If your removing the front panel...... Id trial fit everything on the front end once a tack weld or two is holding the new panel in place. A lot of mk2's dont line up properly due to either non genuine panel replacements or not enough time spent aligning/trial fitting. Spoils the finished article and will drive you mad in the long run If it isnt spot on.

    Nick.

Cheers Nick, to me thats what I'd do aswell.

Appears the term "tradesman" means someone who just guesses

It's going into an old boy my dad knows, he's rebuilding one of mcraes old rally cars ATM, and does some seriously nice work. Did the bootlid on our jag, and it's amazing.

Going to have the engine bay repainted to a "show" standard, and then if funds allow a pair of quater panels and sills.

Then a full blow over in Audi abis White, or glacier

I'm sure she won't be as clean as yours nick, but won't be far off

I do fancy having a go, I did the rear panel in my old nova, but for this I'd rather let the old boy do it.

He's a professional, and whilst I can do pretty much anything, arty stuff isn't my thing.

Takes a lifetime to learn a trade, and it's best IMO to let someone pro do paint and body work!

At least you get the bay how you want it now though But why are there no pictures? I bet you're just making it all up anyway, good 'progress'

Plus you will be re-smoothing and painting it every few months when the paint/filler cracked!
