It was a total reshell into a donor SR. A lot of the parts were swapped over but the engine and exhaust system were new for the red one. I believe the engine from the red one which I bought from Vauxhall for about a grand is still around too.

When the owner of the house and car died it was left to a relative of their family. The person I bought it of spotted the new owners at the house and asked if they would sell the Nova. He got it for a few pound, I have a receipt here for it. lol

Cheers Gunny. Well I wouldn't say I got it for pennies, I paid a reasonable price imo by the time I had it home. It was a non-runner when I got it as well and needed a bit of a recomission to put it right as it hasn't been on the road since 2000.

yeah, completely original, 25000 miles from new.

I think thats the only time its moved all year. started fine as well put a battery on it and once the fuel was through ran bonny as you like. Think its the smoothest running car ive got.

There is no doubt that the car would be a perfect car to convert. But I think it would a shame to do this to my Nova because of the miles and the fact it has only changed slightly in its near 30 year old guise. There is still some real clean base models kicking about with 20/30/40k on them that would be better suited to being chopped up IMO. lol

Handle like boats,your gonna lose off the line to a tomos 50 pedal and pop.
Interior is awful and the best thing that could ever happen is for it to be fitted with the much nicer sr or gte interior

Here the nova is now it has roll cage to go in an lightened balanced flywheel and crank 2 bucket seats with harneses
It is a early 1600sv lump with full stainless steel exhaust sys with 2.5" outlet rolled also has gaz coilys all round and early nova sr dials six pot style
Brought this as trackday car as origional sr so will keep for while has clear indicators also nice cesaroes all done properly
really will be a good toy with the 40s etc an cam an pulley
what you lot think as saved it from charlioboi was not impressed wen it turned up!!!

Mmm, there was a certain genuine Brazil Brown Sport with a Polar White top coat that was originally bought from Brabham's. lol
I agree with the previous comments, keep it as a GL, they are getting rare and impossible to find now.

Liking the Black Nova Ash, bit of a rough job on the paint but the styling though is how I'd be having a mk1, the GTE rear bumper and the mk1 front end tie up together very well.

Yea i bought it a couple of months ago for rallying as it is MSA log booked ready to rally.
Yea i remember that mids meet, when you took me for a blap in j20xe, that thing was a beast.
Finished uni now, living back down essex and now a design engineer :)

Everyone's said that, It's had a quick blowover to make it look pretty, been rallies since 2003 so it's far from clean, so ideal for what I want to use it for, will only be used for Tarmac rallies so shouldn't get ruined (fingers crossed anyways lol)
