Ive just heard a rumor that the company i work for might be getting sold, but on the plus side if i do get paid off Ive been offered 2 jobs already one of which is offshore.
Being strung along for months in a job application.
Applied for a job in late june early july that had a start date in mid august, had an email pretty sharp to say I had successfully made the 2nd round and to await further emails.
Received a 2nd email in early august saying "I was through to the next stage, which will commence September" even though the advertised start date was 19august.
No further email so rang the company today to chase it up and the position was filled 2 and a half months ago.

Was very tempted, but she'd probably have bashed it when trying to move her car  The thing that annoys me most is that she just plonked her car there - if she'd knocked on the door and asked if I minded that she put it there for whatever reason I'd have probably been Ok with it (maybe pointed out there's perfectly adequate parking barely 10 metres away). But no, she just put it there. What if I needed to get to hospital this morning for xray and bloods?
I did go out and enable the alarm siren, was going to set it off when she came out to move her car but missed the opportunity lol

i've only ever been to one wedding where i didn't know a single person (apart from the girl i agreed to take as she was recovering from surgery & couldn't drive herself) it was the worst wedding i ever went to . the groom was pretty much ignored by her family.. her mum was a manicly obsessive gardener & they spent 4hrs taking pics of the garden with the bride stood in front of various features.. it was stinking hot & they wouldn't let us into the tent for refreshments, and the brides mum kept swanning past telling us to enjoy the garden.... the reception lasted 45mins before the taxi came to take the happy couple to the airport, then we were told to enjoy our trip home & that was it....
Getting back to my van after my ride this morning, to find because its been parked up for over a week under trees (covered in sap) that an obviously local wasps next had taken a shine to it and my van was peppered in them, i mean properly peppered, there mustve been going on to 50 - 60+ all over it!
And to add to this, i am absolutely petrified of wasps, have been since being little, i had to spank my van down the lanes/backroads to get rid of them before i could load mine and my mates bikes in, dived through the passenger side door and hurriedly slammed the door behind me, can anyone guess how fast you have to drive before your average wasp loses grip........
i assume it was barely legal lol....anyway, man up & get over it spud... i've been hospitalised cos of them, but i don't get all 'jeremy spake off the airport tv show' when i see one, i give them room & avoid contact, which in my current job is a bit interesting at times

I would get the Nova's moved elswhere asap or if you cant, get them blocked in and well immobilised.
Mate, last night as soon as I found out i moved both of them about half a mile away to a place of safety.
Rang the council this morning to be told they had applied for an eviction notice, by midday today the had gone, the police arrived in force to find rubbish and pony poo only. They shouldn't be difficult to spot, 20-30 caravans in convoy.
my wife took out daughter to the park and the little pikeys were in playground, a four year old asked her if she liked travellers, she's like "it's nice to move about" lol another one asked her if she had a nice big wedding, roflmao!
is there a story behind this?? or just the usual uncomfortable, boredom inducing, badly catered waste of a day?
So my mrs is 25, the bride of said wedding was a school/college friend. Seen her once since 1st year of college. So the wedding was all people we didn't know bar 2 other people.
So we drive to Taunton.. Mistakenly taking the A303, which was fine till Stonehenge. Where it goes to one lane and a 30, and everyone slow down to look at some frigging rocks....
Get there, very posh hotel, the room is tiny for the amount of people in it, the "DJ" was shi*e and playing old cheesey songs (give the groom pops he asked the "DJ" to play better/a bit newer songs and he did)
The music was just abit to loud so you couldn't talk without shouting. The food was wanna be posh, which made it small and crap.
Drinks? Oh christ... I don't drink, so i had a small orange juice mrs had a small red wine....... £10.40! I nearly shat!
My face aches after all the false smiling when attending such functions...

Dear Andrew
Following your recent application to the xxxxxxxx and associated telephone interview, I regret to inform you that you that, due to the current economic climate, the dealer has reluctantly decided to withdraw this vacancy.
We apologise for any inconvenience
We wish you every success in your future career.

It is also one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
I was disappointed by it's size though. </thatshwhatshesaid>

Reason? Some one likes rocks and wanted to know the date.... Still why it is one frigging lane and a 30? If you wanna see them... Park up and have a wander... Don't slow dont and stare from your car.. Or take a photo like the PRICK in the car in front did.

I agree people shouldn't take pics whilst driving. Surely everyone does.
I appreciate ancient monuments, as do many others. I would love to see all 7 Wonders.
Also, loads of roads have daft speed limits. I haven't drove past Stonehenge in a long time - good to hear it's still there - maybe the speed limit is due to many intersted parties pulling onto the main road, having visited the monument.

the only thing they know for certain, 100% absolutely to be true is that the druids had exactly 100% of feck all to do with it, its construction & anything since... so the bloke in the dodgy cloak (that looks like a curtain) that stands the other side of the fence with a collecting tin, is actually a malingering scrounger.........lol

Fcukin council put in an application to build five houses where my garage is. Several neighbours objected and it got thrown out.
Thought I was safe then the w@nkers but in another application for four houses! I hope this gets thrown out as well and they give up on the idea. Wrote a strongly worded objection so hopefully that may help.
The garages are secure in an area with no through traffic and in a quiet area. It is perfect and it has a newish door and had a replacement roof a couple of years ago. It will be difficult to replace and no doubt I will have to go back on a waiting list Grrrr.

bazil... those things have feck all ground clearance, did it need much of a pull to get it out?
It was a bugger mowgli, tried to pull it out with another brush with no joy, just no traction on the clay like surface, it took a tractor 30 mins to eventually get me out and just after that it pished down with rain, if the rain had come sooner I would have to had waited until the morning to get a 360 track machine to drag me out!

Had a sh!t week. First ps3 breaks. Then laptop then a deaf ear all week and to top it all off I pulled the car cover off the kadett only to find patches of faded paint on roof, bonnet, boot lid.
Paint is about 10 months old and just covered it for about 3 weeks as weather was bad. Also fuel pump broke in Nova.

my family have gone off the the harvest festival this morning...
now, we are pretty skint, cos due to 2 knee replacements, my mrs has not been working for most of the last 18 months.. yet we are meant to take food stuffs to give to the church.. they then give it to the food bank they run, who then give it to the poor of the town!!!!!! I live in Hinckley, its a town with a lot of employment, and in the local area, there are always temporary warehouse type jobs, so unemployment is really low, so that only the professional unemployed actually are out of work.... so our food goes to people who are so poor that they can only afford a 60" tv & are limited to 1 pack of fags a day..
now I know there are some old people who are finding it hard, but the types of food we get asked to give are hardly the sort of things these people will eat.. they are mostly pasta, sweetcorn, rice etc.
so just are there really any people in this sceptred isle that really are both meant to be here & poor enough to actually need the services of a food bank?????

Sky broadband/phone, misarranged dates, engineers not turning up, engineers refusing to enter the house with a responsible adult other than the homeowner after confirmed it would be fine and general incompetence mean it's now almost 4 MONTHS since I moved in/called them that I've been trying to set up a service! It's cost me near enough £100 already in premium phone lines, time off work and lost fees from trying various companies only to come back to Sky because of limited options!

Only phone/broadband and I'd go with Virgin if I could, talk talk can't put an order through as it's a new build and they have no way of inputting an address manually...
Every phone company I've come across is as incompetent as the next, to be fair it's split 50/50 between sky fcuk ups and BT just not turning up/being tossers.
bt are useless.

Please please dont go anywhere near Talk talk. Once of the worst ones ever!
They'll mess you about from the start, you get the crappiest BB speed and strenght, then you try and call them they will pass you around like a 5$ whore.
Then try and charge you to leave them... Or just lie and say they need your details to refund you then charge you more....
Please stay away.
I thought virgin put the infrastructure in on new builds...
On developments yes, this is a single new build in an old village.
I found out Talk Talk are useless after they cancelled the install because they put it through on the wrong address and it took me 2 hours to find this out and get everything refunded.
is the village connected to cable at all?
There's no virgin or high speed service in the area no. Do need to try phoning virgin and see what the chance of getting it is, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to get the entire (elderly) village onto HD TV and 120mb/s internet to make it worth their effort.

Halloween, just want to shoot all the scrounging little basterds that know on my door
We had them asking for cash last year
Halloween is a load of American crap
You're both miserable chunt. Did you not do anything fun while you were kids?
1. asking for cash is illegal, so don't give it
2. halloween is actually a british thing & it went to america & then came back.. i was trick or treating in the 70's & it was hugely popular...until kids started getting hold of fireworks & then started throwing them at other people
When I was a kid Halloween was still in America
Bonfire/fireworks night yes, going round begging for sweets/cash no lol
Edd your younger than me iirc... So it couldn't have been. As i did it when i was a kid (an older, would tonight but have no make up)

Actually you're wrong.
Trick or treat comes from Ireland, many hundreds of years ago, irish would knock on doors on Halloween begging and if they were given something, they would bless the person with good fortune,if not they would "trick" them.Hence trick or treat.
Iv read this many times,Americans just fukked it like everything it involved "ca'andy"

Taking my car in for what I hoped would be a £15 puncture repair, turned out to need new front discs and pads, brake fluid, anti roll bar links, a number plate light and an MOT (which expired a week ago). To top it all, the slow puncture was actually a cracked alloy  An expensive day

PicklesSE8

Not really, I work there so saw everything that needed doing
No offence but you really need to take better care of your motor then mate, i know exactly what does or doesnt need doing on both my car and my van, never let the mot or tax expire and anything that goes wrong gets sorted immediately, nova needs nowt doing, and the van needs a pair of arb droplinks fitting which ive got, but not got round to doing!
That way nothing barring a sudden failure, can creep up on you and leave you with an expensive trip to the garage!
As said, i dont mean that to sound like im having a go, just making an observation!
PicklesSE8
01-11-13, 11:15 PM
Yea I know what you're saying, didn't realise how low the pads were and never thought the wheel would be cracked (its on the inner edge), first sign of any problems and I'll get it looked at, was just a bit of a shock but certainly didn't know the MOT had run out :tard: At the end of the day its my wifes car so I'd never intentionally let her drive something that isn't safe (hence todays £500 bill)
Fair play mate, like i say that sounds harsh but i dont mean it that way at all, i used to be like that, ignore lights and wait till tyres burst before replacing them and such, but its sooooo much cheaper in the long run to jump on problems and fix them as they arise :d
PicklesSE8
01-11-13, 11:29 PM
Yea thats cool mate, obviously tyres and things that you can see I get done straight away, also I've got a new alloy arriving tomorrow as I didn't fancy getting this one fixed (it's a 19" Vectra C snowflake which I think are quite prone to cracking anyway)

It needed a rear subframe so he bought a new one...then bolted the rusty radius arms and brake drums to it, with rusty old bolts - why not spent an hour with a wire wheel and some black Hammerite, then new shoes and cylinders?
He has paid £60 for Stevie Wonder to pigeon **** some repairs onto the heelboards then not finished the bodywork before bolting the subframe in

i agree with you there.... the rules are easy... keep to the left, go to the right to pass, then pull back in again...
as for slip roads, you should use them to match the speed of the motorway traffic... i've never really seen people bumble onto the carriageway at 40, most of them round here arrive at nearer 90 lol

3inches of snow...................
We didn't get as much as that here but bring it on I say I want to get skiing this weekend lol
Really? Wow you need to come out delivering with me... I'm held up everytime when trying to get on the motorway..
benn, I've driven wagons on & off since 1995. I've even had people try to come in between my wagon & drag trailer at well over my 56mph!!! one particular favourite was when I was driving down the a34 near newbury in my car at a quite reasonable speed to be undertaken by a Vectra estate coming up the sliproad. i'd hazard a guess at 100mph, based on my speed... & the small dingy he was towing was about 2' higher in the air than it should have been lol lol lol...
To55ers that can't use motorways! Either sit in the middle lane. Or lanes 3 and 4 and not use them all correctly. And the daft tw@ts that don't use the slip roads ad join a motorway at 40mph! Fu£kTards!
This^ see it every morning and every afternoon. White van men sitting in the outside at 50 with nothing infront of them boils my pÃ*ss too.
Funny isnt it, a road you'll drive on the most isn't part of the test.... Crazy really.
I undertake on the slip road all the time.
as long as you are at the same speed as the traffic on the main carriageway, and you leave a reasonable gap, undertaking on the sliproad is perfectly legal....
blasting down it as fast as you can then crapping yourself & trying to play chicken when you find a line of trucks there should be a hanging offence
Some theiving ****, has helped themselves to the heko wind deflectors off my combo, ffs, think i saw them on the van in question this morning, passed it and id not realised they were missing as i hadnt woken up properly
