i was thourght the hoses to the heater matrix came from the solid hose bolted to the back of the block, as it had the two outlets and they looked like they would line up

i hate all these wires should have just bunged in a 1400 carb engine lol

1 of the outlets does go to the heater matrix from the solid pipe, the other goes to the bottom of the header tank

lmfao thats a pro bit of kit that mate, going to spray 'snap on' on it and sell it on ebay for £579.98

going to finish it tomorow, get the propper engine and gearbox rested on it and test fit the engine to the car hopefully

No, either box it out properly, or cut a slit, hammer in, grind clear and re-weld.

no, my wleding and welder is ****, i cant afford a half decent welder so hammered panel is bound to be stronger!!

I always wear gloves. Take them off for some things, but most of the stuff you do, they're ideal - good for keeping warm at this time of year also. Mine go well with two pairs of socks, tracksuit bottoms, Dewalt trousers, two t-shirts and a hoody and a hat. lol

Cut and shape with rubber mallet looks much better than smashing the ****e out of it.

I did similar to above, looked neat but wasn't quite far enough back so still touched just... wasn't an attractive noise when you booted it!

I would normally give them a quick go up the legs and rounds the crossmember etc but like a lot say they only go when there rotten, Bluepeg had been running a big block for years and never had a problem

i havent welded my engine bay, its got some strenghting plates fitted but other then that im not bovering

got my neighbours mate coming round when i need him to cut out a hole and weld a plate to replace some rust holes on the cross member, guy owns a cavalier gsi apprantly and he loves my nova lol

also tided up the wiper motor, didnt like the corrded brass look of the backing plate so its now black (what isnt lol)

How is it mangled? Thread looks fine tbh. Does a bolt go in ok? If it is knackered then a new inlet manifold is the easiest option imo
