Been busy the last week changing my mind and getting things done...

...After stripping the Corsa of it's engine in under 2 hours as the shell was being picked up, I have decided to stay with x16xe. This is mainly due to wanting the Nova ready for the summer and the x16xe conversion is much easier than a c20xe as it will just drop straight in etc.

Some pictures of the engine removal:

I then removed the dashboard and installed my electric windows and central locking. I managed to drill the holes in the door and a-piller by taking the wings off. Good to see that the front panel and inner wings haven't rusted away... yet!

Made these grommets/conduit just for now. I wrapped a load of electrical tape round the wires as well but I am looking for some propper ones but can't seem to find anything.

I've also been spending all my hard earned dosh! Got some 2ltr brakes with EBC grooved and drilled discs that are 4 months old for £30!

Yesturday I bought a Dbilas inlet manifold for £200!

I've also bought two sets of Aero Catches, a 6 point roll cage and a few other bits. They car should be going to have the engine bay painted a week or so! I can then get the engine in and get ready for the summer.

Cheers mate. I've been looking for a decent manifold for a while now as I didn't want one of those sh*t VX Performance ones!

I thought I had updated this but obviously not...

I wanted a 3" outward rolled exhaust but didn't want to spend money on a new one as I have recently bought a full Ashley system so it seemed a bit pointless. After a quick search on eBay I bought a 3" outward rolled tip. Once the engines in, GTE bumpers on etc i'll get the old tip cut off and the new one welded on exactly where/how I want it.

Last Saturday I got bored so decided to get the engine ready for removal so removed all the engine auxiliaries and fed the complete wiring loom back into the car.

    OH NO, we have rust

I would have liked to have got the engine out, but being on the road I don't think the neighbours would have been too happy!

The plan is to get the engine out this Saturday coming at my friends place who is also going to weld a cross in the roll cage and weld a rear strut brace in. I'll also get him to sort the little bit of rust out and possibly seam weld the bay incase of future plans!

Then, once the engine is out it's off to the paintshop to get the engine bay painted and a couple of bits touched up on the body. I've also kindly been given an early tailgate which has been delocked which I shall get painted whilst the Nova is there.

Thank you! It's not quite how I want it yet but it's slowly getting there. After having long thoughts, the 16xe is the best idea and as you say will be so much fun!

I also got a right bargain on eBay the other night. I was searching and noticed a 4-1 manifold that didn't have long left and was only on 99p with collection only. I contacted the seller and he said that he would post it. With a minutes or so left I put in a bid for £51 and won it for only £16!!! I then noticed the seller was from Guernsey and thought f**k, the postage is going to be alot but he came back with £25. So for £41 i've got myself a stainless steel 4-1 manifold for a 16xe!
