Banded Steelies Fitment Question

Will a set of SR steels (ET49) banded to 8J Fronts and 9J rear... ,,, will they stick out of saloon arches atall or will i just get away with it?

i would say that the 9's would stick out but 8's on the rear are usualy fine but would poke out on the front i think

The 9J ones are for the rear, and the 8J ones are for the front, cant find any images of any banded this wide

They have been outer banded Benn, so shouldn't effect the offset?

I'll try....

If you make the section in front of the mounting face wider, then the measurement between the centre line of the wheel and the mounting face changes causing the offset to change.

If they are banded in front of the mounting face and behind the mounting face of the wheel the distance between the mounting face of the wheel and the centre line of the wheel remains the same meaning the offset doesn't change.

If you have a 5J wheel for example and want to make them 9J double banding means there will be 2" added on the front and 2" on the rear

So, ET49 - 2" (50mm) = ET-1

Ahh now i understand! i THINK they're single banded on the faces so the offset shouldn't be effected? EG they wont touch the inner arches/shocks?
