    No, either box it out properly, or cut a slit, hammer in, grind clear and re-weld.

    no, my wleding and welder is ****, i cant afford a half decent welder so hammered panel is bound to be stronger!!

    Hammered in looks better imo. More factory usually.

    Also good to see someone else who is aware of the delights of Toolstation.
    I have never set foot in Screwfix since that place opened its doors.

    Gloves wouldn't hurt mind! Your reluctance to then is akin to Iain and his early tinkering days.

    I always wear gloves. Take them off for some things, but most of the stuff you do, they're ideal - good for keeping warm at this time of year also. Mine go well with two pairs of socks, tracksuit bottoms, Dewalt trousers, two t-shirts and a hoody and a hat.
