Phoned today now they are saying Feb the first! Three fecking months? Come on, tried to cancel the order and get out of the credit agreement, was sarcastically advised im well outside my 14 day cooling off period.

Avoid of your in the market for a new sofa
    1. have you paid anything??
    2. have you received anything??

i assume the answer is no on both counts.

write to them formally pointing out that you only agreed to buy the sofa on the condition that it arrived on 7/1/13, and the salesperson agreed to this. as they have not managed to do so, they are in breach of your agreement, and you are cancelling the agreement with immediate effect. then make sure your bank cancels any payment instructions that dfs have organised. then change bank accounts & close your old one.

then buy one from a local independant store.

dfs are not in the sofa business, they are in the finance business, the sofa is a byproduct of this, almost a gift..

i have had some bother with them as my mrs ran up about £25k in consumer purchase debts, and we have a payment scheme in place which means in 3 more years, we are out of the woods... and the biggest bother we had was with the people who supplied the finance to dfs.... they have been downright insulting over the phone.. and the fecking sofa was 5" bigger than the one in the shop, she rang them up & got fobbed off with 'the one in the shop is an old model' and she believed them & i ended up cutting a massive chunk out of it to make it fit in place.. i have also made a rule with my mrs that whenever anything other than food, clothes or diesel is purchased, i need to be involved with a tape measure & a pad.. cos buying things that don't fit in the house is not a new thing with her....

Got a bit further today, finally got to speak to a dfs branch manager, complained about the 3 month wait, the arrogant sales man, the way be lied and said all sofas are UK made, the unwillingness of staff to help with a loan sofa, so he has said he will do a group wide search to see if anyone has ordered the same sofa they would have our allocation then we can cancel the credit agreement

I know it's a long shot but worth it! He seems to think it will be here on the 7th of Feb but I won't hold my breath after this shambles of a service :D

so in other words, you've just been flannelled by a salesman again.

look on the internet for consumer websites & read what they have to say, cos this can't possibly be the first time this has happened

the 'special order' thing is cobblers, as is their 'sale' and i bet you didn't know, they use professional shortar$es on the ads to make the sofas look huge (potential job for dar )

getting to a brickworks for 4:30 to be told i was late & they won't load me till 7:30am.

the cut off time is 4:30, but apparently these people can do what they want.. i gave the bloke several earfuls & he then rang the office.. which is on divert to me, so he then informed me that he was going to ring the office in the morning... so i pointed out several more home truths to him & left it at that.

what he thinks he is going to achieve in the morning is anyone's guess as we all think they are ham shankers

Getting to the pub for Hobbit's birthday dinner to be told no cavery, no mixed grill, no steak and ale pie etc due to deliveries being delayed due to snow. and no burgers as they are having to get them tested for horse.

Lack of beef + Hobbit family =

Going to pick up something from PC World that was purchased online through work on the company credit card but in my name.
They asked for the credit card it was paid for on which I do not have as it is kept in accounts.
Said I dont have it as it is a company card but I have ID etc and the online receipt printed off.
    Sorry, need the card....
But I dont have the card, its not mine...
    Need the card....
Dont have the card so what do we do....
Can only do it with the card....
I dont have the card, can I speak to the manager?
He cant let you have it eitber without the card.
    FFS!!!!!!

Nowhere on the collection notes does it mention showing the card and there is apparently no way round it, I must have the card.
    Wish I hadnt bothered. Muppets.
