wow ive just gone thru all 73 pages what great pics. im on page 21 the rolling road feature, clint sawyer 1.4sri nova and got a good write up on it.i worked a night job then drove straight there then after back to lincoln for a stag do was awake for 26hours wat a day.

i used to run region 20 lincolnshire/leic/notts met sum great lads+lasses they where the good old days.

i had a nova sri j509 ufa,well still do its been sat on my mums drive for 5years was goin to try and rebuild her but hav a house now and want a kid so ive stripped her and selling parts on ebay then will scrap the shell as its rotten, i just cudnt part with her didnt want any1 else to have her sounds mad.

i now have a corsa gsi c20xe spent the nova rebuild money on the corsa engine rebuild after melting a piston a trax.

still miss the nova she was a great car better than my corsa even with 186bhp.

my nova was so much fun on the track days i did in her.

on page 58 i set up the bruntingthorpe track day. that was a wicked day.

Jeeeeeeez! 75 pages brings back some amount of memories!!! Will have to dig out my old photos going back to 98 and see if i can get the scanner working, especially since my shed seemed to avoid all the pics so far apart from the odd corner sticking out lol.

Unfortunately the sri's now long since dead, was completely rotten after too long sat outside when my 1.6 16v conversion ran out of steam.

Got the nova bug well and truly again now though. Going to have to drag the L reg out of storage and get her straightened up!!! Not so sure on the softstars now though, Mim rafino's are sooooo tempting as are racelines, MO's........ and then there's the sport................

started with a 1.3 sr, then a sri that, after various guises, i popped the engine in and started the valver conversion. Got a blue GTE to run about in while I was doing that (still my favourite) that succumbed to the brown rot. Picked up the L reg which is in a bit of a sorry state now after letting the ex drive it (the gsi looky like didn't last long) and a few scrappers that i ran for a while then split. And now have the sport tucked away also awaiting my attention again, got distracted for a while with my P1 lol

Was re-doin the Nova he said, but then disappeared for a bit. He was working at VW press office at one point, and then last I heard Mclaren/Mercedes

Yeah, the Red one was mine, for 15s they looked big. the the Hock 2's only looked good in 17s. My fav wheel. I had 195/50 Michelin tyres on that had massive spread, rubbed on every part of the body.

Did someone mention dodgy scouser with a shabby red Nova? Could that be me??

It's in the garage now - just had a week off work to rebuild it... new fuel lines, new 'box, few tweaks here and there, sorting the interior. Hope to have it ready for Trax so I can see if the valves really do burst out of the bonnet at the end of Hanger Straight. If I time it right I reckon they'll bounce off the underside of the bridge!

Would upload a photo of how it looks now but don't have a photobucket thing. I'll happily send it on if anyone can upload.

Old school is the new cool, I'm told. Looking forward to more old school stuff at Trax...

Thats cos a lot of people tidy out pb every now and then or move pictures in albums which i try not to do even though pb is a mess it keeps all my links/pics where they were posted lol!

that was the airfilter, i was running a very early MBE management system i got from dave at BAT motorsport, it meant i could junk the airflow meter and all that stupid inlet tract that runs under the inlet manifold as standard, was a tight squeeze getting the pipe to exit that way to the left though
it ran rich as funk too as i also had his 300 degree cams on a plenum and never got it remappedlol went to tbs soon after that holiday iirc
it looks mega clean there too, had just got it out the bodyshop, they were the days i worried about lookslol it is nice to see the old pics though

Seeing all of this lot again has brought out the nostalgia in me.

Anyone know if you can still get those loopy Mattig kits for Nova/Corsa-A's?
I've been looking for a proper wide kit for it, one that looks decent, not some jap style pile of crud. I've seen some rallycross kits but they may not be quite wide enough for my plans.

Also have a Nova Salon lurking in the yard, and my old Omega MV6 Estate which I'm going to break..... I feel a bit of welding coming on here.....

Must get "Harry" finished first, that's Old Skool Thundersaloon of the most mental of types.

Its had a few owners since i sold it, think they all bought it with the intension of it being a easy fix but it was quite rotten in places! I personally welded both chassis legs!

Finally got a scanner again so as promised here's what Nova stuff i can presently find. Most of the mags were binned years ago, and i have some in the parents loft still.

Some aren't in the old skool sticky I know, but some others probably are, if someone wants to sort what's any good and what's not and move it to the sticky that would be spot on.
