then tonight, i was heading home & there are some new plastic speed humps on the main road into town..... 3 of the hinckley krooze massive were out.... the lead is a rover 25/mg type thing in minty green with bad boi spoilers... he stopped dead, then crawled over the 1st one, followed by a 'stanced' golf & finally a rover 100 with the obligatory argos pea shooter backbox, fluid drained out of the suspension, and 2 occupants with their heads bobbing like a churchill dog toy.....
then they got to the second hump & i thought 'enough of this game of thrones' (but with 3 dozen swear words added) and i used my L200 for what its meant for, and did the other 4 speed humps at exactly 30mph and headed home...
and the govt (and guardian readers who still wear clarks shoes, even though they aren't in junior school any more) wonder why sales of 4x4's are still on the increase!!!!!!!
In fairness most speedbumps are a **** to drive over in most cars smaller than a Vectra/A4 etc. I would rip them up overnight, as all they do is damage the small cars of sensible drivers
google map search cv130ad and look for fields farm..
the farm where my brother lives (and our firm is based) is where our uncle lived & farmed since the 1950's. me & my brother have been connected with the place since the early 70's. its odd really, but we know every bit of the place and after 40 odd years, we still love it. as far as we are concerned, it is the finest place in the world.
i know we are biased, but i genuinely get a buzz when i drive towards work in the morning & turn the corner into the valley.
i was haymaking on friday evening & i have not been as happy in my work for a very long time. the place is genuinely beautiful. there are deer, hares, buzzards, and plenty of other wildlife.
