But theyre just mobile phone text messaging apps, the OP is referring to old skool type stuff like chatrooms, ICQ, IRC, MIRC, that sort of stuff, like the old pngchat

Sometimes Skype if needed, but other than that its whatsapp or for the odd stubborn mate I use bareback messenger
