afetr a quick tidy up under there as it was easier with the bonnet off. got onto putting the new one on. when we put it on 1st time we lined it all up right and closed it. but the bit where it bolts to the hinges has been bent. so anyway my dad bieng the mechainc he is after abit of bending and twisting it fitted spot on

motorworl do a decent budget set for 15 or 20 quid, dont go for the cheapest! They arnt fused so aint the safest, plus they like melting

The scissor jack is ok for the sills. But as Carl said a trolley aint a good idea on a sill as the jack moves as it lifts, bending the sill.
Good luck with the mot, a lot of things you cant really check without a ramp etc though. Just check the basic things.

althougb have booked it in to have the rear arch fixed and repainted and also for the doors to have rust cut out plated over and sprayed :thumb:

edit:- also next year after pvs08 he'll be coming off the road for new lower valance and general smartening up. hoping i might be able to respray the whole car

and its free too as my uncles teaching me how to do it on them

Hmm, i dont see how you can cut out and plate a door tbh. The skins are mega thin and liable to distort easily if approached with a welder.

If i was you, id do the smartening up etc when you can drive, it seems a waste to get quite a bit of work done/respray, and then have the car sitting about for years????

new nova at the scrappy, this time silk violet gsi! :thumb:

got myself some gsi door cappings, gsi arch carpets, gsi gear knob and plastic sleeve, and a gsi horn push lol

riggy came down and got himself some gsi skirts, gsi window frames, gsi mirrors and other bits lol

back up there tomorrow to gut it, break servo and dash coming out to sell lol :thumb:

anyway today fitted my rear arch carpets, rather than having to take seats out etc to remove the rear 1/4 card just to take the half bit of carpet out, i trimmed them down lol, but you cant see it now, plus looks miles betetr now without big white domes in the boot lol

also went back to the scrappers yesterday, took the gsi center console out and got myself some nova genuine gm mats, also i got myself a mint cav gear gaitor, im going to swap the rubbery nova one for that when i get chance, will make it look more modern :thumb:

Meh, there's an excess of rear window surrounds - they're one thing people do tend to take off as they're easy to remove, so not really worth a special trip for. Front sections, if they're in good nick, would be far more worthwhile as they don't often come up for sale.

when i sprayed mine i just got some red covers and put them on, and the reds bleeding through abit, they look pink lol, anyway my currents havent got internal adjusters and these have, so less poverty, wWOOHOO!!! lol :thumb:
