Should have just had a few more sensible optional extras in my opinion, such as power steering, leather/ half leather trim, 15" alloy wheels, etc most importantly though would be corrosion protection, they should have galvanised the shell from new, they are ok if you wash them all the time but there is a big improvment to be made, oh and relocate the battery from the scuttle panel to somewhere else, such as the boot ( so it dosnt trap water under it and rot the battery tray)

Thats the thing though, it was the 80s and all cars were round square blocks

Nowadays we've left round cars behind and they're going for the stretched look. (new astra, corsa, vectra) same front end as far as iam concerned!!

    Default 1.6 low compression

Yeah if only vx made a 1.6 low compression turbo engine in par with the fiesta/escort rs turbos, i mean ford came out with the 1.6 series 1 turbo engine in like 1984/85 or earlier surely did that not inspire them to rival with that rather than the big blocks 1.8 2.0L's and they only came in boring cavs and calibras.

We wouldn't have to bother with these stupid double head gasket conversions, that screw up after a hard 7/10k thrashing (from what ive read, sold mine as i didnt wait around to see)
