Lee I work for the company you bought the coilovers from. I did reply to your ebay message this morning but just check the drop link. Just looking at your pictures the topmount looks like the early type which will possibly have a different drop link setup to the ones used on the coilovers.

Bargain! You can't go wrong at that price! Get them fitted anyway and just fit the drop links when they turn up!

I'm liking the speedy progress on this! I used the FK's for a while. The only reason I took them off was the front didn't go mega low but they do give a decent drop still and ride fairly nicely. I went straight from KW V3 to the FK and for general day to day use the ride was fairly similar.

When I did my wrap I decided to get all new bumper and arch clips from BMW. The guy on parts said they would be about £30. When I picked them up I got slapped with a £75 bill. As you say they are so easy to work on. The wrap was such a simple job as all the trims and stuff just pop on and off.

It's a cheap and cheerful kit. For coilovers under £200 you can't really go wrong. I always sell them as a disposable kit. If one goes after a year just replace the one for £50-60. People generally only post bad reviews but we get fewer problems with them than some of the more expensive kits.

Heres mine on the FK with the lowest setting on 17's
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/34923_10150207876440720_2236031_n.jpg

And on the AP's I'm using now. I still have about 20mm to go with them too.

I ended up trimming the arch liners and the wheels now catch on the bonnet lol

Only problem is, your Gunna get someone come up behind you in another hot hatch, and they will pull from you... Shame it dousnt go as well as it looks it should!

On a lighter note I love the look of it! Reall looks smart! I can see some carbon fibre parts suiting that!

Nice work!

do you have any plans for further insulation of the garage door??

is the door at the top of the stairs an external or internal type door?

is the ceiling of the 'tilly' room insulated?

i ask cos a mate of mine bought a house with an integral garage & the house was incredibly cold. we discovered the garage ceiling & walls weren't insulated & the garage-house door was an internal one. it cost him a few bob, but after insulating & swapping the door, his heating costs dropped massively.

http://www.ecotileflooring.com/store/ecotile-product-selector/garage-flooring

There you go mate. I went for the 6mm tiles as they are more than good enough for a garage and have the black smoothed type, they look better and also dont show the 'jigsaw' connection like others do. Be warned though that they are expensive but easily worth every penny. Im so chuffed with them and once they are clean they look spot on. They are decent guys aswell, drop them an email and they should be able to knock the £29 a square meter or whatever it is down alot for you. Tomorrows job for me is actual power washing my old tiles as they are full of dust from the work iv done, they will come back to black with a bit of work Lol.

Cheers mate
Is it ok to use jacks and axle stands etc. to work on cars n stuff without damaging them?

I had a genuine 325 sport a few years back, unfortunately it needed some work and I was halfway through doing it when I changed jobs and lost my storage space so had to let it go for project value and lost a fear bit of wedge on it.

I will get another in the future, never finished it so only half scratched that itch

Cheers, my front and rear BBK conversion is almost ready to go on! Wheels sold it for me on the colour, although I am thinking of changing them.

I have seen the white one, on borbets? Pretty sure it is genuine, looks right to me and comes up as a sport. I know what you mean though, white doesn't look quite right for a sport. Needs to be dolphin grey IMO, best colour for the lines. Seriously rare though!

I want a full exterior hit in silver done on mine but I've never had any paintwork done before as I always worry it wouldn't be up to scratch. Currently just asking people local who they use so might look into dropping him a message (as I also have no idea what to expect to pay!)

That's impressive! How much do you reckon it would cost for materials for a full DIY wrap on a nova? I'm not going to do it, but I'm a nosey Cnut! lol

I forgot you had this, me my self I really dislike vinyl wrapping, only as I've seen what bad things can happen when removing it..
Plus from that pic it looks not to shine no where near as good as paint does.
But it's your car dude, I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Interesting. I would be worried about scratching the paint cutting it though. How to you treat the wrap? wax?

Nice work on the wrap! Shame it will lose that nice reflection though! :thumb:

It's dead easy to clean. You will struggle polishing any small hazing or scratches out but I just use normal wax on mine and it keeps it looking good. Over 2 years on and my Mini looks as good as when we did it except for a few stone chips.

Leg, very impressed with your wrapping, getting it in all nicely in the bits around the windows.. Shame it's not very shiney tho.
