Thats alright then - means you can spend more money on a funky boot install + theres no point to a power cap unless you're running some heavy ICE.

I was stretching it a bit with the Kenwood, shoulda said Momo Polk, but the new JBL GTO 1202D's with twin coils do the business.
I know everyone has seen the JBL BTX250 bass tubes - they dont do the subwoofer range any justice.
Trust me on this one - I fit them and sell them.
Hmm, my mate had a 12" JBL and tbh I wasn't particularly impressed ... although to be fair it wasn't running through a particularly good amp, and I think it was only JBL's budget sub (at the time). He's now bought my old twin 12" sony subs and Magnat combat 4000 amp which works well together.
Myself, I've got a single 10" JL 10W3v2 and Alpine MRD M605 amp, built a proper sized box for the sub and I can't fault it

The old JBL subs dont even compete with the new GTO1202D's, they need to have sufficient power as they can take up to 1200w. I did an install with two of these subs and a GTO4000 amp powered them pretty well - too loud for my liking.
*cough* phoenix gold *cough*
Don't forget that JBL are really a PA company, on the rigs that we run a 15" is still a mid cone!
By all accounts the GTO's are improving. But i still don't fancy one. Thinking about a Vibe Fli Trap in a 10". Anyone got any light to shed on these? Really i just need some Kick and floor tom definition.

Got the Fli's at work, they're pretty good and Vibe build. I'd go for the Fli 12". We have them for ?99 - same price as the Fli 10". They are good for the money - only thing that puts me off is the grey colour.
The grey doesn't bother me really. The boot's still grey anyway.Originally Posted by jbowman
