i thought this car isn't allowed to be modified between the wheel centres??? surely that chopped bit of firewall breaks your rules, no? also, whats your oil catch tank (I assume that's what it is, on the bulkhead) taken from?

Fortunately you are allowed to make modifications purely for the intake system, so I can get away with that.

The catch tank came off an F1 car, I don't know which one, it's beautifully made.

A little more playing about with the fuel system.

A new swirl pot (the 3rd one, and I am now happy with it), plus the high pressure fuel pump is now fitted and piped up.

The fuel tank has now been modified and I shall be collecting it from my welder on Monday, so I will post up pictures of it then. He's ex-Prodrive, so it should be good

Yes, there will be a low-pressure fuel pump located down by the tank.

The modified fuel tank came home with me today, I'm really pleased with it, exactly what I asked for and fits perfectly;

When are you aiming to compete then this year?

I'm still hoping for this year (albeit the hillclimb season ends around October), now I've got the fuel system sorted the list is getting shorter.

Main things outstanding now are ;

Clutch release system (still playing about with hydraulics)

The pedal box needs fitting and plumbing up, as well as a throttle cable making

All the new switchgear inside the car needs wiring up, together with wiring for the new fuel pumps and the battery

I am still waiting for the MBE new dash display system to be ready - SBD promised I would have it for the end of April, but there have been delays in production of it (it's a new design of LCD display). Stupidly I sold all the instrumentation I raced with previously so I could afford to buy this new display, and didn't have a contingency plan for delays.
