just gonna leave them polished, then remember there was another place.. Popped in and he can do alloy stuff, so have loads to take to him :)

Nice work, don't forget to oil up the followers before fitting the cams as I assume it's bad for them to be put in dry.
That oil pump doesn't look like too much of a chore to fit too, awesome

whats the point of the blanking plate on the sump?
good work as usual, keep it up.
Brucer it moves the oil level sensor fitted there as standard. Just a bit neater looking than cutting the wire off.

does the plug still need to be connected or will it not cause any fault stored in the ecu?
Wire isn't for the ECU it's for the warning light on the original vehicle is it not?

You cant fill them, the oil will drain out of the hole in them, like it does when the engines off. If just put them together in the oil bath (red tub) so there is lube in them. The pump fits in the same way a xe/Clet one does..

Brucer, as Iain said the oil level sensor is only in Cav/Cally's and Astra's. So there's no real point having it in a Nova, unless you wiring it all up to put a light on when the oil is low.

Now they are both straight and the other bit have been plated with 1.5mm thick metal so they are strong as funk.
Cleaned the sills off to, nice a clean. Bar a lil bit of surface rust around the drain holes which was treated while the floor got fully sealed.

Don't buy "filler" primer from Halfords its not worth it. Re primed at the body shop, flatted off.

Halfords filler primer isn't high build primer, Its like body filler primer.
Coming along well, Be even more awesome once this stage is completed.
Filler primer to me, means it will fill sanding marks.. Guess i'm not seeing it the right way.
Cheers dude, tank straps are being made pretty ;) so should complete the grey tank.. New braided stainless fuel lines to match that.

Damn mate, that's some work you've done there. Servo looks good in that colour. Halfords filler primer is a right ball ache takes absolute ages to dry properly and paint over.
No it's just sh*te.
Hoping the servo looks good that colour, was thinking about blue..
Chassis leg/underside was dealt with very nicely fella and Id be very happy with that. Im sure it will look fantastic painted and you will put us all to shame this year! On another note I wouldnt do the servo body colour as you need something to break up all the blue smooooooooothness in my opinion. ;)

Agree with Nick J dude. Needs other colours in the bay. Would look too blue even though it's a lovely colour.
They look straight as now, and i know there is nothing hiding under them as i've looked in them..lol Mirrors planned for billing....lol
That is the only thing putting me off painting the servo blue..

Good work Benn bays looking smooooooth , agree with you that halfords filler primer is utter to55
Went to local paintshop and used some proper stuff and was cheaper that halfrauds one anyways
Yeah proper stuff is always better. I should of tryed to save time doing it at home. And thank you.

IMO keep the servo gray, blue would look a bit tacky I reckon

Great update benn. Your Cars looking really well. Grey servo ftw. Can't wait to see it up close!
So found out yesterday that the water pump was wrong, as it was a late one. GGrrr, got that out, then me and Dan set about setting the timing and cams up with the adjustable pulley on the inlet.
So to day i wanted to get my inlet manifold built up and on..
First thing was remove the tb to see why the bolts had come undone. Did this to find the thread had pulled out of both holes.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9597.jpg
Set and tapping and helicoiling them to fix it.
Drilled and tapped.

Tb cleaned and refitted with a new gasket. Rebuild inlet. Really annoyed, i have a chromed fuel rail that i rebuild some where, cant find it for the life of me.. So a dirty one will have to do for the time.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9607.jpg
Clean surface ready for new inlet gasket and get all fitted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9620.jpg
Made sure these can all be got at from under the car just in case... Polished the jubliee clips too.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9608.jpg
Found that the lacquar had moved the base colour on the servo, so you could see the black i had used as a pre base.. So flatted it all off and repainted.

Its now been painted grey to match the servo, think that should look ok...
Re painted and lacquered all my brake lines too.
Then did a little polishing...
This bit gets forgotten about by alot of people, but you can see it as the dizzy mounts to it. So if you have a nice sexy dizzy and rocker cover, this can let it down... So sanded and semi polished.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9616.jpg
Started a new oil cap too... half and half jobbie..

It should be, i could get the car home to night as Paul had his kids, so we'll be loading it on the trailer tomoz and getting it home, so i can flat and polish the main bits in the bay, get the fuel tank fitted and the hand brake cables (new ones)
Wed night get the mc and servo and brake lines back in, i'll fit the clutch on and fit the gear box, then that can be fitted on Friday. Shafts and bits after that and rad and stuff. Need to check to see weather the ic pipes clear the F28 mount tho, of that will need a lil messing with..
I'm gonna drop the front ones down on to street box section, the rears i have some spacers for.
Wahey! That underside looks very nice. Surprised you stonechipped the outer sill though incase it looks less smooth.

Cracking work Benn, the underside came out really nice, I'll be doing the same in mine next time round. The gearbox surprised me, I guess the blue box will put more focus on the engine and fade the box out slightly. You've managed some nice touches to update an already finished car and give it another year of fresh attention.

Cheers Jeff, the under side is something i think that gets over looked, as alot will just leave it black (i did for a while) But when you see once done it makes the car a different class of wow. I did wanna polish the box, but it was gonna be the prob of all the small hard to get in too bits would have annoyed me, as they wouldn't be good enough for me. So paint it and detail it would polished/chromed bits seems the way for ward.
I don't think the car is finished. In my eyes it doesn't look finished. But it's getting there.

Benn if you scratch it a little putting the engine back in are you going to take it back out and paint again ? lol

Surely with the F28 you'll have to put it in from the bottom tho ? lol

been looking through your pics for replasing the chassis rails, i could realy do with doing mine as mine dont look the neatest thier solid enough though

did you weld the new plates in flush or cut and weld the new plate inside the chassis rail
btw that jack looks handy what are they called?

Thank you very much, Was really hard, the top was cut off so the side walls could be straighten out, then the top welded back on, then the front parts where plated over with thick steel so give some real strength.
I didn't use the nice bent bit i bought, but if you want more strength there i'd get something like that done and put it over the top of the lot.
No clue what the jack is called.
yeah i think im gonna do mine exactly how youve done yours
after years of being jacked up with crappy jacks has took its tool on the rails
plus ive found a hole at the inside of the sill lip beside the fron part that sticks out from the rail
It pleases me that you're forced to put the engine in from underneath.
New paint looks fantastic.

Same as mine where, guy that owned it before worked at Kwik fit, so they started bad and have got worse. But look like new now.
Cut the bit out where the holes is, fix the hole then weld it back in. The plate of the top.

From there i needed to get the engine off the stand so the flywheel could be fitted, but some one still has my lifting rig thing. So quickly knocked up this. The hooked ends fit perfect in the lifting hooks.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9643.jpg
Fly wheel with new bolts fitted (again, i seem to replace them every time the engines out) Did want a billet fly, but have been spending to much. So my lighten one will do. Sanded over the polished like bits from where the only clutch was slipping.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9644.jpg
Some reason i didn't take a pic of my nice new clutch... but its a "fast road" up rated clutch from Courtney Sport, rated to 270/280 brake.
Then moved to my water pump. Have has some many probs with finding one with metal impellers. Why the funk are they all made with plastic ones now????
In the end i've used my old one, will i say old. Its probably only done 8-10k max. Has no play or anything so.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9645.jpg
With that in, backing plate back on, cams in, just needs the belt on...
Moved to getting the gear box on, messed about trying to get the release bearing on, found the fork had moved as the bolt was missing.. Borrows a bolt from my spare one and sorted that out. Next getting the box on the engine... Sh*t me they are heavy when trying to get it on the engine/clutch. But did it first time, giving my self a head ache tho.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9651.jpg
I didn't finish bolting it up tho, as i found i couldn't pull the clutch arm back.. Should i be able to by hand?
Moved to getting the last two brakes lines on, as i gave them a fresh coat of paint...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9648.jpg
Blue and grey was the right way to go...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9647.jpg
Then did a bit of cleaning and painted my F28 mount (will be grey i think)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9650.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/IMG_9646.jpg
Think that's it...lol More on Monday...
definitely shouldn't be able to pull the fork back by hand! 270/280 rated clutch will have enough pressure to hold basically a big brake pad against a shiny smooth flywheel with an engine dropping 280 horses at it, even with a nice big lever it will take a big fat left kick on a long pedal to disengage it :)
Nice! I am displeased by the lack of your little army man in recent pics tho lol

Everything needs a clean off, not happy with the gear shifter bit tho, so think i'm gonna remove it and paint it. There are alot of bolts that need removing cleaning then either, painting or polishing...
Big big thanks to Dan and Peter. And to Dave.
good progress benn. the underside looks very nice indeed :thumb:

i reckon he was sick because he had to fit it the wrong way so he didnt want pics :thumb:
The right way! Maybe he was busy realising what a superior method of engine fitment it is and forgot the pics then?
Looks sweeet Sir Benn.
Going be a nightmare keep clean, especially the exhaust lol

lol rep away dude, rep away.
The under side needs a bit of a clean off now and the braided lines have chipped a bit of the paint so need to look at that, just order a new Chemical guyz clear spray wax to cover the under sides with to keep everything clean.
I'll be at all the shows so come say hello...
looks sweet benn, how often do you clean that exhaust? lol still looks as good (or better as you had it polished) as it did when you had it made.
Cheers dude, tbh. I've never cleaned the system bar the rear box. It was very stained with oil and dirt and the center box was badly scratched where it grounds out.. The polishers did a fantastic job with it. It looks better than new. I'm gonna wax the tits out of it before use.
Just Epic mate.

Thank you Sir, means alot to hear that.
The right way! Maybe he was busy realising what a superior method of engine fitment it is and forgot the pics then?
No, it isn't the right way at all. Its more work in my eyes as getting it around the streering rack can be a tw@t. But needs a must. Any other lump i'd fit from the top.. It just the size of the F28 make things harder.. But it was a mostly easy fitting so that all the matters.
I did tho just for get to take pics..lol
Looks sweeet Sir Benn.
Going be a nightmare keep clean, especially the exhaust lol

Cheers dude, hopefully with good cleaning stuff i should be ok. Plus the local tyre place i use said i can use the ramps to clean the under side..lol

Looks absolutely fantastic. It's fecking spanking! I'm inspired by your commitment to your car benn. Truly stunning although I can see it being impossible to keep clean and use it everyday like you do. The colour codded gearbox is my favourite thing, it's just mental! Some chromed engine mounts would just finish this off!
Are you keeping the cav turbo wheels? I think they suit it with them being polished just keeps with the shiney theme. Could you get some stretched tyres for it? Maybe that would kind of give you a bit of a euro look.
I cant thank you enough for you kind and very nice works, it really does make the hard work worth it.
I have been thinking of chroming the front engine mount.. But getting on the inside faces would be hard, so thought about just painting it bumper grey...
I have enough stuff to keep it clean, believe me..lol
Wheel wise, i still want something else, i just don't think the turbo rims give it enough... Show i guess.. There are a few wheels i like but it's finding on that is right... That is proving to be really hard.. I'd love some old school BBS, or something.. Maybe some Brocks or something...
I don't mind stretch tyres, but i'd do that for clearance over looks, so no real point at the mo.. And as i like to jump it and and rag the ar$e out of it i'd be a bit worried on really full on cornering with a stretch...

Thank you Matt, looks better now the rear box is ok.

What's the crack with the boost pipes then ? You havnt changed anything down there have you ?
It's where the mount is now is the prob. As it's right in the way...lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/buildup10.jpg
Filled it with grease and fitted the outer part of the shaft.. New cv boot came in the kit, but used these stupid clips.. Normally not bad, but the bit you crush just wouldn't crush.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/buildup14-1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/buildup26.jpg
Never been happy with the turbo water hose. If i wanted it any where near right it touched the rad. So i cut up a old hose, now i can add a straight bit with a joiner to that end^ then the rest of the hose for the shape.. And it will look much better.
Apsolutley fantastic benn like people have said it looks cleaner on the underside than most on the panels lol looks better then when it first left the factory imo.
lol thank you very much. Underside side needs a clean tho..lol
As usual Benn, looks top notch. Is that the exhaust welsh coast customs made?

Thank you Sir.
Yea Gareth at Welsh Coast Customs made the system up, with a TX down pipe welded in.
The mount/pipe issue is a very annoying one. But hoping it wont be to hard to fix.

Then plugged all the loom in fully, hid the coil and plugged that in.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/bennh/Car%20Updates%20May%2010%20on/enginebuildup35.jpg
To have added to the end of the ic, so i can have a small silicone joiner and it should be ok.
Fitted my rad in too to make sure everything clears.

Why do you need an ABS outer CV joint?
Coming together nicely now, perhaps grab a TX Autosport rear water pipe to replace the black plastic one?
the turbo looks abit grubby.
what about ceramic coating....Chrome style
p.s i know thats a wastegate!

The cv hits the outer of the bearing so wont turn, but if i use a abs one the ring sits against the inner of the bearing so it moves freely..
I have thought of it, but you can really see much of it so didnt really see the point.. But i prob will.

If you need rid of the 5 stud, I'd possibly be interested:).
Also, what rust protection are you using? I need to get my new one all protected:)
Dinitrol is good stuff, or Waxoyl
Fill every box section with either IMO will stop a Nova rotting from inside out
Rich put loads in everywhere before I got the shell off him
You filled any box sections/chassis legs with anything Benn ?

Painted, polished or chrimed oil filter this year Benn?

Some one asked ages ago about them.
I use a spray called "waxseal" its a cavity style wax in a spray can, with a long nozzle. I get it from work, used it a few times (in the new doors)
So i'll be using that in the chassis where it was welded. I tend to spray it in till it runs out then end..lol

I dont rate Waxoyl at all. But anything is good.
I watched where the smoke was coming from when the chassis was being welded and plated, so will fill the holes with the stuff i have till it comes from the bottom.

I've polished a new up a few pages back, just need to fil the colour in, in the letters.
Had a phone call that the welder was working on my intercooler and wanted to make sure it was right, so not wanting to hold him up i jumped on my bike and headded off.
Got there and showed him what was needed and asked to have the DV out let added in. He then told me my tie bar mounts where all done. Which was a very nice surprise, told me the cooler would take 30mins so i wanted around..
Finished cooler (bar a clean)

Hope to get more done tomoz.
I hope, for your sake, no oil leaks!!
Looking forward to the next update!
Me too, i'll be mega pissed off. Up date wasn't great.
Underside is minter than most exteriors!
Good job - will be looking around this at the shows this year for sure!
I need to clean the out sides, there are small spalters of under seal in a few places
Will be at the shows so come say hi.
makes me want to start again :(lol
keep at it benn , you'll find a solution to that turbo pipe.
on your bottom rad hose, what size hoses have you got coming off the rad and off the plastic coolant pipe? i measured mine today which are both differant sizes.
Erm... I'll measure in a bit...
I have a better plan, that is get a bit of stainless tube bent, so you'll see a shiney L with a silicone joiner at each end..
Need to see about ends for me oil cooler tomoz, so gonna see if they can do anything..
Why? Yours is awesome!
I'm just loving the polished stuff I think lol and cheers
I'm not sure if lots of polished bits would suit the Sport either
I have got someone to make me a stainless down pipe fir my 1300 turbo tho lol I'll polish that up lol

Glad your liking it, takes ages to do..lol Polished stuff can look right in many places you just have to be careful. If you have anything in stainless, polish it up.

Its all to do with making it look different each season IMO, even if its small things, and i think your aware that your car is ripe for some new rims to make it stand out and if you get the right ones it will be almost the perfect show nova...:thumb:
Yep yep, hence why i take it apart every winter..lol

Those Lenso wheels in that link are lovely Scott! Any idea on the offset?

Love the wheels in the first link, i'd have them in a sec. With maybe blue centers. Iirc you can get them made in the offset and bits you want...
