you hear the pit radio telling the driver they are on schedule now.....which means they are driving to a set time limit per lap...

More like planned Fuel usage, not time limit per lap.

No it's not, running an engine on "full power" will be on it's richest setting so use more fuel. If the tyres have no grip, with the increase in performance, it doesn't mean you'll get quicker laps.
Therefore you use more fuel than "planned" for the same lap time and risk running out of fuel.

mowgli
22-11-12, 08:03 PM
they spend friday testing the life of the tyres & the fuel usage.. they then calculate all sorts of factors to work out their race pace & fuel loading..
it used to be the driver working it out as he went along, and, yes, people cooked their tyres & ran out of fuel, but that was part of the racing.

going on wikipedia & correcting some wrong info about our local town that was put on by some pillock who thinks the council will rename the area he lives on to 'saxon-paddock' because the road thru the estate is called paddock way & he's decided to say saxon archaeology was found there.... the problem was that our firm actually did the dig.. saw what came out the ground and read the report, there was no saxon stuff.....he also posted a link to his website that called everyone in our town names for a multitude of reasons.. it is now correct & verified, so i can't wait for the stink from it.....i can be very spiteful at times

this bloke is our version of those idiots who buy a house near an airport & then complain about the noise..

Personally, I would enjoy scaring a few people with a JC-like rise from the dead.

andy.. there isn't much you can change when putting potato sticks in hot oil...... come on & fess up

Andy
16-12-12, 05:03 PM
ok lol
i add in a mild curry paste to the oil and mix it in,then coat all the chips in it and oven cook them.
Makes them golden brown and with a little, but not overpowering kick of curry flavour.

mowgli
16-12-12, 05:05 PM

After this reply in the 'Whats pissed you off today thread'

Got a massive chip in the top corner of my screen this morning, stupid Audi, was overtaking him on the dual carriageway leaving hull, he floored it and cut out in front of me (was only a 1.9 TDi) couldn't pull away from me and wouldn't move over, I let off at about 80, and went to move over and SMASH, massive stone flew out from his offside rear wheel, saw it coming straight for the middle of my screen, braked and changed lanes quickly, still caught it right in the top corner of the drivers side of my screen (the original top tint one too I might add) I wanted to

I remembered that im fully comp on the nova, rang sky to see if im covered for windscreen damage, spoke to Connie who is/was very helpful and found out yes im covered for a repair, so i toddled off to my local National Windscreens to enquire as to how to go about it (got to ring a booking number which is a pain, but meh) and also asked an engineer to have a spy and let me know if it is repairable, and yes it is, brilliant :thumb:

Also took the nova to the buy time jet-wash at the top my street, and gave all the underside and wheelarches a damn good jetting out, gave her a light rinse down (three coats of AG Super Resin means the muck just fell off) then back home, leathered and re-covered her again (rained last night/today, dont like the nova being out from under the cover when it rains) time to put my feet up and crack a beer methinks :d

yer, i honestly couldnt see the reason for spending that kinda extra money on a pedal bike, it was only being used for riding around the streets, maybe it has some part in downhill racing but how many people use them for that, proberly the same percentage of people that use 4x4's off road lol

i've been having bother with my abs......

don't worry, its not medical or fitness related....

my abs on my lorry trailer has been intermittently throwing up a fault code, and its been annoying me a lot.. new sensors, flashing the codes out, checking the wiring etc..

finally, today i fixed it. the sensor exciter rings are a cast part of the disc, and they were corroded, and it only senses on the middle axle (of three) and i fitted new discs on the middle axle... a simple 6 hrs ball-ache of a job... involving amongst other things, a torque wrench set at 700NM, a 1"drive air wrench, a large rubber sledgehammer(actually its called a maul) & a first aid kit

and it is sorted.... you see, if a car has an abs fault, you might see a little sign on your dash... but on a wagon, there is a green light on the front of the trailer that comes on when you brake, and our friends from vosa drive round looking for them, so my ar$e can stop twitching quite so much when they drive by

Ive provisionally been offfered a job!!! :d:d:d:d:d

Got to pass a hearing and eyesight test before it can be confirmed but they should be quite easy.

7 months of looking and the end might finally be in sight!

the eyesight might be a problem, especially if you show them a photo of jack.........

well done.. if i'm ever arrested in avon & zummerzet, i'll be thinking of you

A quite incredible bonus from work considering I'm in the discretionary bonus scheme. Shame the government will be helping themselves to 40% of it.
