Default Low Oil pressure on XE at Idle?

    Hi

Just finished a 2.0 16v Conversion into a Corsa and fitted Throttle bodies as well as a 13 Row Mocal Oil cooler to the engine.

The engine is a full Vauxhall re-con unit.

For the first few days everything was fine, but yesterday at idle (800rpm-1000rpm) the Oil pressure gauge on the corsa dash slowly lights up. As soon as you raise the revs it goes off again. So I checked the oil level and all if fine and took the relieve spring thing out of the oil pump at the front of the engine and thats all clean and fine.

Is this a major cause for concern? I thought the Oil pressure might be slighty lower due to the Mocal Oil cooler.... is this a fair assumption?

    Cheers for any help.

    Neil

I was under the impression that if the light came on, the oil pressure was virtually non-existant!

I would say that is cause for concern.... get a second opinion.. use a mechanical oil pressure guage just to be sure..
Perhaps something has blocked the pick up
