*INFO* Stitch weld,chassis leg mod & plate kit positions *WITH PICS*

Seems to get asked a fair bit, so here are some pics for pointers for the positions of the welds needed and where the plates go. Hope it is of some use to people!

P.S. i think alot of these pics i copy and pasted when Dave/Bert did his, so hope he doesnt mind me using them!



Alternator mod in chassis leg. Doesnt need to be this much, but can help if work is needed, or engine moves to much!



Bulkhead welds. Be an idea to remove carpets and have someone with a wet cloth sponge on the inside. I did, just as a precaution.



Turret and inner wing welds *note, no strut tops present. I you are putting these on, you can weld these aswell*



N/S HH plate position.



O/S HH plate position





With the HH plates it is also recomended to weld the holes aswell. You may also find you have two plates left over with nuts welded on: these are for if you are using a sump guard IIRC.

Here's some more pics to add. I put in an additional cut out for the bottom pulley too. Makes working on it that much easier. The holes on the plates sheld really be welded too.

mine are MIG'd on a proper commercial jobby.

I guess every car is different, but on the three ive done theres been no issues, as due to the angle of the chassis leg (when viewed from above it comes moves away form the engine as it comes forwards) so making it that deep at the forward edge is pointless. The only time it would need to be that deep is if you retain the multi rib pulley which is a fair bit deeper than the V pulley ones.

Yellow line = my choice of mod
Blue line = typical 'deep cut' mod.
