I sprayed my Bumpers on Saterday, They come out pretty good,..
And today I G3 the hole car,.. Want to Tcut it tomorrow and then was it,.. But I Have some things I want to touch up first..
Once waxed I will clean the glass and give the interior and bay a good clean up then am about ready for PV :)

No. I've only been once and wasnt too keen tbh, and that was a few years ago when apparantly it was better. The time and money it'll cost to get down there it's not worth the risk incase it rains.
Have fun though lol

lol just for your gay plate off your Yaris?
lol i've been after an L reg nova for years just incase i want to put one of my reg's on.
Oh lol,..
As you did ask first you would have first refusal,.. If and its a big IF... You keep it as a TD and don't stick a petrol in it as these diesels are stupidly rare now!
Dont look too bad there bud but those front indicators dont suit it at all, and wtf goes on with the side exit exhaust, youre gonna have a black wheel and quarter by the time youve run it for a while and id reckon soot will stain the paint on the quarter too:cry:
The indicators were Green lol, so this was a free solution, I will buy some new ones for it one day,...
The side exit I do however like,.. yes i do get soot,... but i did when it come out the rear,...
If it stains it stains,... can alwasys spray it again, but I don't think it will.
Thanks anyway

Standard will keep with a 1.3 nova I would say, ... mine though wouldnt be far off a gsi, and probably beat it upo hills etc
I had a Sri corsa a while back and this is much better
Yes you dont have power high up but you have loads at 3000 and the torque is incredible...
If your going 50mph in 5th and floor it, she will hit 26psi and just fly off lol :)
The indicators were Green lol, so this was a free solution, I will buy some new ones for it one day,...
Come see me at PV for another free solution mate, ive got a spare pair of clear OE front indicators you can have for a beer and a burger:thumb:
Thats about £20 at PV lol
Not if you bring em yaself you plum lol
lol ok thn, bbq are not aloud are they??
Am taking a stove though, and plenty of bacon!!
Wtf who said that ya plum theyre fine although if ya got a stove take it, theyre more effective space-wise in a nova boot than five or six bbq's lol

unlucky about the engine mount mate, but shes gunna be propa quick with the 1.7 :d
scott.parker
01-07-10, 06:40 PM
Bad luck dude, BUT as we said at PV you do need to get the engine out to sort the bay out... so it's all positive.
Yeah I guess it not such a problem, running my old mans 406 estate atm so am fine vehicle wise
lol i bet that will be an inspiring drive :p did you/he manage to get the A4 in the end then?
Pretty bad about the engine mount, but happened at a good time though really, as you were planning to take it out and chuck the 1.7 engine in anyways.

lol that's what i thought. but from the amount of work that hes put into it recently, the 7% is probably still quite a percentage of the project
cant wait to see it done :)
Tell him to get a move on lol
i'll tell him lol. hes at his dads this week, so probably wont get much done, unless he goes home
Been home every day apart from Tuesday..
Right that 7% is to get the engine shafts, loom mounts, etc connected, the easiest part.
Engine is waiting to go in but can't go in until I get a bolt which is on order for the drivers side mount!
Will have it running by saterday hopefully and (fingers crossed) Tax and tested and nearly done by the mid week :D

Will have a 1.6 8v on bike throttle bodies and other bits, not sure what bhp it will run and not bothered tbh, but i should running it down the quarter mile as i will be intrigued what it will run
Oh cool , what injectors are you using ? and what management?
Injectors are undecided, was thinking the 1.6 ones will be sufficient?
No really clued up on the different size injectors etc, seeing as all my cars have been carbed  :wtf:
Oh and will be run on megasquirt :p
Its being done as a project at uni so will involve lots of calculations and have to make the manifolds on solidworks first  should be fun though :d
awesome :) Yeah think the standards would do... maybe up the fuel pressure a bit though

hope your getting there with this matey!! will have to sort a meet in lincoln out!!
Ohh i thought there was an update
We have had some progress..
My head and blocked are as straight as a bannana :)
I have a new engine which has been stripped and clean... requires painting
and am going to smooth the bay before refitting so it looks perfect..
Interior I want to de-pin the doors and fit remote central locking.. I want some recliening buckets and a custom rear bench (half leather I think)
Thats about it... Might even fit Nos for PV11
Cheers Dan

Whats the current engine spec of yours dan? Been reading a few 1.5td tuning guides after seeing you have 104bhp, quite interesting
Well it had 2 turns in on the max fuel screw.. no actuator connected and the white ring removed.. would sit at 25psi in top gear pulling very hard..
Any way that were last summer am now on to bigger and better things :)
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/th_MOV01111.jpg (http://s818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/?action=view¤t=MOV01111.mp4)
Theres it on the dyno.. excuse all the talking of ****e
Here is a long deserved update!!
Any way engine mount bolt broke in july.. here is the engine when I started to remove it!
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/DSC00402-1.jpg
Well after removing the engine I found I lot of rot.. I mean front panel, arches, inner wings and stut tops were cracked, Outriggers etc etc...
I cut it all out and fitted a new front panel and plated the inner wings, archs and made completly new outriggers from some very sturdy stuff!!
Here she is with a bit of primer :)

whilst the engine is stripped, i suggest getting your self an air oil cooler to go with the water one aswell
helps stop the water temps going nuts on full boost lol
Count Vaux Alot
11-12-10, 03:49 PM
Baxter which cooler and take off woukd you recommend? When i looked at that Idea for mine I noticed you would need a special mounting bolt (the one that goes up the middle in to the block) if you intended to mount the oil to air cooler in the same place as the oil to water one.

nice project yourve got here, saw you at PVS doing a few runs up the strip then tried to find you to have a natter. i had a 1.7td corsa at the time and ive now got count vaux alot's old 1.7td corsavan.

what i did was just use a sandwhich plate, M20 iirc, on the top of the water one, was a bitch to do, i used a 13row cooler, was sound, temp never went above 1/2 even with a 1min full throttle hammering lol
And now

Cheers Mark
Count vaux: cheers.. I used a 30quid gauge of ebay, I think it were some thing like motorgauge?!

looks good together fella!! if i sort a meet in lincoln you coming??
Yeah I will come, have not been to a meet in over a year!

I would fit one if I thought it would make a difference!

04-01-11, 01:08 PM
yea man sweet well im organising something at the pride off lincoln maybe the 16th but not shure yet!!
Perfect mate, foods good there to..
i can`t prove that they are better power wise, but just looking at the two manifolds together the n/a must flow more because of the increased plenume size and the bigger intake pipe, and in my opinion it makes rooting the turbo pipes easier :)
Might get one then, just bought a corsa td rad which is 50mm less wide so I might be able to get the boost pipes down the side of the rad for a front mount, and my oil cooler :)
yea i got my boost pipes to fit, i had to move the rad over a a bit though
How comes youve left the safetyvalve/standard dupm valve in, you want that blanked off as it will be robbing you of boost higher up the psi!
Count Vaux Alot

It's welded.

looks good dan :thumb: where are you going to route the oil cooler pipes, over the bell housing? would there be enough space between the chassis leg and the timing cover to run the pipes round the back? then you will barely see them at all
Cant Injection pipes in the way, it can only go there :(
That looks so wrong, I thought diesel engines were just naturally covered in oil/fuel, must just be mine lol

Any way the cooler is perfect for now, if you thrash it the outlet is around 23 degrees.. So thats fine

Yeah he did. He charged £30 as the mounts were hard to blast. he say anything flat will be dead cheap, like wheels etc

Well this is how the day started..
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01394.jpg
Lots of filler waiting to be sanded :(
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01395.jpg
Cut these useless pieces of metal up, folded them back and welded them to the chassis leg to help with clearence for the oil coiler pipe work..
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01396.jpg
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01397.jpg
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01398.jpg
And did the same the other side, hopefully I will be able to fit my rad now with the engine in :)
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01399.jpg
Another quick rub down and spray with filler primer..
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01400.jpg
2 hours of sanding the N/S left me with this,.. just requires a bit more bodge applying.
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01401.jpg
Bodge applied..
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01402.jpg
Rubbed down again and brush painted some primer into certain areas
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01403.jpg
http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz102/balley77/Nova%20TD%20Project/DSC01404.jpg
It just wants the N/S finishing off :(, light rub down and then washing off, panel wiping, brush painting primer (on N/S), seam sealer adding, final wipe then full primer adding, colour, and clear coat.. So I have a lot to do but am getting there!
Good progress, top man for cracking on with this ;)
Cheers Connor, give it a month or two and it should be done,.. well on the road any way :)

Nope hopefully a month or two :)
hi mate just wanting to know what you`ve done to your fuel pump and y?
Machined the boost plunger so the fuel pin can move more and at a faster rate (like doing the white ring but allows a bit more, another 0.5mm of travel to be exact.)
I have heard of this mod on VW and Landrovers so thought I would do it and give it a try considering I have a spare pump..
Have you adjusted your plunger at all as in turned it ? I got another 1/4 of a turn on mine which makes a lot of difference!
no i haven`t done any of that, have you got any pics? so i can what you have done :)
I have a photo but you would know I have done anything as theres nmothing to compare it to,.. basically your standard plunger is excentric so you can finally tune it, We have found the turning so its as far away from the fuel pin makes the same difference as thye whit ring mod again!
yea that sounds good, i think im going to wait until the engine is all together and in the car before i start fine tuning it :)
Yeah same with mine but, I have just got my spare plunger machined so Am ready just to swop it over!
that sounds a bit drastic
Not really, its half a mm smaller thats all.
Been busy over the last couple of days, I have primed and painted the the bay!
I will let the pictures do the talking :)
