Road Rally W.I.P
Thought id share some pics of my project... that im taking my time with
bought this car for ?80 s i needed the engine for my other nova (went pop whiles overtaking a granny)
engine bay was almost rust free so i just cleaned it and gave it a lick of paint
got the 1400 sr lump in as i hope to run in the 1400 class and as many people know are good to improve on. got a few plans for the future of this engine too
haha bought this chavy nova for the royal sum of ?50, then sold the windows for ?30
had loads of spares and 4 brand new tyres on astra GTE alloys :D bargain!
when i put the ne gsi shocks and springs on, might be a bit too low.
got the cage and rest of the enterior in...
drivers side sill was well buggerd in places so my mate had a bit of practice on it, turned out ok too :D
its all been seald up since and i have been doing other bits and bobs like the gear linkage and repareing the drive shafts etc. next on the case is a lick of paint, i'll update as i progress :D
that welding looks rough as ****, do yourself a favour and have another go at it.
itl do mate, its gona be coverd in a gsi skirt, and it aint for chaving aroundbeen grounded back now and coverd in sealant
resprayed the car recently, same colour just makes it look a bit neeter. and also sprayed up my astra wheels. getting fed up with the thing now, cant waight to get it done.
Is that a 1400 8v i see? nice to see someone tuning the small block you can get some nice power out of that keep us updated
yea its an old sr engine, 1987 it was made. having trouble at the mo getting around the spi coil wireingim am terrable with electrics. if i could fix it with a spanner id be laffing, but im not!
ive got a c14se cylinder head (ported and polished) with re-cut valve seats to go there and a kent 320 duration cam with vernia also :D with a 4 speed f10! its going to be a hand full in the lanes.
im going to take some more pics soon so i'll keep this updated.
some more pics. had to get it out of the garage to turn it. hadnt seen it out in daylight for months, got an auto electrician coming tomorow and its just fitting little bits to finnish it :D
landed, got the auto electrician around today to change the spi coil parts and wire up the sr coil. all singing and dancing now :D
