It wasn't untill after I had won it that he quoted me £25. He said that he rang the post office up and that is what they quoted him. I had looked at couriers before he got back to me and they were charging £20-£25 so it sounds about right.

glad your sticking with X16XE, keep it updates with lots of detail ill need to refer to your thread when fitting mine!
It was nice to meet you at Billing, well for the short time we were there

It was the locking Aerocatches I wanted and I got them cheap anyway so all's good!

I'm glad i'm sticking with the 16xe as well, I don't know what I was thinking when I was looking at Calibras

I'll make sure I take lots of pictures and details during the conversion, it's just the wiring that's going to be the hardest part.

Well it's hopefully going for paint on the 23rd and will be there for a 2/3 weeks as it's mate's rates so will get done when he's free. So when the Nova's back from paint it should only take a couple of weekends to get the engine in and working so hopefully around the beginning of September.

The insurance is due on the Polo, and tax and MOT on the Nova at the beginning of October so It will probably be put back on the road for then. That gives me time to sort everything out properly and not have to rush things.

    Cheers guys!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I started on a little something and it turned out pretty well I must say!

With the 16xe I wanted to keep the engine bay looking standard so I decided to try and make the Corsa airbox fit.

I put it up against the Nova SRi one I have to see how much cutting was needed (alot):

I then set about cutting it about:

And sat in about the right place in the engine bay:

I then went down to Maplin and bought a £7 soldering iron and set about plastic welding the gaping hole I made (first time plastic welding and I think it turned out pretty well):

I have just got to weld a bit more here and there tomorrow then it should be done. I'm also thinking about rubbing it all down and painting it so it looks standard but then again, you won't see any of it so I may not...

Nice idea, but why not use the E16 box? Also if your keeping it, defo sand off and give it some satin black all over IMO.

I was bored so decided to just try and make the Corsa one fit but I also think the Nova one looks too small in the engine bay and with the Corsa one, it'll be a little differant.
