have seen it done before probably with a 13 head or the 12 head matched to a 13's port size then using a 13 manifold but I would just use a 32/34 carb you can get those to fit easyer and do the job.

    Default t40

I think a 32/34 be feel much better tban SPI.

Wouldn't t40's on a 1.2 net 70-odd bhp, same as a standard 1.3? If that's the case I'd say get a 1.3 lump and put t40's on those. Then you'd have a genuinely quick car.
People always say "stick a bigger lump in" whilst forgetting the cost of insuring it. But between a 1.2 I'd definately say stick a 1.3 in. They're nippy and very cheap to insure.

That's my opinion. I'm sure others will moan about it, but that's my two pence.

I've done it on my 1.2i. Put on a 1300 polished ported skimmed head, kent cam, exhaust system, 40s with trumpets. I can tell you its definitely worth it. I have a 4.18 fd ready to fit, so it should make use of the power well. I'd say at the moment without the diff its probaly slightly over 1300 power. Problem is that i don't think the little 1.2 bottom end will put up with more power, so i'm building a 1300 bottom end with heavy duty bearings, strong con rods, etc. I think you would definitly will need to at least change to a performance head for the 40s to make a real difference.
