Default What Spec for 350hp LET

A friend is wanting to build a Nova track car.. He's into his Jap stuff so is keen on a 2.0 Turbo with Over 300hp..

What spec is needed ? and how much is it likely to cost ? Excluding labour.

Is it going to be reliable ? To a certain degree, money isn't a barrier... but the cheaper the better !

I was thinking some Kind of Replacment Turbo, Exhaust, Managment (mega squirt ? EDS stuff ?) FMIC... Then Stuff like Stronger Internals ?

I don't know much about Lets. And please, no posts saying "oh he should just do a XE e.t.c"

    Thanks Nick

A set of Evo5 chips(which fpr change, IC etc) gets you to about 280-300hp, and doesn't cost too much at all.
    And is apparently very reliable.
And that retains the standard turbo.

More than that and you will need start looking at exhaust manifold/turbo swaps.

If its going to be a track car you want the following:

New turbo and manifold - Stock KKK manifold causes major heat for cylinder 3 when subject to lots of flat out driving,
Steel rods - again its to ensure safety,
    2.5" or larger exhaust system,
    Evo 5 chipset,
Injectors cleaned or replaced with VXR items - again for safety,
    Large FMIC,
    Roose sport coolant hose set,
    Some stiff engine mounts,
    F28 and a Quaife diff.

If it was a track car I'd go N/A. I love turbo engines but purely for track use it would be compromised.
