Really tempted to have a go at wrapping my t4 after seeing this.
What year did that come on? As i can't find one..
I think I have one somewhere, might have binned it though as no one wanted it!

Free engine! I hate you! I wish I'd kept quiet as buying this and bunging it in mine would have been cheaper than fixing mine.
It looks right at home in there though. :thumb: From what George said it was rolling roaded at around 110bhp anyway so it should be pretty nippy.

You've definitely saved yourself a small fortune doing it yourself, my mate looked into getting it done at a wrapping place on his golf and was around £1200!
Suits your nova really well though :)

The water pipe your talking about goes to where the throttle body used to be with the old inlet (near the EGR valve). The other pipe on the throttle body connects up to the header tank (Corsa has 2 outlets, Nova only has 1). You can connect it all up by tapping into (using a t-piece) the hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the header tank. Most people just blank the hose off and leave the throttle body as it is as that system was only designed for cars in arctic conditions to stop the throttle body freezing up.
The breather pipe used to connect to the inlet manifold as you say. You're best bet would be to buy or make an oil catch tank and just connect it to that. Then, once it's filled up just empty it and refit.
Regards hoses, get in contact with Paul at Roose Motorsport. I contacted him regards mine and ordered them all individually over a couple of months. I done it this way as it didn't seem a lot of money compared to spending out £200+ at once. This would be your best bet anyway as you use a mix of Corsa and Nova hoses.
L33 LEG
29-06-13, 09:27 PM
.
That's right yes. left one is a Corsa GSi hose (without aircon as rad/hose is different), the right top is standard nova, right bottom is a Nova GTE/GSi bottom hose. The other one is just a standard Nova one.
I don't see why it's got a t-piece in it. Maybe they've connected the throttle body up from there instead of how I said.
Looks really good though! It's hard to make these engines look "clean" as they have a load of sensors and wires etc everywhere.
I've spent absolutely ages rerouting mine etc without extending any wires. Like the big injector loom plug, i've managed to get it under the inlet manifold and route the injector wires up through the holes in inlet.
Also, one last thing. Have you connected or are you going to connect the air temperature sensor in the filter hose as I can't see it.
L33 LEG

It should look like the picture below. You need it as it is the equivalent of an air flow meter (which the c16xe had but they changed it on the x14/x16).
http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/me5GW83We-BsVyegzQBjrcw.jpg
[EDIT] The wiring will probably be around the same area as the EGR valve as it would have connected near the throttle body into the black plastic inlet manifold/filter pipe.
L33 LEG
29-06-13, 09:50 PM
.
Looking at the pictures when you first put it in, the air temp sensor was connected to the original black filter hose:

lol You have got to put it somewhere between the inlet manifold and air filter so in the filter hose somewhere.
Here's where I put it on mine:

It's just an old gt full suspension, only paid £120 for it and I've no need for it now. I'm currently building my old frame up which I had when I was a kid, got some proper old skool carbon and titanium sid race forks for it with xtr v brakes, going to make it a full spec bike from back then.
What Scott have you got?
Oh nice and send me a pic just incase... Mines only a cheap mid level spect 55. I like DH style more as it's what i used to drive.. I like to sit up more..

Cracking stuff mate. Goes to show if u want something it's worth waiting for.
Ive got an e16se for my nova but always preferred the c16se as its got a coil pack and no airflow meter. Only thing I thought was the wiring loom for the c16se engine was intergrated with the car loom?
Also I'm sure I saw a proper nova air box for that engine for sale the other day. Can't think if it was on here or one of the Facebook nova groups. IMO would be nicer with the proper air box.
+ everybody I've known to have a x16xe has slated them!
Its nice to see a nova engine in a nova IMO.

Also might be worth pm'ing John h on here as I sold him 1 a while back then saw he put it up for sale a little while after. Im not sure if he still has it or not but worth a try.

I had a c16 in my old gsi. I made the mistake of putting a big block in it n ruined the car.
Im going for a 1.6 8v in my build also. Nice to see a nova engine in a nova these days lol. I've been looking in to turboing the 1.6 engine quite a bit recently. Would be an awesome engine for a nova IMO.

No chance. I had a c16 in my black nova and then put an xe in it, never felt right. The 1.6 is perfect for a nova IMO for just driving about normally.
