    Default what oil after rebuild

right since spending a lot of time and money rebuilding my xe , have just completed a non **** kicking 500 miles

now when i flush the running in oil out , what make and rating is prob goin to be the best for it

ive always ran a 15 40 in it normally , and before rebuild also had some oil treatment as my pump was ****ed and had no pressure untill i thickend the oil up haha

bear in mind that although it only does 3k ish a year , its a hard 3k haha

Vauxhalls own Semi Synth would be my vote. It's supposed to be really good oil and I've no complaints.

My Sport runs Castrol TWS Motorsport, if it is good enough for an M3 then it is good enough for the Sport.

As above Carl use Vauxhall oil to run for about 500 miles then empty it once run in and then retop it back up, I've had about 8 different rebuilds and this has always been fine.

I swapped from 10/40 to this stuff as i found my XE got too hot an thinned the oil way to quick, meaning more changes regular to try keep it protected, and it got mega silly replacing it every few time i used it, so i used this and it gave more oil pressure, and was WAY better once it was running hot, and actually helped drop running temps IMO, but the draw back was it's a bit thick from cold so you had to let the car warm up a while before use (but thats good for it too)

You should be able to find it for about £45 per 5ltrs mate, or look for a full synth thats 5/10-50
I will be going for something again like this in my new loon build.

I use the Castrol Magnatec 10-40 semi that Asda do for £10 for 4 litres. Use it in the MR2 and the missus Astra.

Not a big fan of Magnatec, my Corsa ran awful on it when I last used it so went back to Vauxhall 10-40 and it was fine. GM stuff is made by Fuchs.
I knew someone that worked for an oil testing company and Mobil 1 always came out tops. Castrols run of the mill stuff didn't fair so well.
