astra van. advice please

i bought an astra van last week and it doesnt hold any charge on the battery. i tried changin it for others but still doesnt work properly. would this be the alternator as im goin to change this? or is there anything else it could be? cheers

either dodgy earth, or funked regulator.

Does the battery light go out once revved. If you can change the regulator its usually only ?10. Had to do this recently on a transit

i changed the alternator now with a second hand one. now the battery light stays on and evrything is dim. im gonna get a mate to have a look at it tomorrow.
