Have you bent where the cable goes in through the bulkhead enough? The stick was going through clutch cables and it all it needed was a tweek so that the cable wasn't bending at that point.

yeah dar hole has been bent , its must have just worn out , it snapped where the cable joins the threaded adjuster bar
my XE snapped the clutch cable the day i bought it... alas the mount for it hasn't been bent...
