Incedent at Castle Combe involving VXON admin!

This post is just to inform the Vauxhall community of the actions of one of the Administrators of VXON at Castle Combe action day.

Whilst out on track in the afternoon, Mark from VXON (pic of Mark and his car attached) was overtaken spiritedly by an Escort RS turbo just before bobbies, just after the no overtaking zone. As maneuvers at Castle Combe go, this was not uncommon, nor particularly bad IMHO. Maybe a word with the marshals about it would have been warranted if he felt it was dangerous.

However, Mark decided the best course of action was to speed around the warm down lap flat out, pull up where the Escort was parked at the end of the session, get out of his car, approach the Escort and send a flurry of punches at driver before the driver had even undone his harnesses.

He didn?t wait to find out whether the driver was a young lad or a pensioner, a male or a female due to the drivers helmet still being on.

Once he was separated from the now very irate Escort driver, he then got back in his car and proceeded to wheel spin off around the paddock nearly hitting various people.

The reasons for my thread are as follows.

1. Any threads mentioning the subject on VXON are deleted, and postees promptly banned (presumably by Mark)

2. Even if someone rams into your car on a track day, you are there at your own risk, and hitting someone isn?t even a last resort.

3. This man is supposed to be the head of a car club, and setting an example. I feel VERY sorry for the members of VXON on whom he has brought so much shame, and I hope he is dealt with by the club the way someone in MY car club would be dealt with for actions as childish and neandarthillic.

I will also be writing an email to the VBOA informing them in no uncertain terms of his actions. I think it would be an insult to see him at another event after acting in this way representing a Vauxhall club.

Mark was ejected from the Circuit and banned shortly after his outburst which was the correct and proper thing to do proving that the staff and marshals at Castle Combe do take such incidents seriously and perform out the correct actions.

Its a shame when something like that happens, hopefully no one will let it tarr the rep of VXON. I wouldnt condone the antics of the Vectra driver but the Red mist has been known to cause otherwise placid drivers into raging maniacs.

However physical violence has no place in what is meant to be a pleasurable day for enthusiasts & participants alike.

I had no idea it happened whilst there on Sat, but speeding in the paddock is bang out of order itself IMO.

Lets hope there is never a repeat.
