That I really miss when I reminisce
today i changed my back axle for one i had in stock that had the conversion plates welded on as the one that was on just had spacer plates that werent welded to the axle
axle off
lacking pics but new axle on
exhaust, 3 silencers to make it reasonably quiet
and when i was finished fitting the axle and it was back on its wheels i noticed it was sitting slightly higher on the drivers side rear, i havnt taken much notice before hand but after some head scratching and pi55ing around i discovered the front drivers side was sitting approx 10mm higher than the pass side therefore puttting more weight on the rear pass side and making it sit lower on that corner so after some more pi55ing around it turns out my strut insert seals are bust and pi55ing oil out and also theres a internal problem with the insert as it should have around 5" travel and it will only push in 3" max, thats why it was sitting higher on that front corner, not sure what make the insert is, fearless thinks its either bilstein or decarbon. ill just send it to hockly and let him fix it i think. some times its just one thing after another

Straps are used to restrict the droop on the rear beam - stopping the springs from falling out
Its an old trick the rally boys used to do - in fact they used the same progressive spring in the rear for forest and tarmac events but used the straps to 'lower' the rear for tarmac events, by compressing the rear suspension and using the strap to hold the desired height !!!

Without stripping mine down I can't confirm which ones you have
The pilbeam struts came from Iain at Eurorally and were sold as Tarmac spec Pilbeam Struts - but I cant remember what he said the inserts were - I have a feeling he said Decarbon (thats what the works rally novas originally ran)
A quick call the Martin at Harry Hockly Motorsport should give you all the info you need - what he doesnt know about nova's isn't worth knowing

A search around the internet suggest its a Decarbon Number -
Quote :"The CR05 code is a De Carbon number. I think that this was a gravel rear shock. I think that CR03 was tarmac"
So you'd think CF would be front
If your struggling to find out let me know and make some phone calls
