Get a grip Edd, you've a cracking Nova that most on would love to own.

How time flies, my wife says I never listen lol

Get the house how you want it to maybe sell on if your not happy, at the end of the day your Novas pretty much complete and you could always store it for a year... What's the rush in spending more money on it bearing in mind you don't often take it to shows, that ain't a dig mate btw.

Edd
11-04-14, 10:56 PM
I would like to take it to shows tbh, BUT our wedding anniversary is the 13th July, Billing weekend lol they need to change the date!

Plus my shift pattern don't help with going to shows, always seem to be working

There is still much to improve on with the Sport tho imo

today, my wpyot was a run in with a cop. he decided I was using my phone, when I wasn't, and really didn't like me being uncooperative over it.. he was a right ar$e and was being aggressive, so I thought, feck it... 15 mins later, I drove off having been repeatedly threatened with being put in front of a judge but as the cop had nothing more than having seen me scratching my left ear, he wasted 2 people's time.

some of you may know I work in a hospital, got a text over the weekend to say a family friend had fallen down the stairs and was in intensive care over the bank holiday. i couldn't find out much as the family asked the ward not to give out any details.

Today i popped in to see him and they have performed a craniotomy on him and completely removed the left hand side of his skull. apparently he fractured his skull in three places and the subsequent brain swelling would have killed him without removing the side of of head. he was awake but his eyes weren't tracking together and I don't think he knew who i was.

the poor bugger lost his 9 year old daughter many years ago due to a terminal illness and both his sons have downs syndrome. his wife passed away last week and he fell two days before the funeral.

i went to visit him on behalf of my wives family and after briefing them of his condition, they didn't seem keen on visiting him due to the state he is in.

what the poor sod needs now is friends to support him and i hope they suck it up and go visit.

It hadn't occurred to me that he had done it on purpose. Honestly I'd understand if he had as it hasn't got a lot going for him. Been broke all his life. Spent all his money making sure his daughter had a real nice life before she passed away. she was a lovely little girl and never complained. He wouldn't look me in the eye when I went to see him and he is really down in the dumps.

He hasn't told anyone how it happened.

Ordered 6 engine bay bottom cover from a place in Berlin, Germany, 4 weeks ago. Had the lot delivered to an address in the south of Germany. Travelled 400 miles to get there last week, only to find they sent off 5 instead of 6 covers. One week after I went there, the 6th cover arrived. Imbeciles.

Some genital drove into my car at a set of traffic lights damaging my rear wing and causing me to spill coffee all over my downstairs area. Then had the cheek to fly off down a one way so I couldn't follow him. Only then for the woman behind me that witnessed it all to start beeping at me to get out the way. WTF like the bloke just hit me she could have gone around. I didn't even get the plate, most of it buffed out but it pushed the wing in slightly so my wheels keep fowling on the inner lip even though they're rolled. Pissed isn't even the word. Rant over.

But then ya get the "well at least iv got my pride" brigade.

Its a sad state of affairs if dole pays more than a 40hr week.

19-07-14, 07:18 PM
Had a pic of it on the deck layed out it's impossible to see how it would fit and I had a feeling it was not the best finish but had enquired about the possibility of having that sorted so I had an idea it was

but never had a clue it needed 30 mm - nothing cutting out of it to make fit that's 75% of the spoiler on one side in the middle section
It was made at CM Comosites so I believe

Southie
19-07-14, 07:21 PM
It must have been a very very early product as his quality now is far far better than that tbh. Must have been a wet lay over the top than vaccumed as he does now.

dgbnova#1
19-07-14, 07:57 PM
It's old and was an overlay of an original spoiler so what you see is what's normally the back bit that's not the Problem I understand it's rough looking that can be sorted it's the fact it's been moulded around a spoiler not fitted to a boot so miles out

at the end of the day if it was wrong Colin should have gone back to Chris re it ages ago I got it last week and I got it off Colin not Chris so it's not his problem I would have liked some advice on it though if it could be re shaped somehow but nothing I'm assumed no

Southie
19-07-14, 08:21 PM
Thing is I suspect that spoiler is over 4 years old so the twill will be all over the place, it also looks to have twisted really badly. I suspect Colin bought it for a visual use though and not for anything else.
How much did you pay for it anyway? Probably cheaper to carbon wrap a SR spoiler for the same effect I reckon.

dgbnova#1
19-07-14, 09:12 PM
It's not an sr one it's irmscher 3 piece

its
been made twisted from the get go

Southie
19-07-14, 09:25 PM
I've known him far far longer mate, tbh it's not his concern now with it being a product he made ages ago. The condition of the product when he first made it should have been sent back by Colin if he at the time had an issue with it.

I never once said it was I did ask his advice as to if I can do something about it but got no reply

As you see that was the only reply I got though

Not sure what your getting at ?

At at the end of the day it's crap it was made wrong that's more than evident
it should have gone back straight away that's not my issue
i asked for a refund from Colin and return within 2 days of having it that is the only reply I have does that explain it better

It's down to Colin and yourself tbh and Chris really has nothing to do with it that's what I mean, that product was made a long time ago as I've said.

Hope you get something sorted though as this has naff all to do with me.

I have no problem with you over this Chris I never got it off you never said it was you who made it till I was asked my problem is it's now mine it's absolute crap and I wanted to return it days ago
I did send you the pics of it and asked advice you never replied but was not asking you for anything more than that I never got it of you and at the end of the day I wanted it for my car
As to dates it's not important I never raised that ether

I asked who made it to see who made it, obviously with you saying CMcomposites and me knowing about the original year it was made I thought I'd help out for you, I don't know Colin so can't help out at that end for you sadly.

Citroën BX predictably failed its MoT. Go to order parts, asked for pricing, got told "naah it's not too bad". Then when I collect the lot (rear disks and pads, a lower ball joint and a couple of rubber bits), it was about £100 more than anticipated. When I got home I discovered one of the rubbers was the wrong one. That from a bloody Citroën specialist! Oh and the effing ball joint refuses to come off, despite giving it hell.

This morning we had some torrential rainfall, the garage roof decided to start leaking like a proper bitch and the VW Lupo sunroof was leaking as well. Just bloody great. GRRRR.

*EDIT* the lower ball joint has come off, courtesy of a local 2CV specialist. He used a special socket (Sealey SX027) along with the mother of all air impact wrenches and hey presto - job done. He fitted the new lower ball joint, all FOC. This man has earned himself a new customer. :thumb:

Wtf thats ridiculous :wtf: its not like she is driving or operating heavy machinery that could result in serious or fatal injuries. I'm guessing they are covering their arses insurance-wise, but how badly does she actually suffer?

doesn't it involve lifting large weights either on bars or on a machine?? having a fit whilst lifting something could be quite dangerous..

as for the £186, that is unspeakable.. write you your mp about it, or better still, go to a local paper

She probably has about 6 fits a year on average, so not as bad as some people, never be able to drive tho

The classes she does are yoga, some form of soft kick boxing and water aerobics, this is what is comes from they think she might drown, always goes to the gym with her sister tho and she knows the score, never been a problem for years mind

and yeah £186 is a full piss take

i mentioned the local rag but she wont want the bother of it all tbh

Which should I look for then as I'm back to square 1 now lol or should I use the machined astra ones in my shed?

Benn
06-08-14, 04:25 PM
Who machined them? Do they know what they are doing? THe reason they break for is cause no one machined a radius in the bottom surface for the bearing to run in...

LFM did good ones iirc.
