Cut and shape with rubber mallet looks much better than smashing the ****e out of it.
I did similar to above, looked neat but wasn't quite far enough back so still touched just... wasn't an attractive noise when you booted it!

i havent welded my engine bay, its got some strenghting plates fitted but other then that im not bovering
got my neighbours mate coming round when i need him to cut out a hole and weld a plate to replace some rust holes on the cross member, guy owns a cavalier gsi apprantly and he loves my nova
