over the welds, I sanded them down but i want it really smooth.

tip on filling mate take it back to bare metal first otherwise it wont stick and will come off

Last night went to mate house put air filter and the old nova wheels on his corsa, Then couple of my other mates Josh and Drew came through and we got driveshafts off, Today ( only finished work at 4.30) I have drained oil and put head back on as Josh said it would be easier to take engine out, So plans tonight are engine removal. :d

well today was a day for stripping the car dow and seeing what were dealing with. First job of the morning was to remove the dash and to remove the whole car loom. This went rather well, then the second job of the morning was to begin sanding down Cle's attempt at smoothing lol that took a bit of work but its getting there smoothing is not finished yet but we got a wee bit done.

Dude! Rule of thumb. The nicer you put filler in the easier it is to sand, so take your time and get it in there neatly.

Ok then when you put it in do it neatly and it makes rubbing it down so much easier. Use the longer side of the spreadder too. (you in a general group)

lol sorry this is all getting done in the long term mate for reasons u no off im getting this into a lock up once ive got it home and its going to get colour coded inner arches and underneath and basiclly a nut and bolt rebuild, so the rear beam, hub, tie bars all that type of stuff is getting painted and fitted with new bolts and im going to get polyflex bush's for all the bits and bobs, so its basiclly going to get as close to mint as i can with it. :d

I agree, I seen the car and no point in covering up rust with cataloy only to have to chip it away and weld it correctly.

well thought i better pull this thread back to the front page and give an update. cars done just about apart from tidy interior up and tighten the dash in. done a few more jobs than planned but well worth it i think as hopefully we can stop this rust for a while. so over the past few days we have been cleaning all the old pigeon sh1t welds and doing them properly. we still have a few to do but its nearly done. anyway i will get the pics up

to be fair it wasnt Cle. he made the mistake of giving a guy his motorbike to do the welding. so the faster he got it done, the cheaper he got the bike.

engine is running and starts first turn of the key. had it up to temp but cant let it get too hot as i wasnt supplied with a fan

snowing most nights, well exhaust didnt fit so went and bought a new 4 brand manifold off eurosport, so took the old one off then went to put 4 branch on but theres a couple of bent studs so took them out then put 4 branch on then bolted rest on exhaust on and was chuffed that it was on, then go to start it.......... tryed to start but just kepted dieing even with throttle so the engine isnt running now :mad: nothing but problems with this car i really cant wait to sell it
