Some kind of european wheel. ATS maybe?? That is a Nova from Holland. There was a UK silver GSi that had a set of these wheels on, maybe the same ones.

on the same page as this in the haynes book thee is a purple wide arch nova just above it , that nova is still going around scun-thorpe , its exactly the same as it was then but its had about 4 owners since then haha

Purple one doesn't have spot lamps in the front bumper! and only has a povety spec washer bottle!

That white mk1 SR /\/\ Is stunning. It went on to have a LET lump installed later on. I just love how much of a stealthy car it is. 200 bhp & still showing the 1.3 stickers.

F506 UNV has just recently been on e-bay, didn't meet it's reserve, and top bid was 150 quid! It had been stripped of anything any value and was running a 1.3! Even the strut top had managed to detach itself (again Lol!)

Anyone know how I could get the PNG Nova/Santa POD footage from VHS onto You tube or similar?

Get a analogue to digital pc converter.
Or record it from vhs onto dvd with a standalone dvd recorder.
Then rip that to your pc and convert it.

Also got a full joint Max Power feature from June 1995 on "MAP18W" Turbo'd GTE,and another nova,which i'll get scanned tomorrow.

Dave Nield is from Oldham, I used to go paintballing with him all the time. He had a quick 1.3 sr in Helios Blue that he crashed heavily in Saddleworth on the moors. Bought a shell, painted it green and 'shelled it. That's the reshelled one above!!!He put a calibra interior in it later.

Car still looks OK in that old feature!!! Except et35 Stealths!!

i thought this thread would be most appropriate as i've just bought a mk1 1.3 sr in red with original "snow plough" front end "burberry" interior and ony 58k. also to boot theres a 60mm drop on shocks and springs, some white multispokes and k&n induction, with more to come.

It was running a big power carb`d engine till recently and was built bk in the mid 90`s iirc thats whats old skool about it,

Indeed, because the majority of kitted up/poorly modded/poorly maintained novas have died come MOT time.

I looked at buying it (car) before Neil did. I chose to have mine turboed instead as I felt it was too much money at the time.

what an absolute awesome thread, you simply cannot beat owning a nova. so wish i was ten years older and had one 'back in the days'.

i havnt spotted a nova that lives near me tho throughout this thread. its well known in lancashire and i think it was built around 99 and apparantly at the time was one of the first with flip paint, big wheels, valver etc. even tho i know of alot of 2.0ltrs from 95, so aybe it was done before that.

anyway cant find any pics of it really apart from this crappy one, is it well known from here. it used to and still goes to all the shows and across europe time to time...

LOL. I'm sure there is a Nova in there somewhere, it was cars like the one above that ruined the appeal of Novas IMO. The market for 'bolt on tat' exploded & mis informed youths all chopped up & ruined decent cars in an attempt to build something eye catching. In most instances they didnt get past the primer & filler stages.

Yeah, it was rotten because it had been abused all it's life, and he cut the roof off to make a convertible with 20" wheels, and it disintegrated into little pieces.

I remember seeing it at trax in 2001 (?) and it was F8CKED back then. It was very skilfully photographed when it was in Fast Car magazine (a bit like ian searles car when it was in TV!)

Then made the stupid decision to sell it to my mate who killed in within six months and it was turned in to a classic rusty / dinted wreck :cry:

Wheels live on though on my Corsa which is basically styled the same as an old school nova :thumb:

what an absolute awesome thread, you simply cannot beat owning a nova. so wish i was ten years older and had one 'back in the days'.

i havnt spotted a nova that lives near me tho throughout this thread. its well known in lancashire and i think it was built around 99 and apparantly at the time was one of the first with flip paint, big wheels, valver etc. even tho i know of alot of 2.0ltrs from 95, so aybe it was done before that.

anyway cant find any pics of it really apart from this crappy one, is it well known from here. it used to and still goes to all the shows and across europe time to time...

ye hes still got it, well did earlier this year, doubt he'l ever sell it. its locked up most of the time tho but now and then during spring and summer ul see it driving about.

obviously now the styling of it is a bit crappy, but at the time it was such an awesome car and achievement. and he has driven MILES and MILES in that thing and it still looks as good as it did all those years ago.

Just been reading through this thread. Its amazing especially with me being a slightly more mature nova owner. The vicki butler henderson nova was pretty cool. Ive still got the vhs tape (burning rubber) of her racing clarkson in the 5.2 litre rover v8. He got away from her in the straights but in the corners the nova was outstanding. Will need to post the pics of my old novas.

From what i remember vb henderson spent the 5 grand upgrading everything whilst clarkson just spent it on the engine and body at left the brakes and suspension standard hence the reason why the rover didnae handle that good.

Just had a good look through this thread, blast from the past! Seen the photos of mine and cant believe its been 6 years since i rebuilt it!

As for my car, you wont of seen it for awhile as its been living in Germany at the Nurburgring. Did the best part of 150 laps round there, having one engine rebuild in the process plus countless other parts. Now have a golf gti out there so home came the nova. Did silverstone in it this year and realised it needs a few bits doing so its off the road until next year then it will be back purely as a track day car, gone are the days of me doing show and shine with it.

Had a few pretty decent cars over the past few years but still have the nova as its easily the most fun...

Just got myself a 1960 splitscreen camper which i am currently restoring, will be mint one day just like the nova was, just takes a bit more time and money than the nova;)

No cups of tea, just Bitburgers and large smokes if you know what i mean being served out the back of this one;) You should take a look at the air cooled vdub scene, very chilled and people really push to be different, just when you think you have seen it all something new comes along.

Talking of old skool, wish i had got myself a camper when i bought my nova... The damn thing would be worth a fortune now!

Glad i kept mine though, if you look on the forums all the old owners who sold theirs, tried other cars etc are now buying nova's again and building mint one's, should be a good year!

Wish i had known Rick had put his nova up forsale (Gary Hopes old one) I would of bought that car especially for what he was asking! One car i would of really liked in my garage...
