sadly, there is a law that involves being able to prove who these people actually are...

some might say that the jihadists have played a smart game here.. there are lots of islamic charities sending volunteers to the area with humanitarian aims. it would be impossible to try to differentiate between them.

and what if, for example a 'jihadist' flies to germany to 'visit relatives'.. and once inside the eu, where there is free movement, he can go wherever he wants before flying on to the middle east.. again, it is impossible to track him.

the only way to find these people is if members of the islamic community, at massive risk, dob them in to the authorities..

so cameron is not a bell-end because of the jihadists...

a relative of mine was waiting around for some people to view his house.... time was getting on & he was planning to get to a pub to watch the rugby....
2 people knocked on the door, so he ushered them in, gave them the 5 star tour of the house, and was in the process of showing them the garden when they finally admitted that in fact, they were jehovas witnesses, not prospective buyers.

the one that really gets my goat is the 2 people that go thru the drive thru, then park in the car park, or right near it & throw all their wrappers out the window course by course... my mrs gets really upset when i go up to them, pick up the rubbish & post it back thru the window.... it always gets a response, but it takes more than 2 chavs on a diet of greasy crap to scare me these days

Sooo true. I have done nearly everything in our house since we moved in, only calling on trades people only when absolutely necessary.
The only guys I can rely on are my dad, the father-in-law & a **** hot plasterer we use.
Had one c'unt of a gas fitter. Did all the prep work for our fire so all he had to do was fit a liner, connect up the gas to the fire and sign it off. Took him just over half a day and he tried to charge me for two days. Told him to go and do one and I would pay him for one full day. He wasn't budging so I wasn't paying lol. So 9 months later he finally gave me the revised bill and I paid :p

Decided he would try segregate me and belittle me in front of everyone else at work by propping a big locker against the lunch room door with a sign on telling me to **** off.

Don't think he was expecting me to shoulder punt the door open, sending said locker straight across the room nearly taking one lads head off then calmly eat my lunch.

On the plus side he's applying for every other job going so he should soon be gone.

EE /orange! Bunch of nasty scammers... They use to be good, but long story short, twice now in 6 months I've had charges from "subscriptions" eg texts and clicked adverts, although I've not ever once subscribed to the services, the latest was a games service, and was £1.25 a week, before on texts received was £3 a text, I got some money back off the text company, now just called up to get my money back off this latest one, but probably just cost me the £12.00 refund in the phone call it's self..

And EE attitude to it all stinks, so much so I'm tempted to buy out my contract, sell my phone and down grade back to where I was..

Had a mortgage expert over the other day. Promised me a massive saving on the interest rate (down to 3.19% from 5.57%) which got me excited. This week he called, saying the bank doesn't accept his proposition (if that's the right word) for a variety of reasons and the deal is off. Yet he charged me €295 for the work involved.

I could live with that, so I paid up... :tard:

...but being the suspicious prick that I am, I called the bank and inquired about the real reason for them not accepting his proposition. Turns out he was telling porkies and had not done his homework. In fact, his calculations were riddled with grave mistakes to the point it was just funny.

Anyway I am going to get my money back (shouldn't have paid in the first place, you know what they say about hindsight and that) so watch this space. Incompetent imbeciles. And this was not the first one - over the years we've had 4 so-called mortgage experts going through our paperwork, all promising miracles and they all failed miserably at our expense. They're *******s, the lot of them.

We use a guy that has helped us over the last ten years for no charge. He has always got us the best deal and has managed to wipe 5 years off what started out as a 25 year mortgage so we only have 9-10 years left :).

niek, to counter the above comments, we also have complete ar$eholes in the uk, too... one offered to get us an amazing deal but the lender kept asking for more & more information, we are talking 5 years worth of bank statements, employment histories going back decades, in the end we were sending 3 or 4 parcels of papers every week to them, and they asked for yet more info, so my wife rang them up & told them to 'fcuk right off' as they obviously didn't actually want to lend us the money, within seconds their manager was on the phone attempting to tell us that they really wanted our business, so he got a massive bollocking too.

and as for 'independant' financial advisers....... they rarely are independant, just agents for lenders, and their commision can be quite big too..

Are there not free independant mortgage advice services over there Niek?
We use a guy that has helped us over the last ten years for no charge. He has always got us the best deal and has managed to wipe 5 years off what started out as a 25 year mortgage so we only have 9-10 years left :).
He takes a commission from the mortgage company but he is totally independant and always gets you the best deal.

Yes it is - mortgage advice is free, but as soon as you sign any form of contract you start paying fees, which makes sense.
The best mortgage advisor/specialist I've had was when I bought my first house (back in 1993) but unfortunately this guy is retired. All the ones I've come across after that seemed to be in it for quick profits and not much else. Being not really clued up on mortgages doesn't help either.

Like I said, time has proven that lots of those so called experts are just in it for the money and are keen to sell you products you don't need. Insurances linked to mortgages, saving schemes linked to mortgages, investment schemes linked to mortages, you name it... shameless pricks. Anyway, rant over. Going to write a nice letter of complaint to this last guys office, demanding my money back for rubbish advice and lies. So there. :d

It really made me think, as my mrs has a go at me every so often for swearing tomuch. But i'm now glad she does, as these two guys sounded so horrible. There was no need for it at all, there where kids and families around and really made me feel bad to be English.

Ellen (the significant other half) was walking Amber, our much beloved Great Dane. Amber got attacked by a German Shepherd who allegedly "never done this before" according to the (as of yet unknown) owner. Yeah whatever.
When Ellen returned home, she discovered Amber was wounded by said innocent Shepherd. ****. So off to the vet for surgery. Stitches, anaestesia, a drain, painkillers, antibiotics... That's €491 down the toilet due to some caahhhnnt not having her lunatic dog on a leash. Crap.

mowgli
20-10-14, 08:35 PM
i've never met a dangerous breed of dog yet...

all the dobermans, gsd's, staffies, mastiffs etc i've ever met have been nice friendly creatures..

on 2 occasions, i've been bitten by dogs that definitely had mental issues.. one was an RSPCA rescue dog that i had to threaten them with going to the press & taking legal action over, because it was wild & dangerous, and my mrs has scars to prove it, the other was a collie that my cousin owned & it bit everyone except him.

i've met some complete tools along the way that really had no right owning any kind of animal

a dangerous dog with a dangerous owner is much worse combination.

Andy
21-10-14, 06:56 AM
Unlike people dogs dont speak,as much as their thunderhead owners would like you to think they do.
They also show no emotion, which means there comes a point where a dog could become manic depressive or schizophrenic and nobody would really know.
People do dangerous things in those mental states. So will dogs.
Alot of people have them for companionship and fun.Theres alot that have them as a status symbol or a statement of thinking theyre hard.
I wouldnt have one given whatever the breed.
And yes iv experienced the "real good with bairns daft as a brush wouldnt hurt a fly" type which resulted in a hospital trip.

I often let dogs walk slightly ahead of me on the lead....that dosnt mean they arnt under control

This pissed me off..

Why is it that if someone is selling something and your the first person to show interest in an item it can be sold to someone else?

My money is just as good as anyone's, I'd arranged to purchase a loom from a guy on mig, pms back and forth, he was taking his time with replying, but I asked in my first message my questions and for details on how to pay him..

But suddenly it's sold to someone else, utter bulls'hit..

mk1nova_rich

I can see both sides of your argument Scott...

In the past I have sold items to the first person who tipped up with the cash. Plenty of others were interested but none showed with the money - its easy to make promises to a stranger on the internet

But in your case it doesnt make sense as you have offered payment and been ignored. The only reason I can think is someone else maybe paid more?!

Ahh you have to try see the funny side and laugh things off, but seriously I hope no one else has cuntish neighbours like mine..

My mk4 Astra has been on sorn for ages, three weeks ago I decided to go get it mot'd to try sell it (price would be £4/500)
Well due to rainy weather we had I didn't get round to cleaning it out from inside the car.
Anyway it's been parked off the road on my land for a long time on sorn, after recently re parking it one of the rear wheels is over hanging our curb by 3".
So today I found a nice note with a clamp from dvla saying "this vehicle is not taxed"
I thought OK.. It's off road sorn...
So called the number up to explain, and they said they had a complaint it was on the road, I tried to explain and they said well we have photos and technically that wheels on the road (I live in a very very small close)
I knew straight away who had complained about it as he's a total **** like this, so they told me I need to pay a £300 release fine (£160 refundable after cars taxed) I said it's on sorn because I don't use it nor want to pay £285 to tax it to sell it, so said they can come and scrap it! I've took loads off it, they can scrap it and I'll sell the parts, bonus free removal lol

I've took loads off it, they can scrap it and I'll sell the parts, bonus free removal lol

sounds like trespassing, damage of possessions, and emotional stress to me.... dirty buggers.... i shoulda been a lawyer lol

i bet some people in the past have probably circular sawed the clamp off, and weighed them in for scrap cash, haha

Well it's gone now and no way am I stumping up £300 to get it back then tax it to sell it with a price of £4/500, don't get me wrong, I'm pissed off, it was a lovely car once, and had an awesome Z18xe1 engine.
Ah well, some time next year think we will be putting the house for sale, as cba with these neighbours, plus need more parking etc.

We will need more parking for our planned camper, plus we need a minimum of a two bed place once we're married next year as we plan on having kids.

P.s you would need to tax it to sell it anymore

He might get some of his dog **** (that I found on my front lawn) under his car handles for nice morning surprises!
As for the car, the way the release of it works was, you stump up £300, £160 is refunded once you tax it, as they won't release it unless you do, so anyone with a car on sorn make sure you have it stashed in a lockup as anything on your drive is fair game apparently!
As I don't want it off sorn to then sell and try get a tax refund I just said scrap it, I'm not wasting more money on it.

So....

Reason this all happened was because a lovely neighbour complained to the council saying that they though my car was "abandoned" , the council sent a nice letter for me to inform me to move it and contact them as they didn't want dvla involved,
(they sent the letter the day the dvla took the car away) but who ever it was also told dvla they thought it was abandoned too..

The woman from the council was shocked when I said it's already gone..
And she's informed me the land to the side of the property dive and "my" drive are council owned (unbeknown to me) So this was why dvla just came and did as they wished...
So I now have a lovely job of trying to explain the situation and not get rapped by dvla.!
Nice! Happy ****ing Christmas..

Bought some throttle bodies ages ago for 500 quid (6 weeks?), they were missing some parts (about £160 worth), had to start a Paypal dispute as he stopped responding to me, a month later after a prodding they've decided in my favour however I need to return them for a full refund rather than get the partial refund like I wanted to replace the missing bits.

So I'll be posting them back to a scammer at an unknown address and *hoping* they give me a full refund, postage is at my cost for some unknown reason, and I'll be back at square one.

Iain

Iain, what's up with the bodies? If you have a partial refund why not send them to Jenvey for a health check and rebuild? They probably need it anyway.

If you do send them back don't skimp on postage, Proof of sending wont be enough in a case like this, they will want proof of delivery so use RM special delivery.

What bits are missing? jenvey have awesome customer service! I was missing 2 of the mini ball joints from the linkage and both fuel rail mounts and they sent me them for free, didn't even want postage money. Ive also heard of other sernarios where people have got free parts from them. Give them a try, you never know!

Sent the mortgage advisor an email about 6 weeks ago. Got a phonecall in which he promised to refund the €295 I paid him. As of yet: NOTHING. Needless to say I've sent him a little reminder. Tosser.
