Well I was gonna leave it until I had the confirmation and all paperwork through but... joining the automotive industry lol Doing something very similar to what I wanted in motorsport and working for a performance/luxury manufacturer along with the opportunity coming up so soon and salary involved easily swayed it for me and I'm really looking forward to it tbh.

Had an interview with Jaguar Land Rover and they offered me the job there and then! Hectic couple of weeks sorting out a place to rent and all sorts of other hassle now!

Looks like my work is going to pay for me to do a degree :)

Just double check what they're actually paying for, and how many days you're working/doing a degree.

My tuition fees total about 19,000-20,000, yours will be 3x that due to the new tariffs... however that's a very small chunk of a 180,000 pie that includes living costs of around 42,000, loss of earnings of 90-130,000 due to full time education etc etc.

Assuming they continue paying you at the same kind of rate and your living costs are going to be similar though, go for it! :)

bazzap8389

I think everything except the books really, illnonly have to pay the money back if I leave within 2 years of passing the course. I've got my hnc just now so need to do hand and degree.

I'll still be on my same wages etc it will be a day realease course by the looks of it :)

I was responsible for the body electronics of the huayra (along with the head unit and HVAC control too). I have left that and will be working on the rail network control.... Can't make that any worse lol

not particularly fast compared to the winner, but certainly not a sloth. the fastest time was 20.4 seconds, by a bloke who does a lot of this & fabricated his at a cost of several thousands... rosie managed 28 seconds.. we had not managed any testing & only finished it 15 mins before booking in.. the braking was a compromise & on the 1st run, she clattered a barrier & landed on a drain grate, ripping the rh rear corner off.. the stewards were mightily surprised when i tore off in my pickup to a local farm & had it rewelded & back in the line in time for the 2nd run....lol lol lol

it is definitely getting some improvements & testing before next year..

They were handing out leaflets as the gym was just opening so I went along to see what it was like. I was really out of shape so first session was a killer then gradually got easier as I went more and I really got into it. Even though some of the other lads had boxed before, because it was just starting up I wasnt as nervous about going along. Just try out a local gym and see how you get on.

Expect intense training - its great once you start to get fitter, hard at first lol

I had a problem with a tree in the garden backing onto mine. It must have been 70-80 foot high and was a nightmare. The roots were everywhere in my garden, it filled my garden with leaves many times over in autumn, it left my garden in shade in the afternoon and branches kept dropping down etc etc.
Woke up one morning in 2008 to find one of the main branches had landed in my garden, mainly on my shed which was full of panels at the time like new doors etc!!!!

So you'll save a bit of cash then, by a bike and cheap from the bin...lol

I was gonna take my car over a they'll pay £250 towards fuel (I get 630 mile to about £90, its 1100 miles away) but Sky wont insure me for 6 months out of the UK :(

EDIT: And ill be paying 40% tax on my earnings aswell.

My mum got offered a new job today...2 days after finishing her old one lol

She had worked for RBS/Natwest for last 30 years (part time for last 20+) but they have closed the call centre where she worked. Decent payout which has got my mum and dads mortgage paid off plus another 5/6 grand spare. I'm being nice to them lol

i agree. its still not as good as my telly.....

the mother in law didn't have a car & lives 30 miles away.. we were visiting & she asked us to take her telly to the tip as it had stopped working just out of warranty. its an LG 32" hd flatscreen.... so i said i'd bring it home & have a look at it 1st. 5 mins on the interweb & i'd ordered a repair kit.. 6 upgraded capacitors were soldered in & we've had it for 2 years & it is excellent. outlay £6.
