Went out in it tonight, my god!... I forgotten how dam fast it was not having drove it for a few weeks, quite stupidly fast, even possibly to fast fro everyday road use.
But dam is it fun, dare drive it too much as i need my license to get to work! lol
Mr Danker came over too, bought some headlights off him, and an air box for the TB's to draw the noise off for track days.
Scott
It is indeed a bit quick lol compared to mine it just doesn't stop pulling, and it starts off at like 2.5-3k rpm pulling more than mine ever would atm :d
if you want fast try a nova with 382ft lbs or torque and holds 340 ft lbs all the way to 7200:cool:
thats brown pants fast lol
Well maybe next time dude you can give us a passenger in it? :thumb:Quote:

Question is (Will you could tell me) where do i mount the jets?
Both in the bay? if so near fuel rail etc?
or should i add another and then put one in cabin, one near fuel rail, one under the car near the tank?
But im thinking if i add another jet theres less content focused in one area, so less effective spread to three points etc.
Scott
Both in the bay matey. Only need them in the cabin if a) your going rallying b) you have a fuel cell.
Mount one jet at either end of your strut brace facing the fuel rail area. When you come to mount the actual extinguisher, situ it infront of the pass seat but directly under the front it so to speak, the area where the seat rail slider handle would be on a OE seats.
EDIT: Will check my photobucket for pics of some of my old cars for ya..
I'd have one aiming at the fuel rail after seeing flys fire...
Yeah Mike/Benn was thinking both in bay by fuel rail, though i cant mount the main extinguisher by passengers seat (well maybe behind it) as in front already have a hand held one.Quote:

As above, if the fires reached the cabin already your shells probably already fooked, start peeing on it from a distance purely for the comedy photos at this point, probably while crying. lol
If a fire reaches the cabin area, you really do not want to be in there. At all no no. The fire aint the problem. Its the melting plastic & aluminium that is.Quote:

Whoa whoa whoa, it's a precautionary measure not something im wishing for FFS!
Put both in the bay, fan spray patten aiming at the inlet/fuel system...
So....... After i had been to Combe/Shakespeare race way back in September i noticed the car had developed a misfire, so i asked on here for advise SEE HERE
And the answer that came back the most was coil pack, so off to ebay i went, bought a 1.8-2.0 XEV one for £10, fitted it today, and sorted..
Here's the old one, it was an SBD one, same as sold on there site.
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1...re230small.jpg
And here is the XEV one fitted (the back part, two lumps) think it's magnets? is slightly smaller then the SBD type..
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1...re229small.jpg
lol the missis Jamaica poking in shot!
Also i got some of these, i was after some in 3", but could only find 2", there a bit snug, but they do the trick!

Matching the seat make, and Colour scheme..

After....

Also fitted a door close rubber seal that Nova Ian sent me ages ago, lets hope it will do better then the one's that come off, and keep the water OUT!
Scott
glad youve sorted the miss fire out mate :thumb:
cant help but take pics of the jamaican thou :d
Yeah, will be getting it in for MOT this week, need to crack on and sort some more thing's to the Orange one though..
And it defiantly need mapping, think how much better it COULD be  lol
Looking good dude.
look good mate
if you ever get any more problems with your coil you can buy a genuine one from vauxhall for about £55 so not mega money, it's what im planning running on mine !
Well i just needed to test it and see if it was 100% the coil playing up before i thought about investing into one thats over £30, but as it's working i'll stick with it, though i have seen gen Vaux ones selling on ebay for £35 :thumb:Quote:

good work scott, harnesses look cool now.
Good to see the misfire is sorted mate!
Had today off so use it to get some things done on the Nova.
first up was F/G Boot, it need the 4mm plexi glass cutting then fitting into the rubber seal
So...
Got the plexi glass out, placed it onto the ground, placed the boot on top of it, and marked the opening in the corners/top bottom
then removed it and place masking tape over it thats wide enough to take the base plate of a Jigsaw, then dropped the boot back on top, marked the opening so it's exactly in-line as you look through the opening.
http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/3120/picture264.jpg
You then need to add on roughly 6-7mm, so mark this around the first line, as the window sits in the rubber/on over the opening you see.

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/7189/picture268.jpg
Put the P'glass Perspex in the rubber seal, then place it upside down on a table etc, place the F/G boot on top of it, then using something like a tea-spoon handle (as me and my dad did) you will need two of you to do this, press the boot down onto the glass seal while prising the rubber up and over the lip with the end of the tea-spoon handle (using some water/grease is optional to help it over) i opted for spit! lol
Took us about 10 mins to place it in, might take it out to paint the boot, but no fussed right now..
http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/2517/picture269f.jpg
http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/9086/picture270y.jpg
Then found my locking type bonnet/boot catches out, just checked to see if they would fit/work, should do with some fettling etc.
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3290/picture272m.jpg
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/2613/picture273.jpg
Weighed in at 7.8 Kgs without the locks, so 8.0Kgs when finished i think.
Also today after doing the boot i though just before it gets dark I'll sort something thats been bugging me for a while now.
The dash lights have been only working on the top right by the rev counter, and no ware els! So driving at nights fun, as i had no idea what speed i was doing (although the gages read out)

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6896/picture248pt.jpg
http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/4843/picture247j.jpg
So i could of replaced them with white normal one's, or white LED's, but i went for some bright Blues to bring it chaving upto date! :p

Blue leds are much better than my old ones, i've just put std bulbs back in so i could see the clocks again.. Wonder if they do white leds...
Boot looks good, nice job on the plexi.

Cheers for the link, my blue ones where just to dull, shouldn't read the trip or see the ends of the speedo/reves.
These are flat head type, so the light goes out, not to the tip like on a domed one would etc.
Mine where flat too...lol
may have to get some bulbs for when i finally get my new clocks :)
looking good and looks like a good job on the rear screen :thumb:
Strange!Quote:
