No it is an external pump
No it is an external pump
so could i use this pump and my 1200 tank, the 1200 tank has flow and return ports and is in much better condition then my gsi tank, i know ive already got metal pipes on the car and getting some braided hoses from them to the engine

the 1200 tank may have a feed & return, but it has no swirl pot. so every time you turn right with some vigour & only 1/2 tank of fuel in, it will suck air. this will definitely cause the car to cough & splutter & will eventually knack the pump.
buy a late model spi tank & fit an astra mk3 or corsa internal pump - with the intake shortened properly to fit.
cheers mate, ive got a mpi tank it just needs blasting and powdercoating as its in a right state
felt a bit flush so ive just bought a set of powerflex bushes for it aswell (just the fronts for now)

still not found anyone to do the welding on my engine bay so another small update
i pulled the parts out of the de-rust/grim soloution and its worked well
(all the grey arears had light surface rust)
the fuel pump carrier was still rusty, the lighter rust had all flaked off but the more substantial stuff was still there
so i attacked it with a wire brush and a wire wheel on the 4" grinder
and back in the (now stronger) soloution it goes
hopefully it will be better when it comes out tomorow
do you think this is going to be enough paint
will get some pictures of the other lower arm all painted up![]()

right i better practice my welding other wise this project isn't going to go any where fast, i was having problems with my welder as the wire speed seems to have a mind of its ownend up with some right ****ty welds and not to mention the wire falling off the motors wheels every ten fooking seconds
so i opened up the welder
and with a little bit of modding i came up with this genius solution
its helping weigh down the top arm attached to the roller, which pushes the top roller down on to the wire holding it in place, this means my wire speed is more consistent happy days
^^all this means my welds look alot smarter^^
penetration
just need to have a go at welding thinner metal to some thicker stuff, as thats what was causing problems in the engine bay![]()
now im off for a shower i stink of welding![]()

the neighbours will be happy with me today, over 2 hours of angle grinding off old paint, surface rust and rubbery underseal
the tools used
think i need a new wire brush :/
no nasty repairs/bodges were uncovered so im a happy bunny, the tiny bits of surface rust were wire wheeled off and covered in rust treatment, left it in etch primer for now, will give it a blast with some satin black paint later, then its being seam sealed and having that rubbery underseal stuff on it and a coat of white paint on top of that hopefully that will be enough to keep out any future rust
not to bad for a sunday.

Defo got your monies worth from the hand wire brush.
The tension on that wheel is adjustable, and it appears to be wound all the way off in the top pic?
Too much tension is just as bad as if the wire ever gets stuck in the tip etc it will force it down and try and fold it up in the line/torch/welder, which might get messy!
Thinner metal to thick is fairly easy too, it's all about concentrating the heat on the thicker stuff, and letting less into the thinner. Look up some stuff on torch angles and the concentration of heat, that will help a lot.
its unwound on the first picture as i had to reseat the wire in to the grove on the bottom wheel, as it fell out again and it kept doing it, so i flipped the mig reel over so its feeding from the bottom (you can see it in the hammer picture) and that seemed to help for a little bit but its still not perfect
