Oooo nice collection, i like the idea of the brakes... Ive wanted to space mine out a bit more to fill the wheel... Might need a pic or two... Thought youd run a flat fly wheel tho.
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi
    Far from suicidal
    Still I get them tendencies
    Bringing back them memories
That I really miss when I reminisce

It is supurb to see some of the main parts of Marks Nova live on.

One of my all time favourites from back in the early 2000's!

    Keep the updates flowing!

    Nice bits there Nick

Your going to need some misalignment washers on the rose joints on that linkage tho, you won't be able to set it up properly without them I found

Get cracking on the rest of the updates as well

I would be glad to help as you have always helped me as and where's needed. I didn't actually realise you can run a flat fly with f28?? I have both so no biggy if flat fly is best.

Yeah it's been a while coming but I wanted to wait until it was a worthy amount of updates etc. Brakes feel the best setup I have run on a nova to date so you'll be happy with them. Be careful with your wheel choice though as mark had bells and brackets machined to fit as they wouldn't go behind allesios without the work.

Cheers Edd, your pal made it up and has assured me it will be fine as he's made many that have no issues working. However if that is the case it's no problem misalignment washers don't cost much in fact sure I have some somewere will have to take a look!

    So were was I?........

Since buying the above it left nova funds a little low so no new parts for a while now! I did think though that rather have all these parts sat around I could fit some so planned on making a start with the bonnet......

Upon getting the bonnet home I had a good look round it.... It was a genuine bonnet and wasnt bad apart from a few small dents and the vent installation had been done well but I knew I could make it better. I was considering removing them and briefly tried to but whatever they've used to glue them in with was absolutely solid! Thinking about it I knew their was a possibility of breaking the vents when trying to cheesewire them out or similar so opted to leave them in but make them a lot neater so Id be happy with it once finished.

A messy bead of sealer was around the edge of the vents which I didnt like so removed it. I later tried to remove the vents but as said earlier gave that upas a bad idea! The carbon on the underside was also extremely rough and had been painted over so needed rubbing smooth. All this had to be done by hand as I had no air tool small enough and I didnt want them damaging so fingerblast it was!........

Sealer removed and an attempt at vent removal....

All the underside was prepared first removing any suspected rust/faults I found along the way. I couldnt touch the outside as It needed to be left glossy for the paintless dent guy to work his magic on the small dents to prevent use of unecessary filler etc........

Then the whole of the underside was prepared....

Once my dent man turned up he lifted a few small dents and levelled a couple of rippled areas. Their was however a few shallowed areas he couldnt perfect due to their positions so I did my best to block level the full bonnet to remove these and then fill a few small areas before priming......

A small amount of sealer was needed round the outside of the vents as it has been done previously but they had missed a few areas.....

Once that had cured It was ready for high build primer.......

I only primed a limited area round the back so I could get good build on the rear of the vents to make them smooth. It wasnt necessary to use high build on the full rear of the bonnet as a sealer primer will be enough later on. Into primer we went.....

This was then left over the weekend to air dry. I didnt want to force dry (bake it) when I dont know what products have been used previously as they could possibly react with mine and it was a chance I didnt want to take as I was in no rush.

    More to follow later...........

    Nick.

Even thought they are little jobs, your prep and attention to detail, sorry perfection, is awesome!!

On the linkage side of things, just a heads up...

The nut underneath the RJ at the gearbox end of the linkage, i drilled though this (through the nut, RJ studding and out the other side of the nut) and fitted a spilt pin as the nut kept coming off. Not slating Grunts work at all. I am running an early Nova linkage with the smaller diameter bushes. Not sure of this makes a difference.
