It wouldnt be a great deal better that the engine you already have. There is no real point in putting an uprated cam in a completely standard engine. Its only got the standard twin choke carb, thers no decent manifold, you would just be taking the word of the seller with the cam as you cant really tell unless the head is dismantled. You may as well play with the 1.4 you already have.

Is the existing astra engine SPi? Would the 1.3 engine not be more powerful even in std form?

Which will be about the same bhp as the 1300 engine on ebay, depending on the condition of the aftermarket cam, and how good the port/polish is, the 1.4MPI could be more bhp than the 1300 engine.
Just de-cat that mpi engine and you will probably have more power than the 1.3 nova engine on bay. :wink:
