if they can find out who it is you could just say to the guy give me what it cost to get it fixed I done it one time when I got bumped
If it's not that bad I would not bother if you alert police and not inform insurance you run the risk later of a non disclosed accident could be problem later
if you notify them your premium will go up also just from telling them it's happened
