The tapered insert is an interference fit into the drilled knuckle; rod end just bolts up from underneath.
But my way would also work I belive and it would be a compression fit the nut would always keep it in place and no chance it can move up

Welding a re drilling is ok, but if i have any prob, i can remove the sleeve and change it back to the std way.

The sleeve will have a bottom to it, so where the nut is it will have a edge so to speak, so when its done up the sleeve wont more at all. Plus it will be a tight/press fit. So it shouldn't more at all.
