Wow. I didnt think too much of Cris Bows Nova back in the day but seeing that feature has brought it all back & I'm in love with it. Cavalier leather seats look awesome.

Those old school Courtenay touches were so classy & seperated the men from car park boys in the trashy budget SRs etc.

Yes it sure is, got a message off him to say hes looking for a new engine for it, last time it was seen was on the hard shoulder of the M1 i think which was back in the Redline days I think?

His ralye has just gone back on the road in the last few weeks back to standard trim etc

The Nova lives!! That's F173 KVR, just in case you're wondering. It is currently in the keep of my honourable and trusted friend who has promised to make it roadworthy by April 1st. Sounds like a gag to me.

The red Nova is alive, but I've spent almost a year out of work and cash has been a bit thin. Managed to get the Golf Rallye back on the road, but now it's away for winter. The Nova is next.

Just on the lookout for a solid, reliable and mildly tuned 1.6 8v, preferably with B+ head. Any takers? Drop me an email.

So, where is... John Haslam? Steve Carter-Hounslow? Clive Denton with the Ribena coloured A88 JVP Nova who, thanks to a single page feature in the back of Max Power (written by a then nubile and green Vicki Butler-Henderson) managed to start the whole Nova explosion via thePerformance Nova Group?

And what about John Hilton and the blue/gold Nova in the May 1996 issue of Max P? Rockhard car.

Who remebers the 'Novaindulgance' group thrash from the November 1996 issue of Max?

How about Nick Caro, Brett Warburton and Siemons' Nova feature in the July 1997 issue?

Anyone got a scan of a certin feature in the November 1995 issue of Max P to post?

This old Skool thread has kept Jason (Hudson) and baldy Walshy up to the small hours - Searles with hair, shocker! A 16V TB, etc. All good.

If I ever get the chance, we'll dig out our old school photos and videos and get 'em uploaded. It might take a while at 56k... Nothing happens quickly when you're old, specially when you're on-line via a Spectrum ZX-81. It's taken us 4 hours to write this.

PS - Anyone seen Mr Hudsons' Nova? L 331 APJ. Last seen in the Carlisle area after an altercation with something more solid. It was taken roughly from behind, did the boot floor, write-off but still being driven.

PPS - For sale, TOTALLY STANDARD 1.2-litre Nova, white, standard. 75k and 2 owners from new, tax, needs CV boot for MOT. Three spoke alloys. New job forces sale. It even comes with the original Vauxhall key fob from the original dealer. Fully serviced and ready to rock. Well, roll on the standard suspension set-up. Turn-key old school cool for ?100. Email for pics. Or contact JOV who can do numbers...

My favourite MAX features were Novacane (now owned by RJM) & Nervous breakdown (Mark Watts')

This guy was a bit of a tw@t when I spoke to him about how he sorted the tie bars on the F28 conversion. He wouldn't tell me how he'd done it and told me to sort it out myself.

Saw the car the following year - he'd cut the tiebar and rewelded it lower - not good with 200bhp through the front wheels.

Not seen it for a while - made a reappearance in a Max Power a couple of years ago I think.

Fast Car - October 1996 - Andy Windsor's 2.0 turbo citrene yellow :-

This guy was a bit of a tw@t when I spoke to him about how he sorted the tie bars on the F28 conversion. He wouldn't tell me how he'd done it and told me to sort it out myself.


Nice. Loved the colour on that car. Andy sold it to his mate who went on to ruin the car. He then PX'd it at a local sports car place to me - which is where Mike Marden purchased it... Mike sold it to another local guy a few years back and he managed to stuff it into a bus, no idea where it is now (or how many pieces its in).

I had a set of five of these rims,no marks at all on them,sold them for ?40
seeing them in anthracite with polished rims i realy wish i'd kept them for my GSi:(

found these old pics of my 1st nova, a 1.3 sr, i smoothed the swage lines in the bumpers and big mouthed the gte front, made eye brows, from scratch, and got rid of any rust and repainted it, sold it, but sadly its dead now, miss my old sr, any way here is a couple of pics i thought i should share

This is my car, I'm driving every day.

Up to now its a Opel Corsa A-CC 1.4 Model: "SwingPlus"
which was a reimport from Finland (built in 1993)

It features:
- heated seats
- lowering kit
- original GSI-Alloys
- Irmscher front and rear bumper
- original GSI-sideskirts
- another exhaust
- original GSI-Interrieur
- electrical working windows (how are these called in proper english?)

Both had 1ltrs, however my bros ended up with a 1.3 carb out of an astra, think they are the same, or are bery similar to, the 1.3SR engines u get in novas
