I got back to the yard to see several people trying to start one of our old L200 pickups... they'd been at it an hour, and were using easy start.... so after they gave it up as a dead loss, I offered to have a go.. jumped in, & turned the key. The fuel gauge was on empty, so I checked the fuel filter... it was empty... 1 jug of diesel later and it was running perfectly. I keep telling the lads to look for the simple things first..

Took my old dog to the vets today to have some staples removed from his ear due to my dogs deciding to have a full blow fight the mongs...and after a lot of hard work runs and walks etc...he has lost 2.5kgs 1/1.5 kg more and he will be back at his ideal weight very happy :)

My brother got driven into the other week and in an effort to see the number plate of the other car in the rear view mirror as it sped off he grazed the side of a van.

We left a note on the van with our details.

He barely touched it, when we looked at it there was barely a mark, almost impossible to see unless someone told you it was there.

Just fond out from the insurance company that the guy is claiming to replace the entire panel, the rear door, light cluster and have the lot re-sign written, £2,800. As it's all on a company fleet policy my premium is directly related to any claims costs. So in an effort to do the right thing this chap has taken the proper piss.

So there are decent chaps amongst us but there are also people that take the biscuit, I even offered him £500 cash to not go through the insurance and not look at the non existent mark on his van!!!!!!

On Friday I went to my mate's house to try and figure out where it's leaking in from, and we thought we found it, so we applied some bondo on it, some sealer on top and painted the entire scuttle panel. And it rained today, and am happy to announce, I'm leak free.

I was toying with the idea of the Z5 premium as I get friends and family discount through EE but the premium is such a big phone I didn't think it was worth getting just for more RAM and a 4K screen, the camera on this is really really good but after owning a Samsung for 2 years then going to this Z5 it feels bare as it doesn't come pre loaded with a lot of apps, but on the flip side this is a good thing too as its less clutter, I'm just used to the Samsung I suppose.

The thumb print unlocking is good though, just press the unlock button then hold your thumb on and it unlocks it, I think apple were the first to use this but either way you wont look like a sheeple with this, waaaaaaaay better than an iphail (yesterdays technology at tomorrows prices)

Thanks Pete, they're looking into my cards and a current loan I'm still paying that I've had for 7 years through Lloyds, also x2 credit cards that I never even had which I supposedly paid PPi on :roll::eek:

I had over the 16 year period they're looking into about 8 different loans with the AA and Lloyds so god know if I'll get a decent amount or not, fingers crossed though ;)

I bought the stuff with the intention of doing all my nova bits and maybe make some money on the side. Only problem with chrome is it needs a clear coat ontop for any hard wearing parts which significantly reduces how shiny it is. After the clear coat I wouldn't call it chrome at all.

Bought a Volvo V40 (V reg, 1999) due to starting the job and it turns out to be THE most comfortable car I've ever owned! So smooth so comfortable has tape AND CD player 73K on the clock loooooooooooads of service history, OK it has a couple of small issues but the ride and feel of it, even in corners, for a long fairly heavy car its so good! ​


Downside is its a 1.6, its too heavy for a 1.6 engine in my opinion but its pulls OK.

Not bad for £230!

I cant explain how happy this car makes me, I've always like Volvo's and now I'm old (turned 30 ten days ago) its only right I slow down and do old man things.

Electric mirrors & windows, air con, heated seats so spacious and comfortable! Does seem to be a tad thirsty not sure if its the way I'm driving it (I know air con doesn't help) but it does seem to have a very slight stutter in second gear which could be lambda/afm or something like that, no lights are on the dash though hmmm

Some scuffs here and there and the rust (common places are front wings and rear arches as pictured) might replace the front wings as I think this one is a keeper! Clutch peddle is fairly stiff too which is strange.
