    yer but like i said before, i would rather rescue/restore something then just replace it, good practice for when i get even older cars with harder to find replacement parts

    yes but a fuel tank that looks like a collander is never ever going to fix properly for that sort of money... but a new one will give 25 odd years service...

    tj, there is never just one tiny hole.. you will get that fixed & then another one appears, and another, and another... i've been there & done that.. i used the t shirt to try & wipe the petrol out of my eye.....

    i know i shouldnt bover, but im going to get it blasted cut out the area with the hole and have a crack at welding it, flap disc it down then have it powdercoated.

    If your sand blasting it it won't bother you if you fill it with sand to do the welding repairs then.

    Fill the tank up with water if you must weld it. However for the price of a new tank you'd be silly to even bother.
