    Hole drilled in the new panel where it overlaps an old one, about 8mm big, then with a mig welder you weld around the edge of the hole with a bit of extra power and wire speed and work your way into the centre of the hole as you go. It's the poor mans spot-weld basicly, but done right it will penetrate right though the inner sill skin and into the lip of the floor skin, basicly re-inforcing the original spot-welds along that seam.

    It's recommended to use the technique in the GroupA build guide inbetween the original spot-welds in any area you cant run a bead of weld, like where the steering arms come through the front chassis legs.
