View Full Version : Spudly's 2.0 16v Antibes
Mines an external one as per the normal nova MPi setup, think mines from a 2.0 cav/cally originally, dozy me thought for some reason that the cav one was internal so didnt bother looking/keeping the one from my cav, damn annoying as i shouldve done!
Think ill get one of the ones Jeff linked earlier on when i get paid, that should be the last spend i need to make, barring tax lol
fair do's then, so on the road end of this month then yes?
Thats the plan, ill be gutted if its not as ive already booked national weekend with the nova's reg lol
no reason why it shouldn't be, got nearly 2 months to get it there! even if you just get a cheap pump to tide you over. Mines done and i'm a really lazy f*cker lol
Two months, err try a month ya geek, national weekend is next month, but if ive not got the funds for a pump and tax, till the end of this month then that leaves me roughly two weeks for road test/teething issues lol
Spud i've got pump if needs be...
I should be sorted Mazz, the kind mr Jeff has offered me one which he said he is going to send out over the weekend, sterling gent that he is, fingers crossed its just that and ill be back on track for mot end of the month!

Keep mazz in mind if this ones a problem, I've tested the pump today
And it turns fine, just need petrol, lol.
Posting tomorrow morning
I think ill get shouted at by mr Jeff now, i kind of got the nova running today lol
My mate has a fuel pump he uses to drain the tanks on cars he gets to weigh in or break, and it turned out the be the exact bosch pump that i already had, i think it came from the calibra he broke when he xe'd the nova that 24sevenslacker now has, but that kind of got 'borrowed' and hey ho she runs again, and this pump aint anywhere near as loud as my old one, which if you listen to all the vids i posted when she first fired up, got progressively louder so was destined to fail right from the off!
But anyways, i went to go finish a few bits on it like sort the bulbs out in my clocks as some had blown, fit my horn and get the coilovers dropped down a bit more to level the car out, hoovered all the crap out of the battery tray and got the battery clamped up, and also fitted a spare sony headunit so ill have some entertainment for when the loud pedal gets boring (yeah righto haha) only took a few pics as it was pissing it down which its been doing most of the day, but other than find my oil pressure sender and get that fitted, i cant think of anything there is left to do for the mot now, just need to wait till weekend after next and i can run it in!!
Few pics as she sits now....

I don't believe you:d
When are you coming to visit:p
You can pebbledash the neighbours horsebox any timelol
nice one spud :thumb: when's the MOT booked? and what's this 'running in' you speak off? just get out there and kick it's c*nt in lol
It will probably be on the 25th as thats the wednesday slap bang in the middle of the week i have off, so ill be able to tax it then and go play :thumb:
And Royston, i dont think ill be able to pebbledash the horsey box as mines fwd so would only pebbledash the underside of my car
Looks nice Spud, glad you got then pump sorted, least it wasn't anything else
Speedlines have grown on me lol
Backbox sitting a little low ?
Just ordered some clear side reps for it aswell, the backbox does sit a little low as its from my mates GTE, so obviously was made to fit the lower rear splitter, Doh lol
Will keep an eye on this one lad. Looks sweet already.
Blue carpets I have never seen them before.
Anyone got any red ones I could buy.
Just booked her in for mot for the 25th, getting close now, whoop whoop!

Battery gauge is a bit high no?
Looking good tho, be good to see you in it at the shows.
Oil pressure looks a touch high as well lol
I think the guages all read a little higher than they should, temp guage seems to start from just below quarter for some reason so i think its just down to that, but now youve mentioned it, ill check the charge rate when im up there tomorrow night, and if youd read silly man Jack, i havent fitted my pressure sender, its lost in the boot full of crap somewhere lol
Oh and since ive just sold one of my mountain bikes, i now have the funds for mot and tax, so the mot has been rebooked for this saturday

Did anything arrive today spud?
LMFAO, yes, i forgot to text you actually, my mum says she doesnt believe ive been buying sex toys, im just trying to sneak car parts into the house lol
Its a bit of an industrial beasty aint it, will have a looksee into trying it on at the weekend, but im unsure it will fit the bracket its that big, address label did make me laugh though:thumb:
Hey that headunit aint that bad Dave, have you seen how the cd goes in, thats cool as anything :d
And ill see if i can get over your way at some point to take you for a squirt:thumb:

If the headunit wasn't so ugly it might be nice lol Get an old kenwood or Alpine in there for the retro goodness ;)
Something ive just thought of, im going to need a cig lighter to charge my phone/run my satnav, where the hell do they power up from normally or should i just fit my own fused feed from the battery?

The one I sent is about the same size as my LET.

My old mk1 had the wires behind the lighter slot, I just bought a universal cig lighter and put a fuse in the appropriate slot.
Edit: PM Colin he's bound to have a cig lighter kicking about.
Jeff youre a pain, but it was amusing lol
Ill be having words with Benjamin when i next see him, and Southie mine doesnt have the wires as i wouldve noticed them when i had all the dash/wiring out, i can source one no problem im just wondering where to take my feed from lol

Well thank god it's not just me, or my mk1 thats lacking the wires!
The only wires i found was the clock one's lol
im thinking of going from the battery direct, or from the ignition barrel etc..
I like the steering wheel!

Sorry can't really afford anything atm
/\ aw, i can hear tiny violins lol
Good luck for the test spud, all well do you think yeah?
Should be spot on, ive checked everything and the only thing that has stopped working is the damn rear fog light, which ill sort, somehow, switch seems fine, bulb is good, and ive cleaned up the contacts on the bulb holder, bloody thing lol
goodo :) fog lamp can't be much really can it? you checked the fuse? lol
Yes checked the fuse aswell, bit annoying but ill see if i can swipe my mates multimeter tomorrow and ill figure it out im sure:d
aye you're best off with a meter, it's just guess work without. at worst you'll have to run a bit of new wire
Cba with doing that, just want to get out and get some miles on her lol
Hows yours doing then, you got many miles in yet?
Another little update, i only now have one thing left to do before the MOT on saturday
Went up to Rich's tonight as ive still not fitted my oil pressure sender (which i didnt end up doing as was more awkward to do than id realised but meh) but i did however modify the wiring and wire up my oil switch so i now have a working oil light on the dash, the foglight has mysteriously started to work again so im not complaining at all on that one, changed all three wiper blades as the ones she had were shot to pieces, fitted my clear side repeaters, and collected the money from one of my mountain bikes that ive sold to fund the tax/mot :d
Few pics, and i was actually looking round her for things still to do, and couldnt actually find anything!!

Hows yours doing then, you got many miles in yet?
yeah still not made the trip work, but I've probably done about 200 miles so far, but due to an enthusiastic driving style, that's consumed £90 worth of petrol so far lol hopefully as the novelty wears off my right foot with become slightly lighter lol
WIN :d :thumb: how far you been in it?
Not far and wont be going much further for now as the clutch cable has just snapped lol

true, these things are to be expected in the first few miles/days
true, these things are to be expected in the first few miles/days
Aye thats why i didnt want my first outing in her to be on the way to national weekend lol
spud, my first proper outing (car that is) was to the nats 2. we did over 200miles, with a slight detour to darley dale......
you need to be brave, cos if a bodger like me can get a car to run for 200+ miles trouble free, you'll do it easy.
Ive failed already then havent i lol
Oh dear its raining here, damn thing is almost undriveable due to wheelspin lol
I think there's a pedal you can use that can control the amount of wheelspin.
Yes the clutch, put it in a higher gear, unfortunately that pedal is now broken lol
spud, a clutch cable is nowt, and tbh, its expected on an xe conversion, its probably circled the moon twice already... my car had the benefit of onnly 6800 miles on it when i started pissing about with it...
i have also driven vehicles more than 200 miles with an inoperative clutch before, so i'd have just kept going.....it teaches you a lot about mechanical sympathy, starting in 1st, and then rev matching thru the box....
Thought id put these pics up aswell, took them after her first 'pre-mot' wash.....

Got a cable here if you need it. Just cover postage.
There is some surface issues on the sills and rear arches, ive attended to them with gen vaux regatta blue, but im wanting to paint her over winter, i just want to drive her for now lol
did you get a cable spudd ? i always have a spare in my boot , have done a few , but then again you have been in a car with me haha
Yes mate got two on order, shouldn't have this bother again lol, in all fairness though, how you were driving yours was tame to how I was driving mine sat afternoon lol
I assume the clutch cable outlet thing is bent? :gay:
It is indeed, and Andy trimmed it at an angle to make the bend on the cable less severe, i knew it had been done so didnt even think the cable might fail, annoying as I should've replaced it during the build but oh well lol

really really like this - good job!! is it a slide and tilt sunroof?
I always carry one too, and a throttle cable just incase as they hardly take up any room!
I am however disappointed at the lack of an early SFi box...
really really like this - good job!! is it a slide and tilt sunroof?
She has indeed got a tilt slide sunroof, really happy about that as I think they're ace, and thankyou, I'm really happy with how she looks now complete, think I might wind the front coilovers down another 10mm though as she still looks a touch too high!
Mazz, I did try it with the early SFI box on but it didn't seem to look as good and seemed to foul the firewall even more than the later one:eek:
Brother text me earlier on informing me that my clutch cables have landed today, I knew they would as I've been asked to work tonight at pizza shop so won't get to fit the cable till tomorrow or Friday night, no big shame in that though as its pissing it down here at the mo so she can stay warm and dry for now lol
New clutch cable fitted tonight and I've taken her out and done about 90 miles, oooohhhh sooo much fun lol
xe novas are great fun
you can get carried away lol
First day driving to work in her today, got some approving nods on the way here this morning which made me :d

Another mild update, over 100 miles done now and still nothing fallen off which is good lol
Dropped the front end down today as it was a touch too high, and discovered that id neglected to remove the lug on the gearbox which fouls the tiebar, so we needed some tlc using a grinder which Tommy kindly did for me, along with 'adjusting' my rear arches as they caught the tyres under load

Yeah that me.Its getting abit rough at mo as im trying to get my mk1 astra done in time for retro-car at pod in july but its getting a 20xe in the next couple of weeks.
Have you seen a red nova saloon kicking about or know who`s it is? Spotted it the other day but only at the last min so didnt get a proper look but looked smart.
Ive seen you about lots, i used to be based at our witham branch of trenton so saw you most days, the red loon is markd89 from here, he is beverly way on, did it have white wheels on it?
Im sure you will be seeing me about as im all over the place in mine at the mo, getting plenty of running in miles on her, and exercising the prowess of the old xe lol
Bimbled up to see Joff yesterday, sterling chap that he is, fitted an immobiliser for me as taking the ecu out everytime i went to work is/was a bit of a pain, plus i want the ecu behind the dash out of the way!
Didnt take any pics as i didnt want to get in his way and i was busy removing the rotten/snapped jubilee clips and old heat wrap from my exhaust, horrible stuff that, went all over me and im still itchy lol
Then took him up the bypass in it and i was surprised that he thought it fairly quick (in comparison to his 300bhp let)
And of course i had to snap a pic or two whilst i was there :d
Had to get Joff in shot, along with his nova and both meriva's lol

Cheers dude, i need some dealer sport rep mudflaps (the red/blue/yellow ones) for her but cant find any, and i need to mop the bootlid before i can fit my badges which i really want to get done!
People seem to either not think an egg can cause damage, or simply dont care but eggs do a right load of damage to paintwork, they leave a circular mark where the eggshell smashes and chips the paint, very messy and usually means that panel needs painting aswell:cry:
mud flaps on the bay mr spud :thumb:
as im after the same ones just dont no weather the chav will look right with them on lol

Cant you see by the rear arches, she was very poorly bless her, sold her to my mates sis in newcastle, she just kept on getting attacked by theives, they snapped the steering column off the car trying to break the lock, screwdrivered both doors, bent out the drivers door and funked up all the door skin, i bought it back and put it back on the road for a few months but the cross member tore off on the nearside, then i was offered my old red 1.2i cheap so i took most of the good bits and my mate scrapped her!

i like the steering wheel :)
will this be at billing ?
Aye she bloody well better be after all the graft gone into her lol
A few peeps said they thought the wheel was gash but i like it, originally came from my mates old cav turbo so its a bit sentimental, plus i refitted the factory wheel over the weekend and its too big and catches my knees
kool :) will have to have a nose around it then :)

as it stands, there is just one thing that annoys me about your Nova... The throttle cable. Please route it properly, It makes me cry every time I see it lol
Lol @ Andy, cos i was wearing trackies and thats how they swing off the steering lock lol
Err Lewis, how the funk have you got yours round there then (ive just spied your routing) is yours a short one from a corsa?
You can run them around the back of the inlet, i have, looks way way way tidier.
Hmmm, might have to have a look at that tomorrow, she is back at the unit for now as she has eaten both front wheelbearings
The joys of having two cars though, left her there and took the Astra home:thumb:
You have the same immobiliser as I had on my first Nova lol

Hmmm, no picatures from Lewis i see!
But anyways, nother update as she had managed to chew both front wheel bearings, so got them replaced this afternoon, was shown how to do one, then overseen by my mate as he is determined to show me how to do the lesser things and get me out of his hair lol

Bummer about the bearings dude.Is there any units to let near you? Going to be after one once the astra`s painted.
Nah its all good as i wanted to get the initial teething issues out of the way before i do any proper mileage in her:d
The unit i use is actually my mates and theyre all full up there at the mo (i want to get in one of my own if one comes up anyways) but its only a small place and the lads who are there have been there a good few years now so i dont think anything will be coming up in the near future:cry:
Guessing they weren't new bearings to start with then? Good working getting it all sorted. Put that fag out tho.
Put that fag out tho.
Agreed, bad dog, bad! lol
Nice work sir. Was the car left standing on the hubs with no CVs in as I beleive this can damage them?
Agreed, bad dog, bad! lol

Thats what i was led to believe
It was stood from aug 10-april 11 when i had it yeah.
Ahh that might explain the bearings then, not to worry as theyre done now, another good reason i wanted the car on the road a good stretch before any of the shows, wish it would bloody stop raining now as i want to go play out in the nova lol
Are the bearing easy enough Spud? I think mine is dying slowly. Are they pressed in, or just secured with the circlip?
Circlip and pressed, luckily Rich has a press in his unit which made the job a million times easier, ive got to do the rears tomorrow now as the nearside one has run dry and makes a squealing noise which luckily Rich heard as i moved the car (cant hear it inside) but he has left me the use of his unit tomorrow so all will be good!
Oh and to please Lewis (who still hasnt provided pics, neg rep for you lad :p) and on kissy Dave's advice, ive sourced a corsa 1.2 16v throttle cable and routed it the other way round :d

Only downside is that it gives stiffer feel to the pedal, and you need to watch where you route it as you can trap it between the fuel rail and SFi box and you dont want that as it will stick at full chat:eek:
I checked before firing her up btw, few sharp presses of the pedal to the floor and back, then checked for everything returning too, also gave the inner a good dousing in wd40 before fitting it and left it hung up for a couple of hours to run through:thumb:

They'll be fine, if you want them bedding in just do some fast roundabouts and get the AA cover ready lol
Nah my rears are fubarrred, i didnt have any grease covers for them till i went to scrappy today, so 200 miles without them, plus being stood for about a year and a half has finished them off, not surprising really but all part of the running in miles i wanted to do on the car, as id rather not find all four wheel bearings, and the clutch cable failing on the way to the national weekend, id rather it be local so ive got time and access to the unit to get it all done!

You worry too much, how much is a set of rear bearings anyway?
Dunno, Rich ordered some on his account at the local factors so ill find out in morning when i go pick em up lol
Btw you seen my post in the 'what turned up in the post' thread :d

Why did the transmission have ATF in it? lol
Why did the transmission have ATF in it? lol
Oh here we go.....
Why did the transmission have ATF in it? lol
Same reason it now has ATF in it again, better for the gearbox and faaar better shifting, Rich and Andy both used to work in a gearbox place, they and others always reccomend ATF over gear oil:thumb:
Soufie, nowt to do with me our kid, dunno what ya on about (suddenly remembers an old 'sundessential' album and runs off to the bay) lol

shame about the bearings but you will always get these little issues on a new build

well one of those would get a damned sight more use & sound better when you are playing it.
Pics don't work a page back :(

I did something similar with the throttle and wasn't keen on the stiffness... Means its scrubbing the sleeve and not moving freely. I then re-routed mine so you can only see a small amount of it and it still moves freely, I'll try and get a pic at some point.
I think my cable is a Astra GTE one, all hidden and pulls smoothly...

If you could, it would be appreciated, im going to see what the original cable feels like routed the same way but im not overly happy about this, hence me mentioning it feeling stiffer!
sorry I didn't get that picture, been working and not had chance. even though you've done it, i'm still going to get you one just because lol
i would just like to point out that people working in a gearbox place do not design gearboxes. gear oil is by far the best stuff for a gearbox, just as atf is perfect for an auto transmission. personally i hate gear oil, and atf is far nicer to play with, but i don't use it on manual boxes. it is designed to grip as it goes thru the workings of the box, so it will actually lose performance in a manual box. also you sort of ruined your argument by pointing out it previously had atf in & was crap.... sorry. i will not say any more on the subject.....
I didnt say it was crap before at all, its just a case of i didnt know what oil was in it, plus it had and will always lose a little oil when you drop the engine and change the shafts, so i had no idea how much was in there after that, so rather than trying to guess, it was easier just to drop it and change it, had bits of swarf in there aswell so its all nice and clean now and obviously newer oil, it feels smoother than it did previously!
And no i know Andy and Rich didnt design gearboxes, but after years of experience in the field clearly know a lot more on boxes than i do, so i listened to their advice and put atf in :p
Btw big update coming, spent nine hours machining and polishing her this afternoon, im fooked
Here's my 10p worth. I worked at vauxhall for nearly 10 years, the gearbox oil is actually gearbox oil, just it's red in colour from the factory. The red gear oil is no longer available, it's now completely clear. I had a pic on my old phone showing the part number, it wasn't the same as atf. Anyway......... looking good spudders, needs more lows!
Ahh in which case it might not've been atf before but it is now lol
Right, spent nine fecking hours on this beasty today, the paint is still really bad but i only used G10 on it as i didnt want to take too much off the surface as i dont know how thick the paint is, i think a respray will be needed for next year, but anyways....
Stripped the reg plate and wiper off the boot lid and masked up everything i didnt want to splatter with compound....

The way i machine polish cars, i do it a panel at a time, and hand polish each one as i go along, that way im polishing off the excess compound and putting a layer of polish on so that the compound doesnt stick to the polished panels as im moving round the car and machining the other panels..

Comments welcome, but im not 100% happy with the finish as the head on the mop wasnt the best in the world and the paint really is fudged, but im not complaining as my mate didnt have to let me use his mop or his unit haha!
Paint looks good, not feeling the badges though and where are you centre caps?
John i had red gearbox oil in feb last year and again in my combo last month on warranty gearbox jobs.
Atf is nigh on the same viscosity and is most definately the same cat piss smell.
I gave filled hundreds of manual Vaux,Vw's,etc etc on ATF and none of them ever came back for gearbox issues.
I know of at least 5 (off the top of my drunken head) boxes that still run it to this day from back in 05/06/07 when filled up with no issues.
Said garage, always has,and still does use ATF to this very day with no complaints.
Citroen/peugeot/renaults generally had engine oil put in.
"Gearbox" oil is the most overpriced junk there is for a car,far too thick and gloopy, resulting in bollox changes from cold=bolloxed gears.
The badges look so much better in person, they dont look good in pics i agree

Looks dam nice mate, come up lovely, though you still need to gel the bumpers/spoiler/mirror back's as they look faded etc, i use the simonize "clear" back to black stuff, looks like white glue lol
Oh are the badges in the right place? also im not kean on the 2.0 16v badge dude, just never have been a fan of that.
EDIT: Just found this from my mk1 thread, RE Badges position, so unless you wanted them in that position there not quite right dude.

The 2.0 16v wont be staying long, the 2.0 is the wrong font, ive got an 'i' and a '16v' to match the nova and vauxhall but i wont fit those till ive sourced the correct '2.0' one!
Centercaps cant go on as ive now fitted the grease covers on the rear drums (as i didnt have any before) and now the rears wont go on, i was going to make a thread in mechanical to ask about that one, how have others managed to fit speedline caps as they foul the grease caps:cry:
But back to the badges, as Andy said, they look way better in the flesh and im glad ive fitted them as the boot looked too plain with nothing on!
Oh and Scott, im going to dig out my bumper gel and give it all a going over in the morning, dont quite know where its gone but ive got a bottle somewhere lol

Looking good, there's something about this car for me, stealthy indeed mate.
Really does look wicked, and let me tell you,the amount of effort and hours the lad put in today reflects this, (s'cuse pun and all that!)
Cheers Andy, i appreciate your comments more than most as obviously she is your old baby and i always look at her and wonder if youll approve when i do stuffs lol
Looking good, there's something about this car for me, stealthy indeed mate.
Thankyou, i was very pleased when i fitted the badges today, said to Andy that id sourced the nova one from you, just need to get the 'Antibes' sticker copied and colour changed so i can get those on too:thumb:
I've never bothered running the dust caps with Speedlines. Admittedly I don't use the car much but it was a daily for a couple of years and never had a problem.

I've never bothered running the dust caps with Speedlines. Admittedly I don't use the car much but it was a daily for a couple of years and never had a problem.
I had Speedlines on mine for years, used the car daily in all weather for a good few years, and never had the dust caps on the rear, could just pack them with copper grease and then place some gaffer tape over them lol
I've never bothered running the dust caps with Speedlines. Admittedly I don't use the car much but it was a daily for a couple of years and never had a problem.
Ive done 200 miles without and its killed my rear bearings which ive just replaced, ive been told under no circumstances to run them without again as they get hot and all the grease runs out and lets the bearing run dry, hence my bearings needing replacement after just 200 miles!
Sure the bearings weren't done up too tight? Loads of people have ran Speedlines for years with no caps and no problems. I did over 5k on mine with the bearings that were on the car when I bought it.
Nope, they were done hand tight, then a quarter turn with a ratchet then split pinned, as how ive done the new ones which Andy checked for me this aft and said felt bang on, nice and smooth and no wobbles:thumb:
Points noted Andy :) looking even better now spudders! Like Graeme I'm not feelIng the badges, but it looks soooo much better with the bumper stripe :)
I would run them with the dust covers personally, but i ran them without for about 8 months and did like 6000+ miles in them with no problem.
I just packed them with grease, and then completely forgot about it, i only remembered when i took my wheel off to change a tyre lol.
Your bearing shouldn't of packed up after 200 miles imo, probably didnt help that fact that the cars been off the road for so long.
Thats what im hoping/thinking, going to have a spy at using something else as per Andy's suggestion just now via text, ill have a spy in the morning, hopefully the weather will be good for tomorrow as im hoping for some sun lol

I just thought i even had mine round Silverstone on at trax round the track, did a full open pit day at Donnington, and let Chris Slater have a go, and he cooked my rear drums till the paint pealed off! so IMO you can run them like it, theres two of us that have mate.
Scott
Just seen the weather, rain is forecast! Oh wait you're norf! Might get snow lol
Wouldnt surprise us!
Oh and spud, the plastic made it haha 45mph all the way home, joined the caravan club etc lol
John have faith pretty please, i wants a sunny day out
Scott really, i did wonder if it were possible for them to get hot enough for the grease to liquify and run out, but that seems to say its not lol
45mph, kin'ell, you mustve only just got home when i text you saying i was still there and polishing then lmfao :p

Well i had that car from what 2003 to 2006/7 on the road, and in that time i had to change the front bearings twice, and the rears never lol
BUT i had to replace the old track cars ones twice in one year on the rears, so im guessing they must seize up when a car is sat for long periods etc??
Found some old pics of the rear drum cooked..

Bloody hell those rear drums mustve got damned hot:eek:
I think ill have a spy at Andy's suggestion in the morning but im thinking i might just take the cap off, pack the space with grease and fit the speedline cap, they sit so close that the wheels cap should perform a similar job to the grease cap im thinking:thumb:
Which suggestion? LMFAO:d
Well definately not to conny one, im not going to buy a pair of wellies for my car ffs lol
go to conifer house theyre free lol
Nowt down, and not on a sunday either lol

no one uses the grease caps they just pack the bearing with grease and the centre cap keeps the crap out
no one uses the grease caps they just pack the bearing with grease and the centre cap keeps the crap out
now thats crap advice...
with my work, i use a lot of grease in various applications.
grease has a habit of expanding and becoming runny when hot..when you pack a hub with grease, you need to leave some air expansion room, but you need to seal it up so you don't get any ingress of moisture, in the form of condensation from it cooling down, which is why you should put the cap back on.

I did and i did for a friends, denting the top it means it clears the center cap and keeps the grease in and all the sh*t out.

As Benn did, flattened the grease cap, driller out the speed line cap with a cone cutter and stuck badge overthe hole. On the rear disc conv the Astra GTE caps and already flatter
Looks superb Spud!

Oh and while im here, i changed my fuel sender from one i got from tommy8252 at the meet the other week, and i now have a working fuel gauge, need to persuade my nearside (pattern) wing away from the wheel as it catches on bumps, then im going to re-mop the bonnet on thursday and fully valet and polish her ready for setting off to the national weekend on friday morning:d

car looks top notch spud, i thought of buying the antibes when the young lady was selling it but its ended up in safe hands and its a credit to you
i wonder/ assume im going to have the same issues with my grease caps and centre caps ill let you know
working on mine tomorrow or sunday weather permitting, ill dig the camera out and put some piccys up all being well
Id say its more a credit to Andy as he has put more graft into this car than anyone else has, or than anyone can see as he has done a lot of under the paint and behind the scenes stuff on the car aswell!
But hopefully she is in good hands with me though, although i darent drive her that much, as given the apalling standard of driving that some people have these days, im so nervous to take her out in case some numpty that cant drive, ploughs into me and takes the nova out:cry:
Thankyou though dude, she isnt a patch on your handywork but will be awesome to see some updated pics of yours, i hope Guin will be there lending a flipper as per usual lol
