Awesome work, paint finish is really nice and flat. Like the detail of paint the arch on the other side like the wrap would...

I will be de- nibbing and polishing Scott but not flat and polishing........ I prefer a good, clean off the gun finish that looks standard. I dont like the glass like ultra flat finish some show cars have as I think it looks false to be honest. de- nibbing will just remove any small dirt inclusions but the finish across 99% of the wing will remain as it was from the gun. Just my preferance really.

Thanks all for the kind comments! Hopefully more soon... :)

I agree. Flating etc is like an ok lookish burd slapping loads of makeup on. I'd prefer a looker in the morning ;)

Tbf your out of the gun finish is alot better than most, you've got a really flat clean finish. Wish i could get a finish straight from the gun like that...

Its just my preference Scott..... I know some like the ''show'' flat finish but I prefer an original look etc. Even the majority of the prestige marques have a semi pealy finished look these days. Im sure the jamaica nova looks great!

Adam.... Too right let ftw! I wouldnt own this car if it was any other way!

Wudgey... Id advise using u-pol medium grey. Its not what I have used as I went for a match to the original plastic bumpers not the vinyls in the end. As it comes in aerosol form it'll be easy for you to work with and is pretty close to the vinyl colour. The finish on all my grey parts are semi matt leaving them very smooth etc.

Hi all, time for an update then! After the wings were painted previously I gave them a quick de nib and polish.........

A few imperfections flatted......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip351-1.jpg?t=1268855722

then polished..........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip352-1.jpg?t=1268855751

And the finished article after a good wax........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip353-1.jpg?t=1268855792

With the wings finished I got the home and one by one back onto the car.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip355-1.jpg?t=1268855860
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip359-1.jpg?t=1268855880

Not a bad match to the original a post and scuttle paint either!......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip360-1.jpg?t=1268855927

Then the bumper went back on too which was the first time since it was painted Ive seen it actually on the car..........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip363-1.jpg?t=1268856022
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip364-1.jpg?t=1268856040

With the front end back on I turned my attention to removing the seats and the cage as they'd have to come out before the car goes to work for paint etc. First time its seen daylight in months!.........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip244-1.jpg?t=1268856067

Once that was sorted I thought Id have the bonnet off and took it to work for paint. It was very clean but has some very slight bubbling around some drain holes. So I thought just to be safe I cleaned all them up......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip248-1.jpg?t=1268856166
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip247-1.jpg?t=1268856325
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip249-1.jpg?t=1268856346

Once the inside was finished the bonnet was flipped over and sanded then all chips filled..........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip246-1.jpg?t=1268856403

A few days later I lined it up for paint.........

Close up shot........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip254-1.jpg?t=1268857384

After a flat and polish the bonnet went home and my new doors which I decided to use went in to work. After unwrapping them I was a bit dissapointed to find this........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip262-1.jpg?t=1268857474

Repairable but I was rather gutted. Anyhow I cracked on and got both doors prepared then the damged edge on the drivers door was gently tapped back round, filled and primed to be as good as new...............

Looks stunning dude!

The bumper grey is growing on me.

Thanks pal, Ive heard a few people have been slating my colour choice however its looks totally different in a shot or too coming up! Trust me guys when you see it in the flesh Im sure you'll agree with me.

Back to date then....... Last friday I got the car to work ready for paint. Here it is awaiting its fait!.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip270-2.jpg?t=1268857891
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip271-2.jpg?t=1268858161

It wasnt long before bits started to come off...........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip272-1.jpg?t=1268858209
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip274-2.jpg?t=1268858232
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip278-2.jpg?t=1268858265
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip279-2.jpg?t=1268858288

The rear arches had a couple of tiny bubbles but as I know shaun had these repaired previously I bought some rear arches as I thought we may need them. Both rear wheel arches were sanded back to see what lied beneath........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip282-2.jpg?t=1268858452
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip283-2.jpg?t=1268858472

And apart from a few small areas they did look very clean but as I didnt want to be repairing them again in the future the decision was made to fit arches anyway. And to be quite honest it was a decision well made as once the arches were cut out there was some corrosion on the inners too. This was all removed and plated up but what we've done is an idea used by pms on andy and karl rowntrees cars....... The inners have had the lips and a section above removed so the lower quarter area is now only single skin. The new outer lip is then folded over the inner and metal bolded to completely enclose it. However the smallest section possible has been fitted both sides. Heres the new arches going in........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip281-2.jpg?t=1268858993

Welded in.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip286-2.jpg?t=1268859042

And ground back.............

Both arches have also been rolled over with a nice taper at either end same as the front wings etc..........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip289-1.jpg?t=1268859322
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip290-1.jpg?t=1268859403

Then a fair few skims of filler later ............

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip292-1.jpg?t=1268859486
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip298-1.jpg?t=1268859572

The folded lips were then primed and sealed.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip299-1.jpg?t=1268859647

And the new inners were also sealed in from the inside too........

Whilst my panel guy was sorting the arches I was on with preparing the rear of the car..........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip309-1.jpg?t=1268860028

All bracketery has been removed cleanly and the rear smoothed so Ive kept all brackets just in case they are needed in the future etc.

A little more before I turn in them this eves.......

There was a small piece behind the rear boot seal that needed a little attention so a small plate was cut and welded in followed by a small skim of filler......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip305-1.jpg

The car then went back on its rear wheels so it could be rolled into the booth for primer........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip306-1.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip307-1.jpg

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip319-1.jpg

And primed along with a couple of other small repairs that wanted a little primer............

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip327-1.jpg

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip331-1.jpg

The primer will be left for a few days to allow for any movement as they were fair size repairs etc. It didnt stop me cracking on though! Rear wheel arches were gravitex'd over the seam sealer behind the arch for max protection etc........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip333-1.jpg

Once all small imperfections were stoppered I thought Id carry on with some more gravitexing adding it to a few more areas than usual for extra protection.........

All masked up and fine line taped for a minimal sharp edge........

I went right along the sills across the rear panel and around the rear arches too. Ive actually taken the stone guard to the nearest edge on the sill so the whole sills are protected not just two thirds like normal.

Here shows some finished results......

Awesome mate! You don't fcuk about do you! I love the high level of detail in all you do. as we all know it's what makes cars like this (and your mk2) what they are. I'm a big fan of colour coding when done tright, and I would have done the same with the wheels and bumpers. A great choice that looks superb. :thumb:

Im afraid you and Mark will have to live with it!! Although my attention to detail is always keen I have bigger fish to fry at the moment! Painted screws that are not seen 90% of the time are not high on my priority list at the moment ;)

And yes all arches will be body colour again soon, Although I have different ideas for the floorpan ;)

Impressive stuff so far Nick - I wish my progress was as fast as yours :)

Have you trial fitted your new doors yet - Even though they are brand new - Vauxhall tollerances back in the day were not quite upto todays standards

When I fitted my new doors to my project - it took a bit of 'tweeking' around the window frame and hinges to get a perfect fit

Thanks Dave, I know what your saying regarding fitment.... Todays tolerances across the board are still not the best! Im unsure if my panel guy has had them on yet but he was a time served vauxhall guy once upon a time and knows his novas very well ( we even have a proper vauxhall hinge tweaking tool!) so Im sure the end result will be the right one.

Thanks guys! :)

Update time it is then......... Friday eves after work saw the front end parts and windscreen removed in preparation for the weekend paint session. Once certain areas had been cleaned up/ degreased the car went into the booth and some stands went under the rear end and the wheels came off. This was so I could get right in under the inside of the wheel arches to paint them etc. Also I thought it would be a good time to paint the inside of the rear too. My camera battery died unfortunatly but after another late night here's how it looked the following day after Id bolted a few bits back on............

Rear arches.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip367-1.jpg?t=1269191951
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip368-1.jpg?t=1269192035

And the rear of the car (much easier this time with no seats or cage to get in the way like I did in the red one!)......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip388-1.jpg?t=1269192129
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip389-1.jpg?t=1269192148

With them bits out of the way I cracked on saturday cleaning and preparing the car for its exterior paint. Before long into the booth it went.........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip369-1.jpg?t=1269192332
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip370-1.jpg?t=1269192352

The final bits of masking was then done (everything has been backmasked so there will be no masking edges/lines anywhere at all).....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip371-1.jpg?t=1269192456
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip374-1.jpg?t=1269192480

Then after a good cleaning/tacking and stat gun session I primed any small rub throughs and used a yellow surfacer wet on wet primer for the large areas that wanted to be yellow. This was followed by uber amounts of mustard yellow and two coats of clear. Here's the results.........

It came out very well and very clean which is always a bonus! I left it to air dry rather than baking as it lets the clear flow more and the finish wont nip up. Today I went back in to work and demasked it then rolled it out of the booth and bagged up the inside and engine bay ready to flat and polish it. This can be messy hence the precautions!...........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip383-1.jpg?t=1269194118

Your thinking of old school solid colour fella..... Thats rarely used by most manufacturers nowadays. Base and clear has a better longivity and is more durable. In short this will be shining for years to come with or without polish ;)

The wings are all over the place at the mo and only held on by two bolts up top Si once the bottom one is in it will put the wing back down etc. Thats whats giving that appearance of it being slightly off I think. Trust me its bang on! ;)

Me = Jealous!

No need for you to be jealous fella with what you have in the garage! ;)

Onto a little update then. Monday eves saw the doors and tailgate have their final prep and into the booth they went for paint. The following morning this was how they were looking........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip398.jpg?t=1269461513
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip397-1.jpg?t=1269461532
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip396-1.jpg?t=1269461551
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip395-1.jpg?t=1269461571

The passenger door and tailagate were excellent but the drivers door had a tiny hair on the top swage line. I tried to flat and polish it but it must have been under the lacqeur so I couldnt get it out. So the next night it was rubbed down again and back into the booth it went......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip400.jpg?t=1269461711
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip401.jpg?t=1269461730

Perfect this time round, Phew!......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip399.jpg?t=1269461776

The passenger door meanwhile was going on along with the tailgate too....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip403.jpg?t=1269461831
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip404.jpg?t=1269461847

Also some windows surrounds were prepared for paint. One of the rears had a slight dent in which was fixed and primed......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip402.jpg?t=1269461973

And lastly for this eves the front end came back off so I could gravitex the front panel. Using the fine line tape I masked a nice neat line across the lower half of the front panel and just underneath the cooler. Once overpainted it'll look good whilst adding to the protection of the panel etc.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip405.jpg?t=1269462193

Thats it for now hopefully some more progress soon! :)

Yeh I thought it may be too much with just two colours as the sr's have quite a few different grey on them as standard with the spoiler, handles, mirrors, vinyls, bumpers and surrounds all being slightly different etc. I can see the reyland calipers getting the same grey treatment too as I dont want them to stand out as they do now.

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip427.jpg?t=1269891545

Previously both doors have been a pain to shut as the cage bolts catch on the door card pockets which had resulted in the pockets cracking. A short while ago I collected a full set of mint interior cards from Sloth and thought Id try to reslove this problem from happening again. This is what I came up with after a little die grinder session......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip428.jpg?t=1269891595
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip421.jpg?t=1269891786

Neatly done and it should fix that problem! Another thought I had pre paint was a memory of brett warburtions old car now owned by Matt.... The interior B and c pillars were left open after painting which looked great. So when I painted the rear I went up there too. Ive trimmed the necesary parts off the headlighning and was left with this.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip423.jpg?t=1269892078

Not the best pics but it does look good in my opinion! Slowly but surely the car was also going back together. Painted handles and lock surrounds went in.........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip429.jpg?t=1269892444

Then I was left with the headache of what to do with the bay.... I didnt want to go through the full procedure of painting the bay with the motor and box in and as the bay saw paint only a short time ago when shaun converted the car it was in great condition just a little dull for my liking. The slam panel had a few chips.marks here and there so what I decided on was to paint the slam panel but clear only over the original yellow already in the bay around the strut top areas, inner wings etc to re gloss them. The engine bay and slam panel areas were fully stripped apart from the motor/box and I cracked on. Once built back up I was very pleased with the results.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip414.jpg?t=1269892935

The engine bay now matches everything else being uber shiny! Following that a few more parts when back on after work today.... The gm 3 piece pillar vinyl set was applied and rear windows went in.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip406.jpg?t=1269893124

The rear bumper, smoothed and painted boot grab and rear lights also went back in with my new euro fog as Im not a fan of the reverse light.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip413.jpg?t=1269893192
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip408.jpg?t=1269893269

Both doors were then built up and its now almost looking like a car again!........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip410.jpg?t=1269893361

Thats were we are up to now. My panel guy doesnt fancy applying the boot vinyl as they are a little tricky and I only have one! So we have a pro coming within the next day or so to do just that. Once he's been the rear screen can go in the boot can be built up/spoiler on etc. cheers for reading.

Sorry Ad I forgot my camera last weekend so I had no pics of wip just finished work really. Would have been ideal too as the intercooler was off too whilst I painted the front panel. Glad Simps could be of help though, Im pretty sure shaun told me it was a pace intercooler? Does seem good quality regardless of make tbh.

Nice one Nick, I got all week off - really should get some work in on mine.

Too right Si.... get some graft in! ;)

Update time then...... Things have been a little slow this week as there was certain things we couldnt do until other jobs had been done etc. First off my panel guy spent quite a while finishing the final adjustments on the doors and lining up the wings so we had near perfect gaps........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip433.jpg?t=1270212677

Id also noticed a few minor shallows in both doors once they were painted so we left the waste mouldings off the doors until my dent guy had been and worked his magic. You do not want to know what time I left work on thursday eves!! But the doors are now perfect so Im happy. With that done the waste mouldings and my stubby mirrors went on as well as new gutter trims too (check colour to my painted surrounds!) ........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip431.jpg?t=1270213157

And from the front which is the first time Ive had both mirrors on and Im pleased with how they look........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip434.jpg?t=1270213217

The front bumper is now lined up and is now back on to stay........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip432.jpg?t=1270213251

The other night my vinyl guy also turned up and fitted the boot vinyl for me making a perfect job of it....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip430.jpg?t=1270213446

Another thing that we noticed was the rear bumper on the n/s didnt line up as you may have seen from a picture a few pages back. However the o/s was perfect so we had a tweaking session with the bracket on the bumper and now it sits almost perfect.....

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip438.jpg?t=1270213664
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip437.jpg?t=1270213685

The boot lock has now been swapped over to its new smoothed button to make the boot operational. Next up as the door and wings had been lined up it was time to add the grey to the doors and quarters/sills etc. Last night after work I stayed a while to get the car prepared and masked up........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip439.jpg?t=1270213877

Ive taken the original vinyl route inside the shut and along the sill however I havent gone as deep into the shut as I thought it would look neater this way. I spent some time ensuring all lines were just were I wanted them with the fine line tape for an excellent sharp edge and accuracy........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip440.jpg?t=1270214032
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip442.jpg?t=1270214068

Nick J
02-04-10, 02:30 PM
I then painted on the grey and demasked the car as I didnt want the fresh paintwork to sweat and I wanted the fine line tape off whilst the paint was still wet. Here's how it looked with the majority of masking off.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip445.jpg?t=1270214517
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip446.jpg?t=1270214539
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip447.jpg?t=1270214708

At that point I left for the night but I was back in today to do the back edges of the doors as the vinyl did wrap round slightly on the underside and the opening edge. Heres how they came out.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip451.jpg?t=1270214817

And a shut shot......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip450.jpg?t=1270214859

And how its currently looking.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip449.jpg?t=1270214882

Its missing the bonnet as Ive never been happy with the finish. In my opinion it was too flat and thats not what I wanted so it was rubbed down and the inside was masked off and made paint ready......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip453.jpg?t=1270215225

Once a couple of clear coats had been added I left it looking like this.......

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k27/nj_photo/novaturbowip455.jpg?t=1270215299

I may go in tommorow and flat/polish the bonnet as that would leave all the paintwork pretty much finished apart from the underside. But it may have a wait a little while for that as I need to catch up on some time with the missus first!

I'd strongly advise against painting the underside. I'd prep it and gravitex, maybe do it a dark colour. I feel it's always in the back of your mind whilst driving the car which is why this winter i'll be doing mine with dark underseal.

Thanks mate, After we spoke about the above a while back I took onboard exactly what you said.......... My idea is to gravitex and overpaint in a solvent based matt grey. I did think mustard underside to begin with but It would be an utter nitemare to upkeep. At least grey would go with the lower half and other items so it would be inkeeping with what Ive done and not show the dirt as much whilst still looking well and protecting the underside.

Again thanks all for the above comments!

Just to be picky as I know how perfect you like things, does the swage line on the passenger side quarter not quite line up with the one on the door or is it the angle of the picture? Just wondering if the door needed lifting a little at the back?

Nova panel gaps are a nightmare though, both my front wings line up totally differently.

Great work though, good decision to stick with the blue/grey lower half.

Thats the thing... sometimes If you alter a point it tends to throw it out somewhere else. nova alignment/gaps are pretty poor in comparison with newer cars nowadays etc. We'll be on the case in an attempt to alter it best we can though.

Jumping back to the intercooler question.

Yes Nick it was made by Pace, it was made for Billy and Andys ZLET Corsa and i got it from them.
Pace do sell just intercooler cores so that you can just specify the sizes you want, this is what i done with my last project then just made the end caps at work to fit.

I keep resisting adding to the constant barage of praise for this car, but just to let you know Nick. I am still watching and am in utter awe of what you are doing here. I did have a mustard Yellow Nova in mind for my next theme, but it'll always be in the shadow of this one, so another option is being thought out. lol

I look forward to the next instalment as is everyone else. :thumb:

Mustard is the way forwards! Park it next to mine instead lol

Looks spot on Nick, everything down to the smallest detail looks perfect.

Hope you can adjust the door to make it fit 100% or as close to 100% as you can. If not do you still have the old door? Could painting and fitting that one be a option?

Cheers Rick, We'll do our best to try and tweak the door that little bit more to get the best possible fit..... I opted with the new doors as both original doors were showing a tiny amount of rust and as I had the new ones I thought I may as well use them etc. Its actually only slightly out so we may be able to improve it but if not Its not something that will worry me really as on the whole its come out really well. All novas tend to have them small flaws that their owners arent happy with and I guess mine will be no different! But as said overall Im really happy with how its looking. :)

Its probably something that will never be noticed once the rub strips are on. Its not like many people crawl round on there hands and knees at shows and thats the only real angle you would notice it.

Does look bloody immaculate Nick, its a credit to you.

Very true... we will attempt perfecting though! If it can be done without ruining the gaps elsewhere as they are all very good we will. Its actually come out much better on the whole than I expected to be honest and I just cant wait to have it finished to rack some miles up! Next week fingers crossed.

Stoo..... cheers fella!

Hi Guys,

A quick halftime update after a prompting from Mr Robinson! I cracked on over the easter hols and had the bonnet finished ready to go straight back on once we were back in on tuesday. The tailgate was filled with dinitrol and built up followed by the rear screen in and spoiler on. It was actually a different spoiler to what was on the car as I pretty much destroyed the old one when I removed it! Once fitted we noticed it didnt want to sit right on one of the top corners due to it obviously being very slightly twisted and spoiler tape not being strong enough to alter/hold it in postion. So we have tried to sort this by lifting up that corner and pumping in a little spoiler adhesive then taping it down to hold it in position like so........

Hopefully that will sort the problem or I'll be looking for a new spoiler at a later date. The quarters/doors were then filled to the hilt with dinitrol followed by my new interior cards and the rear half of the cage too......

We've since also tried again with minor adjustments to the passenger door and catch in an attempt to perfect it before the mouldings went on etc. It has improved slightly but still isnt perfect however It is a minor flaw of an overall excellent job so I will live with it. Brand new mouldings were then carefully lined up and added today too. Now the finishing touched are going on the cars starting to look excellent....

I then left it this eves looking like this.......

Just the passenger seat and front half of the cage to add really build up wise then a huge cleaning mission as the cars covered in dinitrol, copper slip, overspray and dirty paw marks not to mension filler dust but I didnt expect anything different with spending a few weeks sat in the workshop! Im just currently trying to find the roll of red pinstripe in the loft then i can add that tommorow etc. More hopefully at the weekend guys. Big thanks to Keith by the way for a few emergency parts shipped from ireland in uber quick time! Thanks for reading, comments welcome!
