mowgli
27-10-12, 10:20 PM
/\ did you bring them back after?????? lol lol

well. i mended our log splitting machine & sorted out connecting it to run 3 phase leccy instead of a tractor power shaft.. ... it has trees put in one end & logs come out the other.... so that was nice... then i sorted out all the mistakes that our office managed to create in the last month, and finally, i fixed our telescopic forklift's quick attach mechanism, which was due to abuse/neglect, and fitted a complete new exhaust system to it...

then i ate curry & am working my way thru a selection of real ales... and avoiding watching the a team film.

We just did some local trials, but as im sure you will know, wet leaves, rain and gloopy mud really take it out of you, i think we did about sixteen miles but id say 60% was uphill, offroad, and im waayy out of shape and had a bit of a struggle with it, but the 1993 lava dome performed flawlessly, barring the bit on a technical descent where i ran out of talent (used to sus forks and not used to rigid) and lost the front wheel on a wet root, ooh, hello bramble bush

My right arm now looks like ive had a word with mr krueger lol

Dunno what im doing with the Klein as yet, but it was epic cheap so i couldnt say no :d

28-10-12, 07:03 PM
Oh yeah, I can relate. Today my mates Specialized was on semi slicks, and with SPD's, so he kept stopping on the technical stuff and a couple of times I fell off/front wheel slipped under me as I wasn't expecting him to do what he did.

I was overprepared today for a change. Too many layers! Sounds like you chose a different way! lol

Its because im tall, and have long legs, the caldera is an 18" and the lava dome is a 19", they equate to about 17 and 18 as kona's have dropped top tubes dont they lol

Both posts are in the frame well below the insertion marks on them, thats one thing im wary of is damaging the frames, as it will be hard to replace both of them in my eyes

Pleasure is today....

Dropping off some paperwork to my neighbours, proving that a strip of land behind my stable block, which they believed was theirs for the past 23 years, is actually mine:d

When they dismissed my statement that the land was infact mine, after telling my father that I had been trespassing on their land.lol

Really funny as they suggested that another stable (which is on the boundary and has been there that past forty years plus) was in their opinion encroaching over the boundary, by 32"s)
maybe it drifted a bit:roll:

Neighbours :wtf:

I await them confirming I am correct...................might be a while:d

It exists, but there are legal obsticals, they believed the land was theirs, never been a dispute till now, I do wonder if they will try that tact, but all the documentation is clear, I think they have shot their bullets, and have now been shown incorrect, claiming squatters rights now will look lame as they thought it was theirs and said so

We moved in 4 1/2 years ago, the land registry reflects the land as it is now, and it is what we signed for and I have land registry/documents from 1919 on.

we once had a clear up job behind an indoor bowls club.. because of existing trees & planning rules, they had to leave a 3m wide margin behind the building.. some kids were setting fires.. we had to fell all small trees, clear scrub etc, and basically re level it..
we totally removed several 'extended' gardens.. but we did leave the slabs & furniture in each persons garden. the plot was L shaped & when we were round one side, 2 lads were trying to light the pile of wood round the other side.. we chased them off.. later on the dad of one of them appeared playing hell up about us moving his garden.. so we pointed out that the 2 lads who were the cause of it ran back into his house... that solved the problem

a farmer friend ploughed a field that had been set aside for a year next to a housing development, and smashed about 20 illegal gardens up....they tried to get him arrested....he got them done for trespass & fly tipping

Sebastian Vettel starting last at the F1 Grand Prix tomorrow has made me happy lol
tbf it was a schoolboy error, not enough fuel for a sample...

button got a ban in the bar honda for that years back...

i have a distant relative who works at williams & at a family do the other week, he was telling me a tale about red bulls abilities with carbon fibre.. he'd heard about some sort of clever chip that was able to alter the characteristics of a cf component. a red bull sponsored snowboarder had something similar in his board... i'd heard they had some clever stuff to do with understanding cf on a molecular level, which is how they have managed to beat the 'stick a heavy weight on the front wing' deflection test, yet run their wings lower in the race...

my eldest daughter got herself grounded after deciding not to answer her phone having gone off to her boyfriends house after meeting him in town (they are 14) without anyone knowing about it...leaving my mrs & me in such a state, we were about to call the police & report her missing, it was not funny at all

the last 10 days have been a game of cat & mouse involving her stealing phones, DSI's & laptops from her sisters to keep herself connected on facebook, and as an example, she would be in bed for 11pm, and when i get up at 4am to go to work, i'd find her asleep with yet another device in her hand, & connected to fb.. seriously, if she'd put as much effort into good causes, the world would be a much better place...

my happy is this...

i've never bothered to use facebook because i have no interest in other peoples toileting habits....but tonight, i managed to hack her account & change the email addresses & passwords. so she has no contact at all with the outside world via any form of media apart from our land line & she needs permission for that..

Luckily for me, I never go anywhere fancy. That couldn't have happened to you at a worse time, could it! lol

I plan to finish it off with some of the paste polish. I will be sure to buff it all off!

Hopefully, I have turned a 50+ quid steering wheel into a 100 quid one. Well, as long as it resembles one, that will do me.

He asked first..

"Do you want to buy a set of speedlines for your nova"

Me "Ive got a set of five already"

Him, "Oh, what about some FK coilovers"

Me, "Already got some on"

Him, "Oh, do you wanna buy a redtop"

Me, "Mines a 2.0 16v already"

Him, "Oh, not anything i can sell you then.."

Ive got FK blue's, theyre alright but to keep a decent rideheight, (and not on its ringpiece) ive had to remove the helpers, and they make a noticeable difference, theyre a little bouncy on undulating roads, and tbf im thinking of going back to proper dampers and fixed springs, as with the helpers in place the platforms catch the backs of the tyres, i could refit the helpers but id have to run it scene low, and i dont want a smurf hanged on my towing eye thankyou:eek:

Edit, sounds like theyre the same as Rich has found them^^^^

Initially I thought she wouldn't hang around, so I started doing inside the arches, wheels etc to stop her getting the backlash, but then she started tutting to herself and giving me the evil eye, so I went back to where I had been - the roof.

Move you imebicle! I was outside the house, and there was no reason for her to stand where she did (when someone is already there), not like it's a bus stop or something.

Well there was a drain backing up and flooding a water course, day shift driver turned up early afternoon and took 4 4,000 gallon loads out, I took over at 6pm and continued to pump out, 40mins to load the truck then pop round the corner to tip down a free flowing main drain. By 9pm I had managed to start emptying it quicker then it was filling. Then my boss gets a call saying what I was doing was illegal, and that if I continued they will call the police. So we reported the complaint to Thames water, and I wasted best part of an hour explaining to different departments the situation. Was obviously told to carry on pumping and 40,000 gallons and a few hours later I had got the drain down to the bottom. So at 1am (should've been 00:00 had I been left alone) I switched everything off and had a kip. Kept checking every hour but it didn't start filling again. Day shift took over at 7am and hopefully I got enough volume out last night, so when the peak flow happened at 8am he could keep on top of it.

Makes me laugh, some people just flush the loo and think it just magically disappears... :wtf:

i make food strech as well, my mum taught me how to cook on a budget, so a chicken becomes 3 meals the 3rd normally being a nice broth or soup which helps alot and when i make a chilli or curry i will freeze loads

I thought I'd sort a leak on my Grandads heating as I was about to leave, ive been decorating his room, clock said 1.30am . Went under the floor to check if there's enough microbore to cut the leaking soldered joint part of and pull more pipe up to reach the valve, done that refilled and bled and no leaks yay.

i would be happier if you found some sunny d that tasted like it use to, the new stuff is horrid

We make Sunny D, we have just gone back to a recipe that is very similar to the old stuff, so look out for that, the reason it changed was that the Food Standard people said there was too much sugar in it lol

Just make candles out of ear wax and burn your poo for heat. :thumb:

I was more referring to the fact I would rather buy good cuts of meat from the butcher than have sky tv. That sort if cut backs. :)

when you get your benefits approved, a van pulls up outside with a trailer.... the van is the sky bloke & the trailer has 1 enormous tv, a collection of knock off designer sportswear, 10 gallons of cider, 3000 cheap fags and a small filthy child with snot everywhere...... well, they seem to in hinckley....

mr internet doesnt have live streaming with a good picture tho
bbc highlights are ok
yawnfest ? you been watching last year on repeat ? lol apart from vettel's few in a row its been excellent imo, last race in Austin was epic imo

Has been a great season imo. Shame Ze German is gonna win again but there is no doubting he is a good driver. As for watching on sky, even if I had it I would rather watch it on the beeb.

Stuart
22-11-12, 01:08 PM
I've had access to Sky Go to watch the F1 on there, I tried it and couldnt stand it even for qualifying, back to the BBC for fantastic coverage even if some of it is 'only' highlights' (feels like they only skip 1 lap though lol )

Edd
22-11-12, 01:09 PM
BBC is better i agree, i always watch it on there if its live, they have had a few years to refine their coverage

Sky is a bit poor imo, but it will get better, the bloke commentating with Brundle is a complete tool tho, always shouting and talking over team radio, he needs to go lol Georgie Thompson makes up for it being a bit crap tho lol

on the beeb:
quali takes 1hr
race usually takes 1 1/2 hrs, except for monaco...
post race twaddle takes 20 mins..
then eddie jordan takes some lsd & tries to explain his version of the race..10 mins..
job jobbed

but on sky.... they keep on at it, describing some infinitessimally small thing to drag it out to the next ad break.......

edd, i have fallen asleep watching three races this year....

valencia.... it was a 2hr drivers parade
monaco wasn't up to much tbh
what surprised me was how good the abu dhabi race was this year....
and the austin race was rather good..funny how making a decent track adds to the fun

Virgin gave me Sky Sports free for a weekend.

It was an F1 weekend.
After starting to watch the Grand Prix on Sky, it got turned over to the BBC.
Saved me considering spending the extra for SkyF1, the coverage is not up to BBCs standards at all.

As for the season, it's been the best for a few years.

yeah, but its a shame its down to tyre management & the drs thing...

i actually miss the balls out racing like when hakkinen went head to head with schumi.....the drivers might get 10 full speed laps in a weekend now... its a bit like sportscar racing now, you hear the pit radio telling the driver they are on schedule now.....which means they are driving to a set time limit per lap...
